"After a 3-night stay, here are my honest impressions of this hilltop resort (both good and bad).
First, the good: The public area design and maintenance are excellent, showing considerable thought and effort. The hilltop location offers expansive views, including a sea of clouds on rainy days, a definite plus. The rooms are spacious and well-designed. The breakfast set menu is varied, and the butler is responsive to minor requests.
However, considering the current average price of 3,000+ RMB on weekdays and 3,500+ RMB on holidays, this 4-day, 3-night stay revealed some shortcomings in details and service. Here are a few issues that significantly impacted the experience:
1. Inadequate maintenance for a new hotel: Upon check-in, I found the terrace sliding door was broken and couldn't be locked, and the screens were noticeably dusty. This was unexpected for a newly opened hotel.
2. Limited restaurant options and insufficient staff training: Dining on the hill is largely dependent on the hotel, but the restaurant menu only offers about ten dishes, limiting choices. When inquiring about dishes, the staff clearly lacked knowledge of the ingredients and cooking methods and couldn't provide explanations, indicating a need for improved training. (Lunch set menus can be booked one day in advance, but options remain limited for guests staying multiple nights.)
3. Significant conflict between public areas and guest privacy: The restaurant and café are open to the public, allowing non-guests free access to the hotel's largest lawn and pool area. During my stay, which coincided with the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, some non-guests entered the pool and café areas, further encroaching on guests' pool access and privacy. Smoking by the pool was also unattended by staff. Crucially, the lawn offers direct views into the rooms of Building 2, offering virtually no privacy.
4. Missing evening dessert exposes internal communication problems: The evening dessert recommended by the butler on the first night was not delivered. After communication the following day, it was acknowledged as an internal communication error. While a dessert was provided as compensation, such an oversight, occurring with low occupancy, indicates a need for improved management coordination.
5. Lack of standardized and procedural room cleaning: During my three-night extension, room cleaning was not proactively performed on the second and third nights. The next day, upon returning to the room after checking out, I found it hadn't been cleaned. Although someone came after I contacted them, they only changed the garbage bags and towels; the sink, shower, and sofa area remained uncleaned. They only cleaned after further communication. On the third day, I left at 6 AM and returned at 11 AM to find it still hadn't been cleaned, so I had to contact the housekeeper again. The cleaning staff seemed to lack standard operating procedures and hadn't explained the cleaning arrangements for extended stays beforehand.
6. Two Power Outages and Inadequate Emergency Response: On the afternoon of the second day, while I was having coffee in the restaurant, a sudden power outage occurred, lasting about an hour. I later learned that the hotel had received a notification of maintenance work on the high-voltage transformer at the foot of the mountain but failed to inform guests in advance or prepare any contingency plans (the temperature that day was over 30°C). On the afternoon of the third day, there was another short power outage. Only after I expressed my dissatisfaction did the hotel offer to waive one dinner as compensation in the evening; the overall response was rather passive.
7. Chaotic Breakfast Service: On the fourth day (checkout day), the breakfast service was disorganized; the staff couldn't remember which items in the set menu had been served and which had been missed.
8. Inadequate Pest Control and Ecological Environment Management. While the good ecology of the mountain is understandable, the fact that cleaning staff caught a snake near Building 2 on the afternoon of the third day is a serious safety concern for guests.
In summary: The facilities and location are excellent, and it's understandable that some guests are paying for the location and scenery. However, the service and operations clearly don't live up to the standards expected at this price point. We encountered various issues almost every day of the four days, with deficiencies in basic aspects such as cleaning, catering, emergency response, and privacy protection. If this is positioned as a 3k+ level resort product, these shortcomings need to be addressed as soon as possible."
