"My first stay at Hengdian VIP Building was actually quite disappointing. I didn't expect the floor manager to follow up and apologize so quickly, showing a very sincere attitude towards addressing the issues. During my second stay, for three days, I felt thoughtful care every single day: handwritten notes, proactive greetings and inquiries... every detail was considerate and thorough. VIP Building proved with their actions that they truly 'take guest feedback to heart.' For the three days I stayed, the room was clean and comfortable, and the dining was also more attentive than last time. When I checked out, the lobby manager even came to see me off and asked about my experience. This is the kind of sincerity that shows a willingness to listen and improve. No excuses, just serious listening and timely improvement. This approach of taking guest feedback seriously is more convincing than any fancy promotion. Next time I come to Hengdian, I think I will still choose VIP Building."

"Excellent! Housekeeping comes to clean every day, which is wonderful. The front desk staff are super gentle, and the soundproofing is great. My friend and I stayed there for a few days and had a very pleasant experience. Every time the auntie came to clean, she'd replenish anything that was missing, which is a huge plus. The location is super easy to find, right behind a night market. Whenever we were hungry, we just went downstairs and walked a few steps to the night market – it was amazing! I highly recommend this hotel. Next time I visit Hengdian, I'll definitely stay here again! 👍👍👍👍👍👍"

"Fantastic! Five-star rating! We stayed for two nights, and the room rate included tickets. The location is very convenient for getting around, and the parking lot is huge, which is great! The service, especially, deserves more than five stars! It was raining a bit, and even the cleaning staff proactively helped us with our luggage! Thumbs up! The shuttle bus was available on demand, and the front desk staff were so enthusiastic! All the staff members are wonderful!"

"Fantastic location! Just a 5-minute walk to the subway station, with plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The room was even cleaner than I expected, and the bedding was so soft it felt like sleeping on a cloud. I'll definitely choose this place again next time! The front desk lady was incredibly warm, like an old friend. She even upgraded us to a family room when she saw we had a child and hand-drew a map of the surrounding area. The attention to detail was truly heartwarming!"

"The hotel's location is super convenient, just a short walk to the scenic spots. Plus, there are several pedestrian streets nearby with plenty of food options. The room itself was spacious, and I was given an inner room, which was really quiet—perfect for a peaceful night's sleep. Breakfast was quite varied and plentiful. It would be even better if they could add some local specialty snacks! There was a minor hiccup when the room's power tripped, but it was quickly resolved. Before I left, I even received a small gift from Atour, which was a thoughtful touch!"

"Super fun! This was one of the theme hotels that were hidden on the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street set. Appropriately, the Rosslyn Hotels' brand icon is the Landlady from Kungfu Hustle. Upon arrival, you check in at the North Gate's Tourist Services Desk. The concierge welcomed me with a complimentary bag of fresh fruit and asking me to add their butler (Housekeeper Xiao Xiao) to my WeChat. If I needed anything, I just had to text the Housekeeper Xiao Xiao (who was super helpful with all my questions (in English) during my stay). Then the bellhop whisked me away, via golf cart, to my hotel. There were several hidden hotels, with different themes, throughout the set. The bellhop took me through an unassuming door among into what looked like an empty set, and up an elevator to the room floors. The walkway offered a lovely view of the Ming Qing Palace set next door. The rooms were supposed to be themed as Guangzhou and Hong Kong in the 70s and 80s, but could easily pass for old Shanghai. The room was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable, the shower has nice and hot and with fantastic water pressure. The room has some of the largest closet space that I have seen in any hotel. The WiFi worked without the need to register a local cellphone number (I've found that many other hotels, in China, offered free WiFi, but you need to verify with an ID code text to you. The texts never come through to my U.S. phone number, so I have never been able to take advantage of free WiFi; that is until I got to this hotel.) The little details were delightful surprises around every corner. They always refer to guests as ”laoshi” (an honorific of teacher, or master, bestowed to actors) or as ”starlet”. Not gonna lie, I really wanted to take home the pair of the room's bone china cups. The stay also comes with very decent breakfast buffet that had both Chinese and western dishes. They will even make you fresh wontons and noodle soups to order. The restaurants in the park are not great and quite expensive by China's standard. I recommend loading up at the more tasty free breakfast to power through the day. The hotel's location was very convenient for touring Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street; which had very lively evening shows. (As you walk through the streets, look at the stores' signs and test your TV shows and movie knowledge by finding the Easter eggs.) The Qing Ming Palace Set is across the street from the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street's South Gateon the other side of the park (don't worry, it's not that far). To access the other sets, you can take their shuttle, but it does not come around very often. It's more efficient to get a Didi. Overall, it was a magical stay of being in the movies."

"I saw on Dianping that this hotel was rated 4-star, but it was last renovated in 2013. The reviews mentioned it felt dated, and upon checking in, I found that to be true – the facilities are quite old. Despite the outdated facilities, everything else about this hotel is excellent. From the service to the cleanliness, it's impeccable. The breakfast spread was fantastic with plenty of choices, even if the restaurant wasn't huge. Plus, it came with a joint ticket for attractions, making the value for money absolutely top-notch. We visited several nearby attractions, including Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden, Ming and Qing Palaces, Qin Dynasty Palace, Dream Bund, and Guangzhou Street/Hong Kong Street. Compared to the surroundings of those other spots, this hotel's area was definitely the liveliest with a great variety of dining options."
