"This hotel is a little older than we have experienced with other Double Tree hotels. Could use some updating. The escalators were not working from the garage. And there is no elevators. So climbing the two stories of dead escalators was no fun. No need to hit the gym. No water bottles in the rooms. Quality of room coffee is super poor. Service was very good. Location is good. Entering the garage is a nightmare. Very complicated."

"Pros: The staff were incredibly friendly (some spoke English, and some Hispanics spoke Spanish); excellent location in downtown Houston's historic district; unique, very spacious, and well-maintained rooms. Cons: No self-service ice. You have to call room service (considering the tip I'd have to give, I just went downstairs to the bar to get ice myself). Neutral but worth mentioning: Very limited breakfast options. You could order an omelet as part of the semi-buffet, but I couldn't find any staff in the kitchen."
