However, compared to four-star hotels in Taiwan, the facilities here seem outdated. Taiwan’s hotels are newer and cleaner, and the food selection is also more abundant."

"We booked this for a short stop in Heidelberg after our flight from the US before further travel. We wanted to find accommodations that were more roomy than a standard hotel. What I didn’t realize when I booked the room was that it is not a full service hotel but rather more of a luxurious extended stay apartment ( in a beautifully refurbished former cigar factory!). And what a nice surprise: Gibreel contacted us ahead of time to inquire about any requests we’d have for stocking food; he greeted us promptly on arrival and was always available for help with anything we might need, day or night. He’d made a point not only to stock the fridge with our requested food, but to also make sure he left some freshly baked croissants from a local bakery! The 2 bedroom suite was modern, beautifully furnished, well equipped (full kitchen!) and perfectly maintained, in a very nice quiet neighborhood just about 1km from the Old Town. It’s a great apartment setup for anyone needing a room for an extended stay for business (great WiFi), medical or other reasons. A big thanks to Gibreel for making our stay so easy and comfortable!"

"The location is fantastic! Just 20 meters to the right after exiting the hotel is Tonghou! The staff were very friendly, and there were apples available in the elevator area. There was a kettle but no slippers. Breakfast included cheesecake! Not bad. However, on the afternoon of our check-in, the hotel emailed us saying there was no hot water, meaning we either couldn't shower or had to change hotels. This was very frustrating! Fortunately, Ctrip (the travel agency) responded quickly and offered compensation. We eventually decided to stay at the hotel anyway, and didn't shower. Anyone booking this hotel should be wary of hot water system issues."
