"This city hotel offers great value for money. It's budget-friendly and perfectly located, making it super convenient for getting around and finding places to eat. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the service is excellent, ensuring a comfortable stay. The real highlight is the large public bath. It's spacious and the water quality is fantastic. After a day of exploring Matsumoto Castle, a soak there is incredibly relaxing and a truly wonderful experience. I highly recommend this place for anyone on a budget who also values a good onsen experience. Overall, I'm very satisfied."

"Super convenient location but note that free parking is not available. Recommended to park at the carpark behind (1min walk away) for 900 for entire night compared to 1200 at the carpark just beside the hotel (but it gets full fast in the evening). Plentiful of amenities provided and late night supper (especially enjoyed this greatly!). Kinda unfortunate they do not have outdoor bath but for the price is understandable. It's already not bad. Massage chair is available but require queuing. Dryer is 100yen per 15mins"

"Everything was excellent. The room was spacious, clean, and very quiet. The soba and ice cream were delicious! The location is perfect—close to the train station and many city attractions. The reception staff provided great service, and I was able to leave my luggage there after checking out."

"Worthy, nice food and service. I love every details they put, walking on tatami and great decoration. And I can say this chain is one of the best hotel in japan. - Even room is small but lower bed makes it more spacious. And with no view room you still got sunlight dont worry. - Location is good, walkable from the station. - Breakfast is amazing! Freshly fried Tempura is authentic, also Gyudon and others also great. I love apple juice too. - Dont forget night soba and treats after onsen. - Onsen is good too but only indoor. - The rest area beside onsen is fantastic, in the morning with the view of Japanese alps they even have name of each mountain so cute. - Tips for restaurants nearby, there are izakaya food court like gathering all izakaya in one place and yiu can choose what you like"

"We had a very comfortable stay at this hotel and were really happy with our experience. One of the highlights was the public bath, which guests can use for free perfect for relaxing after a long day, especially after skiing. The room was clean, well-maintained, and they provide daily cleaning even for long-stay guests, which we truly appreciated. The staff at Celecton were exceptionally kind and helpful. We had a stressful situation when my boyfriend lost his phone during our ski activity, and one of the staff members who I believe was a part-time working student went above and beyond to help us. He even accompanied my boyfriend to return the car to the shared rental parking area. Without his help, we honestly wouldn’t have been able to return the car properly since I don’t have a Japanese phone number. We’re extremely grateful for his kindness and effort. Breakfast at the hotel is simple but sufficient, and for more options, there’s a Hotto Motto right beside the hotel, which is very convenient. Overall, this hotel offers great comfort, cleanliness, and outstanding service. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others."

"If you're coming to Matsumoto and looking for a place with free onsen, this is it! It's very close to the station, the price is reasonable, and the breakfast is delicious. They offer free luggage storage, ice, microwaves, and laundry services on multiple floors."

"The location is unbeatable! It's just 200 meters to the right after exiting the station. Remember to book your free onsen experience at Shofukan in the evening. Although Shofukan only offers one large pool, it's more than enough, especially since the hotel provides it for free. Plus, there's complimentary coffee and drinks on the first floor. The breakfast is a bit simple, but then again, it's free."

"In the second day of hotel, we planned out trip to the castle, shopping street, and the Japanese alps area. So we had breakfast early and went to the station to meet our guide. After coming back from the trip, we took taxi again to the hotel. When we booked our trip to the station from the hotel, we realized that the hotel provided frequent trips to and from the station. As we were tired, we went to onsen, which was provided by the hotel. It was a free service or included in the stay, I think. The onsen is located in another big hotel and the bus ride took 30 minutes. There were many people from many hotels going together to the onsen hotel. The onsen was pretty big, two indoor pools and two outdoor pools. We enjoyed the warm water and relaxed. The bus brought us back to the hotel at 9 pm. The hotel gave new towels and other supplies in the door of our room as we didn’t have a cleaning service in the morning. Anyway, the hotel restaurant is good and the free shuttle bus service is exceptional as no reservation was necessary. I will visit this hotel again when we travel to Matsumoto next time."

We were just a short drive from the iconic Matsumoto Castle, one of Japan's most beautiful original castles. Strolling through the historic Nakamachi Street with its classic white-walled storehouses turned boutique shops and cafes was a delightful way to spend an afternoon. In addition to its proximity to cultural sites, Shoho serves as a great base for nature enthusiasts. The nearby Kamikochi Valley offers stunning hiking trails that showcase the unspoiled beauty of the Japanese Alps. Returning to the comfort of the hotel after a day of exploration was something we looked forward to, especially knowing a soothing onsen soak awaited us. In summary, Shoho encapsulates the essence of Japanese hospitality. Every aspect of our stay was thoughtfully curated to provide comfort, relaxation, and cultural enrichment. "I felt a bit scammed, they have the parking for 1.000¥ (wich is an average price for 24hours). They didnot mentioned when I got the parking ticket that I had to leave the parking at 11am (having left the car at 7pm). When they said it was already late to change parking slot without paying. So end up paying more parking for the car after 11am to 4pm when we left the city. Made the day a bit uncorfortable. If this hotel is your best option just donot use their parking services. Also the staff doesnot speak any english but that is common in Japan."
