The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and professional. The breakfast spread was impressive, offering a wide variety of delicious options to start the day. The hotel represents great value for money and is perfectly located for both business and leisure travelers. While the Maisha Spa was a bit underwhelming and could use some improvements, this did not detract much from the overall experience. In summary, Kigali Serena is an excellent choice for anyone visiting Kigali."

"I stayed at the Hotel Villa Portofino for one evening while traveling for work. After a very long trip and arriving in Kigali extremely jet-lagged, a hot shower and dinner delivered by room service was just what I needed. Breakfast the next morning was excellent and included an omelet bar, fresh fruits, and fresh fruit juices. Though I had to check out and was not coming back for a second night's stay, I was able to keep my bags in storage until I was able to come back for them. Overall, a very positive experience and would definitely stay here again. "

"We booked this room just for an evening, so that we could have a few hours rest before our 1:30 AM flight. They provide complimentary shuttle service to the airport, which helped us decide on this hotel. It doesn't feel like a conventional hotel - but served the purpose for us. Staff was fine. The room, though on the small side, was tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. Some parts of the wall had wallpaper/ paint peeling off. The bathroom was small and the shower temperature was very challenging to manage. They provided robes, slippers, blow dryer, iron, clothes steamer - all that in a small space. Bed was very comfortable. There was a coffee pot also. They have a cafe on one of their floors and a Chinese restaurant, where we ate dinner, which was reasonably good. Their outdoor seating had lovely view of the city. We also shopped for a few snack items at the supermarket next door. I wouldn't stay here if I was on a holiday, as it felt very impersonal, but it's perfect for a short stay."

Very close to the airport, and the hotel has a very nice restaurant with nice outdoor seating over looking a section of the city. Staff was very helpful, and room was comfortable."

"This Hotel promised pick up from the airport but they are liars. They dont show up. You struggle check in. The workers can't speak proper English. The rooms don't have towels and you have to beg the towel from reception. The rooms are clean but the TV is very small. They don't have Air confront and worst of all the dont have fans so you can't sleep because you sweat the whole night."

"Planned on spending 2 nights but left after first. Ad copy boasts that it’s adjacent to a quiet suburban neighborhood. Yes, that’s true. But it’s outside that peaceful neighborhood, situated at the intersection of two extremely busy roads. So there’s no quiet side. Making matters worse, windows are aluminum clad without seals. It's hard to tell if a window is actually closed since noise difference is negligible. I changed first room because one of the windows simply wouldn't close at all. Broken towel racks, water not draining in shower pan, worn out corridor carpets, tv didn’t work even without remote(plug would not stay in socket) remote for A/C non-functional. Clearly, no one is doing any routine checking or maintenance. Finally, in the restaurant, the tv is located such that the kitchen personnel stare at football rather than concentrated on preparations. The waitress has very nice, though. Front desk Alex was very friendly but he told me he’s send up someone to check the TV. Never did. When I went down to check, he’d already left his shift. But, pool is OK and the floor and stair marblework is very nice. If that’s what you came, for you’ll be delighted. "
