"Everything was okay, the apartment was comfortable. However, the room was connected to another, so I could hear people talking and other noises. There was no place to cook, which the owner didn't provide, even though the pictures showed one. The lift was incredibly frustrating; on the second day, it got stuck, and there was a sudden, loud jolt. Then, on check-out day, two out of the four lifts were broken, making us wait almost an hour to get down to the lobby and parking. Seriously, it was exhausting and hot 😣. Only two lifts were working. Aiyoooo, I hope the management can solve this issue. The apartment itself was clean and comfortable, and we got free Netflix, which was a plus."

"I promise this review is honest and unfiltered... This was my first stay in Malacca, and I’m so grateful for this newly renovated hotel that gave us a sense of safety and comfort. We ended up extending our stay by 2 more nights because we loved Malacca so much, for a total of 4 nights. Here’s my overall feedback, hope it helps anyone coming to Malacca: - The hotel is in a great location, seemingly in a Chinese area with no run-down surroundings. It’s only about 2+ km to Jonker Street, super close—Grab rides cost just a few ringgit. Taxis are easy to get, and there are bell staff at the entrance who can help with anything you need. - The renovation is new, easily 4-star standard, and really comfortable. Clean, fresh, with all the essentials. Rooms with balconies are amazing—my partner could smoke freely, just remember to close the windows to follow hotel rules. There are waiting sofas in every floor corridor, which is really thoughtful, plus air purifiers and air coolers too. - Downstairs there’s a seafood restaurant, a Western bar, a noodle shop, a Sichuan restaurant, and even a Chaoshan beef hot pot place. We tried almost all of them, and they’re all pretty good. The fish at the seafood restaurant was excellent—pricier, but worth it for the quality. - The hotel service is the part I need to comment on. It’s inconsistent—some staff are lovely, others lack service awareness. For example, there was a Malay bellboy who was always cheerful and helped open doors every day. But the front desk staff were sometimes unenthusiastic, and calls to them weren’t always smooth. The staff at the pool also weren’t very friendly. - Breakfast is okay! The butter should really be replaced with animal-based butter 🧈! If the hotel is open to feedback, please improve the front desk and overall service to match the standard set by the friendly bellboy. Wish you all the best with your business!"

"Check-in was super easy, and the property is very accessible with a convenient location near town. The place is also quiet, clean, and well-maintained. One thing to note during check-out time: since many guests check out around the same period, it’s better to take the lift up first before going down. Otherwise, you may end up waiting in a long queue depending on the crowd and traffic 😅 Overall, it was a great stay, and a big thank you to the host for being so attentive and responsive throughout."

"the staff were helpful, and friendly. unfortunately, the hotel facilities not well-maintained. Once we checked in the room, we realised that there was no water supply for our rooms (we booked 2 rooms) at that level. the staff then explained there there were some repair/maintenance going on at the hotel hence the supply was off.. after a few attempts, muddy water came out. they promptly arrange for new rooms for us. as we booked the king size rooms (higher tier, though no highest), we were upgraded to their ”better” and more exp room at highest level.. we were delighted... initially.... when we opened the doors.. both rooms reeks of mouldy smell... we gotta open the window to air the room... the flooring also popping and peeling. The shower area also fell short of expectation. in general, super not well-maintained... and I won't ever stay here again until they refurbish /renovated the whole hotel. good things.. got nice view...very prime location.. next door is the mall.. the bed and bedsheets were very comfy. that's about it."

"HARGA BILIK & PENDAFTARAN MASUK Kebiasaannya harga bilik di Hotel The Lisbon sekitar RM 300± tapi bila dapat harga RM183± tanpa sarapan di Trip.com memang berbaloi. Urusan pendaftaran sangat cepat, mesra dan mudah. Tidak seperti hotel kebiasaan, staf receptionist The Lisbon memang wajar dipuji kerana bila kita sampai di kaunter, mereka dah standby siap kad bilik dan borang yg perlu diisi dalam satu folder plastik, jadi hanya perlu mention nama penuh, mereka terus beri borang utk diisi dan bayar RM5 utk heritage charge. Tiada deposit yg mahal lagi mengarut dikenakan. BILIK Sesuai dengan harga, bilik lengkap dengan katil berserta tilam yg empuk. TV ada Netflix, Youtube, AppleTV, Prime and so on. Juga lengkap dgn iron, coffee corner, hair dryer, safety box, bath robe dan tuala. Tidak lupa utk buat Muslim, sejadah ada disediakan di sini. Namun sayang sekali utk toilet, tiada botol kecil syampu utk dibawa balik sbg kenangan dan saya ada request complimentary deco for anniversary yg ringkas spt deco tuala tapi mungkin pihak mereka terlepas pandang email permintaan saya tapi The Lisbon menebus silap terlepas pandang dengan beri sarapan percuma utk 2 org SARAPAN Banyak pilihan sarapan yg tersedia meskipun dihidang dalam kuantiti yg kurang sedikit mungkin berdasarkan faktor bilangan tetamu. Namun, wajar dipuji kerana banyak pilihan dan sedap. Bagi mereka ada anak kecil, jangan terlepas pandang seksyen makanan utk anak² ada disediakan siap dengan kertas lukisan mewarna jika anak² bosan. PERSEKITARAN Cantik, ada kolam renang yg luas utk dewasa dan kanak². klasik sinonim dengan nama The Lisbon Melaka. Tapi mungkin kekangan atau kekurangan manpower, jadi ada few tempat agak kelihatan semak Overall, The Lisbon Melaka boleh menjadi hotel mesra keluarga jika The Lisbon kekal menjaga kualiti sampai bila². Repeat? definitely yes. Moga maju jaya buat The Lisbon Melaka"

