FfatommyThe hotel is located near Tashiro Pond in Kamikochi, quite far from the bus terminal and Kappa Bridge. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the Imperial Hotel stop to the hotel. Fortunately, the hotel facilities, room equipment and catering services are all very complete, making people forget to leave. The most unforgettable thing is the view of the Azusagawa River outside the hotel gate. I also really appreciated the comfortable electric massage chair outside the large bath, which helped me relieve the fatigue from the long journey. On the day of check-out, I almost couldn't pre-check my luggage to Kamikochi Bus Terminal due to language and communication problems. Fortunately, the hotel staff immediately took remedial measures and delivered the luggage to the main station before the ideal time, so that I had enough time to walk to Myojin Pond and Myojin Bridge to enjoy the beautiful scenery after checking out. In short, the hotel service level is first-class and worth recommending.
TTonleewOur stay at Poetical was truly one of the most memorable experiences of our trip in Japan.
From the peaceful atmosphere surrounded by beautiful nature to the warm hospitality of the owner, everything felt so special and heartfelt. My husband and I were deeply touched by the kindness and care we received throughout our stay.
The homemade meals were absolutely delicious, every dish was prepared with so much love and attention, making us feel completely at home.
Thank you for creating such a beautiful place filled with warmth, comfort, and unforgettable memories.
We already miss Poetical and hope to come back again in winter to see this lovely place covered in snow ❄️
柳柳Lived the best hotel in Japan. The place is small, but the layout is exquisite. Careful staff service. Carry your luggage to the room and explain each dish of dinner carefully. Indoor hot springs are arranged for men and women to change the hot spring room. Try two different arrangements. Dinner and breakfast are super good. The room was also very clean and comfortable. Especially recommended.
TTxjemI really loved my time at Park Lodge Kamikochi, it was truly magical and I can’t believe our luck in finding this place. Location is great, very near to the bus terminal and starting point for many treks. The main areas and the rooms were simple, well-designed and very comfortable. Although note that there is no air conditioning in the room as the weather is already cool. The food was the best part, a delicious variety of offerings, including a live grill! My friends and I were amazed and felt like we got great value and experience out of this stay. The staff were mostly friendly, but we were once suspected of trespassing the premises. However, it was one-off and not a problem as they might experience non-guests entering. Overall, a fantastic experience that I highly recommend.
GGuest UserThis is my second time staying at the Awa-no-yu Hotel. I stayed there for one night last year and felt very good. I checked Ctrip and saw that there were 2 nights available, so I booked it 3 months in advance without hesitation.
We took the tram from Matsumoto Station to Shin-Shimajima Station, and then took the bus to the hotel, which was quite convenient. It's just that the cost of travel has increased now. Last year, the tram and bus cost 2250 yen, and you can buy the tram + bus ticket directly from Matsumoto Station. Now you have to buy the tram from Matsumoto Station for 710 yen, and then buy the bus ticket for 2500 yen after arriving at Shin-Shimajima.
The hotel distribution map is for your reference. There are no toilets and washrooms in the rooms in the main building. I suggest you book the rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the new building. The rooms are quite large and the conditions are very good.
The hotel's hot springs and meals are quite good, and the service staff are also very enthusiastic.
After we checked in, we caught up with a heavy snowfall. It was so enjoyable to soak in the hot springs in the snow!
Although the hotel is in the deep mountains, there are flowers decorated in many places, which is very stylish.
I would also like to thank Ctrip's customer service for helping me solve the problem in the reservation in time. It is trustworthy. I'm not an agent, I just always book hotels through Ctrip.
MMinnie8899Outdoor temperature was around –3°C, but the ryokan felt even colder because some sections were open to the outdoors. The walkway from the rooms to the onsen is uncovered, so there’s no way to avoid the cold. I had to wear my winter jacket just to walk to the public bath.
There is a private bath option, but the one assigned to me was far too hot — I couldn’t even step into the water.
The public bath is a very small indoor pool, probably suitable for 2–3 people at most. There is no shower in the room, so using the public bath is unavoidable.
The room itself was very cold. On top of that, I had to carry my own 25-inch luggage up three floors as there is no lift, so this place is not suitable if you can’t manage your own luggage.
Dinner was disappointing — just soba and a simple soup with pork and some vegetables and mushrooms.
AAurarathe accommodation is very clean.the owner is super kind.the accommodation, although it is a mattress.the floor, but the cushion is more comfortable than i thought.the blanket is warm, and there is an onsen as well.i went to soak at night, there were no people at all, super comfortable. Bath cream, soap and shampoo are also very good, the skin is not dry, the hair is soft and dim, I like it the most, there is a shower room and a separate bathroom, complete equipment, hot and cold, very strong and stable, comfortable, spacious parking, the view in front of the accommodation is refreshing, plus it is close to sawando bus, only 5 minutes to go again.
AAnonymous UserAfter traveling from Kamikochi, take a bus and change buses at Zedu (k20). After getting off the bus at Baigu Hot Spring, you will find the hotel. An old man will ask you about the hotel you booked, and then call the hotel. There will be a car to pick you up from the hotel (although it is not far, it is all uphill). The service attitude was very good. I met a Hong Kong man at the front desk who was very patient in helping us plan our itinerary for the next day. The hot spring has an open air.
GGuest UserIt seems like it has recently been renovated, so some of the basic parts are still old, but it was well-maintained and the facility was clean. I think the meals were well-balanced without being too heavy on meat.
The bath is said to come from a hot spring source, but it was so hot that I had to be careful to get into it. However, I think the power of the hot springs is that I was able to stay in light clothes until the morning without getting cold. If the changing room is dark, you will not feel safe, so I think it would be better if it was a little brighter.
I think the distance between the staff was just right, but since my luggage was heavy, I wish I had an elevator.
