"Staying at the Intercontinental Hotel in Chongqing's Jiefangbei was one of the most satisfying hotel experiences I've had; the overall experience was truly delightful.
The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, situated on Minquan Road, right next to a subway entrance. It's about a five-minute walk to Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street and Bayi Food Street, and just over ten minutes to Hongyadong. It's perfect for both getting around and enjoying local food and drinks.
What truly impressed me was the hotel's overall design and spatial planning. From the exterior to the lobby, everything exudes grandeur and a clear sense of quality. Upon entering the room, you immediately feel it's a meticulously crafted space – it combines the clean lines of modern design with the comfort needed for both business and leisure, avoiding the monotonous and rigid feel of traditional business hotels. The overall ambiance is very relaxing and aesthetically pleasing.
The room layout and attention to detail were also spot-on. The wet and dry areas are well-separated, and the flow is clear and user-friendly. Although the window in our room wasn't particularly large, the ventilation was excellent, and the air felt fresh. Air fresheners were placed at every corner of the corridors, and the carpet was soft and clean. From the public areas to the room itself, you could feel the hotel's dedication to creating a pleasant environment.
There were several design details I particularly liked:
Next to the sofa, there was a round table, perfect for children doing homework or adults reading and working. The bedside tables on either side of the bed were artistic – one round, the other shaped like a water droplet – both stylish and practical. The tabletop material was excellent; spills wiped clean with ease. The water dispenser, mini-fridge, and coffee/tea setup were also thoughtfully arranged, giving off a five-star quality vibe. Additionally, the TV in the room was huge; my kids even said it was the biggest they'd ever seen in a hotel, making for a fantastic viewing experience – a pleasant surprise.
Now, let's talk about the service experience, which was a huge plus for me. Upon check-in, a personal butler was assigned to me via WeChat to follow up throughout my stay. I must give a special shout-out to my butler, Peanut. Throughout my stay, she was incredibly proactive and meticulous, responding to almost every request immediately. Her communication was natural and comfortable, making me feel truly cared for and professional. This feeling of being genuinely looked after is rare and a significant reason why this hotel left such a deep impression on me.
The hotel's dining options were also outstanding, and I have to highlight them.
First, the breakfast buffet – I'd say it was one of the most satisfying parts of my stay. If 10 is a perfect score, I'd give it an unhesitating 10. The variety was extensive, with both Chinese and Western options. Salads and fruits are standard, but what made it even better was the freshly prepared Chinese breakfast items, like Chongqing noodles, which tasted authentic and were of high quality. It was a very enjoyable meal. From the food quality to the service, the overall standard was very high, with great attention to detail. It truly was so good that it's hard to describe it all (I also took pictures, which you can refer to).
Additionally, the afternoon tea offered daily from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM was a major highlight. Cakes, fruits, salads, pastries, coffee, and milk were all available and exquisitely presented. In other hotels or cafes, afternoon tea of this quality would typically cost over 100 yuan, but here it's priced at only 58 yuan and given complimentary to guests. It truly shows sincerity and generosity.
Another thoughtful detail was the bedtime milk service. Every evening, the butler would ask for a preferred time and deliver warm milk to the room, a small cup for each person. This attention to detail was perfect; after drinking it, I felt completely relaxed, and my sleep was more restful. This was a real bonus.
Furthermore, the hotel's third floor features a well-equipped gym and laundry room, which was another pleasant surprise. The laundry room itself was spacious and well-organized, one of the best hotel laundry facilities I've ever experienced. Washing machines, dryers, sinks, and ironing boards were all available, and even details like laundry detergent and laundry bags were thoughtfully provided. The entire process, from washing and drying to organizing and storing clothes, had a clear flow, making it very convenient to use. These details demonstrate the hotel's dedication to functional guest experience (I also took photos, which you can refer to).
It's also very kid-friendly. On the first floor, you can get free Haagen-Dazs ice cream and freshly made cotton candy, which made the kids incredibly happy.
Moreover, the hotel's 12th floor boasts a terrace, pool, and observation area. In the evenings (6:30 PM - 9:30 PM), there are holiday-themed music events, creating a great atmosphere perfect for relaxation.
Overall, this hotel excels in design, service, dining, and detailed guest experience. It was a truly delightful stay. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Chongqing and highly recommend it to everyone."
