Miyakojima Hotels with Breakfast

It was such a wonderful hotel that I didn't want to check out. The rooms were spacious and there was a jacuzzi, which the kids enjoyed. There was a wide variety of dishes at breakfast, and we started the day off right with a luxurious meal of shrimp and scallops. We were also able to see sea turtles, which the kids loved! However, when we arrived, we were not shown to our room even though it was past check-in time, and we were made to wait in the lobby. When I asked a staff member if our room was ready yet, we were finally shown to our room. When we arrived, our luggage hadn't been brought to our room. It was a little disappointing when we arrived, but other than that it was a satisfying stay.

Watermark was a perfect location for us on a couple’s getaway. Since we were flying into Shimojishima airport and rented a car, we found it to be a very convenient location—only a six minute drive away. Although we could see the runway in the distance, we hardly noticed the noise of air traffic. On top of that, we enjoyed that it was in a remote area and not in the middle of town (like Miyakojima) or in the midst of a major resort area (like Shigira). We didn’t mind exchanging more driving time for more serenity. I could go on about the location but if you are looking for a quiet place on the water, I highly recommend this hotel! The staff were always polite, which is expected in Japan, but there was also a kind of relaxed warmth that I haven’t always felt from staff in other Japanese hotels. The facilities also struck a perfect balance for us. Not garish, not too plain; just enough island flavor but not too much. I was refreshed every time I walked through the lobby. The breakfast buffet area was clean, fairly well organized and offered a great view of the ocean. We enjoyed our breakfast times daily. We used the laundry facilities and found the machines easy to use—glad to have had this option. We also enjoyed watching the sunset from both our room balcony and the rooftop pool. We loved our room. It was simple but had everything we we wanted, including a balcony. If you’ve ever seen a modern Japanese one room apartment, it feels much the same, without the gas range. It was perfect for our stay.

The hotel is in a very good location, with a very good BBQ restaurant directly opposite. The portions are large enough for two grown men. It is next to a convenience store, Yoshinoya and McDonalds. The most important thing is that the local day trip will pick up guests directly at this hotel. Very convenient. You must take a taxi to travel in Miyako. It costs about 1,400 yen to take a taxi to Miyako Airport, which is about 4 kilometers. The hotel breakfast is very good, rich and delicious, and you can eat a lot. Very good.

The hotel is in a good location to explore several regions of the island. Coffee is great and the breakfast options were worth it. The room is spacious and very quiet. The team was friendly and did everything they could to make us feel comfortable. The car we rented broke and they even helped us get the car working again. Great experience in Miyakojima! Location: The hotel is located in the center of the city, which is super convenient as a starting point to anywhere of the island: from here, the taxi to any direction is within 30 minutes at a cost of less than 3,000 yen. There is a FamilyMart across the road and you can get anything needed easily. And there are a lot of good dining places in the neighborhood. I made no reservation to any restaurant but just take a short walk randomly to the nearby restaurant every day and always find delicious food (there is one Japanese-style wagyu BBQ across the street which is super good!). Room: The room is cozy and spacious. You won’t feel it too narrow to open your suitcase as hotels in Japan elsewhere. The bed is comfortable. Facilities: There is a microwave in each floor, which is useful especially you need to leave early in the morning and have no time for breakfast. And there are also washing machines and dryers on the 1st floor, which is a must-have if you have activities in the sea. If there is any improvement I must say, that is the light in the room is too dim and it is not easy to do makeups.

Anyway, it's very good. Equipment も Qili だし, big family to けで the most suitable だと think います. (I was a family of five) There is a beach nearby and there is a pool in the hotel, so it is an environment that is easy to play. Breakfast is also very delicious. Finally, the surrounding environment is good because the Shigira group is managed together.

I used it for diving. The washing machine was helpful, but I wish there was a facility to dry on the veranda.

Amazing free local Miyako noodle locally grown vegetable and meat and fish for break fast every meal Was out standing ! Also loved the hot bath. And location is very central you can walk to many places by foot . Although it will be helpful to get around if you have a car . They also have paid parking space. I would recommend this hotel for location ( city central in Miyako ) hot bath , and all the locally grown yummy food if you would love to try ☺️

We stayed here for two nights out of the three nights we stayed in Miyakojima. All the hotels had washing machines in the rooms, so this may be the standard in Miyakojima, but it was helpful to have a washing machine in the room and a gas dryer on a different floor, although it was shared. We were going to go into the ocean, so there was a huge difference between going home without being able to do laundry and going home without doing it. We were given shaved ice as a welcome gift, and my daughter was happy. The hotel was right in the middle of the downtown area, so we found some delicious restaurants right away. If it wasn't a resort hotel, this was enough for our family. There were three beds, so we were able to sleep comfortably.

Contrary to my expectations from the photos, the hotel turned out to be a disappointment. First of all, the information on Trip.com does not match reality. The site stated check-in from 2:00 and check-out until 11:00. In fact, check-in is from 3:00 and check-out is by 10:00. The staff gave no explanation for this discrepancy. Secondly, the site confirmed a room in the new building. However, I was placed in the old building, which, judging by the exterior, looks like it was built in the 19th century. The room matched the condition of the building. All the furniture was very old and worn out, some even with mold. The view and access from the window was onto a shared balcony, which meant that to maintain privacy I had to keep the curtains closed at all times. The noise isolation was terrible — neighbors were loud from 7 AM to 11 PM, making it impossible to sleep. Speaking of the beds, the mattress was extremely hard and the pillows were stiff and uncomfortable. As for breakfast: not only was it limited to 7–9 AM, but the website had advertised a buffet with both European and Japanese options. Upon arrival, it turned out that there were no European options at all, only a fixed Japanese set meal. The only good thing was that at least coffee was available. The hotel has no beach, despite being close to the sea. There is only access to a rocky embankment, where swimming is unsafe. I used the coin laundry service, paying 300 yen just for my clothes to be rinsed in water. There was no detergent provided, nor was it sold at the hotel — I had to go out and buy it separately. The dryer only partially dried the clothes, so I had to finish drying them in the room. If you plan to come by car, keep in mind that there is no lighting in the surrounding area, so driving in such darkness doesn’t feel very safe. Overall, if you are looking for a proper rest and relaxation, I cannot recommend this hotel at all.