"Great location. Near to restaurants, convenience stores etc. The property is clean and the amenities were in good condition."

"Very close to the sea, but the location is too remote with no supermarkets nearby. The vending machine selling water charged me 2 RM, which felt like a rip-off. The elevators and rooms were like a maze, very hard to find. The interior was clean enough, and considering the price, it was generally okay. There aren't many great hotels in Malacca, so if you're looking for a sea view, this one is quite good. The room view is fantastic, especially at dusk during the 'blue hour' – it's beautiful! Make sure to bring all your basic toiletries and essentials, as they provide almost nothing. 🙂"

"This was our fifth stay at this hotel, and unfortunately, this time was very disappointing. 1. Check-in The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were polite and welcoming. I had requested a Queen Bed room instead of Twin Beds. However, I was informed that because my booking was made at the last minute (one day before check-in), only a Twin Bed room was available as all Queen Bed rooms were fully occupied. We accepted the explanation and proceeded with the room provided. 2. Room Condition Upon entering the room, the first issue we noticed was the air conditioning. Despite setting the fan speed to high, the room remained warm and the air conditioner was not cooling properly. 3. Bathroom There appeared to be a blockage beneath the sink, as water was pooling around the sink and toilet area. In addition, the shower holder was broken while we were using the shower. We chose not to complain and continued our stay. 4. Room Door & Bathroom Door The bathroom door could not be closed properly unless it was pulled and pushed firmly. The more serious issue occurred the next morning after breakfast when our room door became stuck and could not be opened. We contacted maintenance, and the team arrived to inspect the problem. From approximately 8:00 AM onwards, we were unable to access our room. Around 8:30 AM, the maintenance team requested approval from the Front Office to move us to another room because the repair would require additional time. However, they informed that changing rooms would incur an additional charge because we were checking out on the same day. I strongly disagree with this decision. From 8:30 AM until our checkout time at 12:00/12:30 PM, we were still paying guests of the hotel. The room issue was caused by a defect on the hotel’s side, and guests should not be charged extra to move rooms due to problems beyond their control. The Most Disappointing Part During check-in, we were informed that no Queen Bed Deluxe Rooms were available. However, while the maintenance team was accessing our room through the connecting room next door, we discovered that the adjacent room was vacant and equipped with a Queen Bed. If the actual reason was that the room was unavailable due to maintenance, it would have been more professional and honest to explain that from the beginning rather than simply saying all Queen Bed rooms were fully occupied. This experience has left us very disappointed. Every time we visit Melaka, this hotel has always been our preferred choice. However, after this stay, we have decided not to return. I appreciate the hospitality shown by the staff during check-in, but I sincerely hope the hotel will improve both its facilities and service standards. Thank you."

"The hotel tried its best, but it has definitely seen better days. We entered a room that was clean, and the beds were made perfectly. I had requested adjoining rooms on a high floor, and both requests were accommodated, which I appreciated. The fridge and phone in our room were not working, but it wasn’t a big deal—we simply used the adjoining room’s. However, I would have been quite annoyed if we hadn’t had the adjoining room to fall back on. At around S$60 per room during the school holiday weekend, it’s difficult to find another hotel in such a central location that also includes breakfast, so the value for money is hard to ignore. I would also like to commend the staff. The front desk team was welcoming, and the housekeeping team responded promptly to our requests throughout our two-day stay. The buffet breakfast was consistently topped up whenever items ran low, although the selection of pastries was limited. Overall, the staff were amazing—warm and friendly whenever we crossed paths, whether at the front desk, during housekeeping interactions, or at breakfast service. That said, there are areas that could use significant improvement. The bathrooms are overdue for renovation, with rusty corners and stubborn stains in several places. The towels have also seen better days—they were thin and had visible holes. I don't fault the staff for these issues, as they seem to be doing their best with a property that is quite run-down. I believe the hotel management needs to do a better job of updating and maintaining the facilities. Overall, this is a budget-friendly option with excellent service, though the hotel's physical condition could benefit from some much-needed upgrades."

"We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The room was comfortable, host very friendly, and the facilities were excellent and well-equipped. It is a perfect place for families, with everything needed for both adults and children. I am extremely satisfied with the experience and would definitely stay here again with my family if given the chance. Highly recommended🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟"
