Guest UserEnvironment: It's a genuine cave dwelling. Because it's located in a village, the journey is a bit rustic. The owner called ahead to remind us, which made the experience more enjoyable and allowed us to appreciate the natural beauty.
Hygiene: It can't compare to a hotel. Being right outside the door, it's dusty and there are bound to be some insects. Those with a strong aversion to dirt should be cautious and avoid this option.
Facilities: The owner has done a great job. Everything you need is there, showing care and attention: smart controls, TV stand adjustment, fresh air system…
Service: A big thumbs up to the owner – a man of few words but decisive action, clear thinking, and strong execution. No wasted words, just keeping his word. After seeing so many insincere smiles and empty pleasantries from the service industry on the road, this owner is a breath of fresh air. Wishing him booming business and all the best!

Excellent hotel and recommended! The room was big enough for 2 of us and very clean. There are several restaurants near by. Although Trip.com shows the breakfast is from 7:00am but the actually it starts from 7:30, which was a bit late considering our schedule of the day. The breakfast restaurant staff was kind enough and we were allowed to start the breakfast from around 7:00 although the selection was limited until 7:30. Overall very good experience!

ShiwutianxiaThe B&B boasts an excellent location, nestled in Nioweizhai village within the Qiankun Bay Scenic Area. From here, it's a quick 5-minute drive to the end of the road, followed by a pleasant 3-4 minute walk past Longwang Temple, where you'll discover a fantastic viewing platform. This spot offers the absolute best perspective of Qing Shui Bay (Clear Water Bay), one of Qiankun Bay's three main attractions, even surpassing the paid viewing area!
It was my first time staying in a *yaodong* (cave dwelling). While it's a replica, not an authentic one, the experience was incredibly immersive and enjoyable. The room itself was spacious, featuring a huge, clean bed. The decor, with local elements like Shaanbei paper cuttings, truly highlighted the distinctive regional character.
The guesthouse features a sizable courtyard with convenient parking right at the entrance. The yard is brimming with various home-grown vegetables, which the owners thoughtfully use to prepare fresh, eco-friendly meals for their guests.
Nights here are wonderfully quiet, and the stars shine brilliantly in the sky – making it the perfect place to stay for a few extra days to simply relax and unwind.
The service was exceptionally warm and hospitable; the owners were always ready to provide detailed information and answer any questions first-time visitors might have.
Overall, a perfect five-star experience!

I picked this hotel as a jump-off point to visit Guanquan Canyon and Jingbian Wave Valley. It's located in Baota district of Yan'an. The location is great as it's only five minutes walk from the Yan'an High Speed Railway Station. Even if you have big luggage like mine, it's still manageable walk to the hotel.
The hotel reception was wonderful. One of the girls, unfortunately I didn't take her name, was extremely helpful and tried hard to retrieve the packages I ordered to the hotel from several storage locations for me. It shows that she was dedicated to her job to assist guests without complaints.
Breakfast is available and included in my reservation. It's standard Chinese breakfast. They even provided warm orange juice which I surprisingly like.
The hotel has a self-service laundry room with free detergent. This is a great plus for me.
The only complain I may have is, although this is not a unique situation in China, the stinkiness of cigarette smoking in the room and corridor. Thankfully it's March when I visited as I had to close window as cigarette smell came through the window. This is very unfortunate indeed.

Guest UserI stayed in the first room on the left after exiting the elevator on the fourth floor. The window was by the stairs. There was a slipper under the bed, which suggests they never clean under there. Upstairs, there must be a KTV because I could hear singing until 1 or 2 AM, which disturbed my sleep. Plus, there was a low-frequency noise, probably from some large equipment room near the unit. Parking was also quite tight, though that might have been due to the May Day holiday; I'm not sure what it's usually like.
Now for the good points: The bathroom had a three-way split design (separate toilet, shower, and sink areas), and they provided face towels. The bedding was comfortable, and breakfast was plentiful. I'd recommend booking a higher floor to avoid the noise.

brain_taoThe guesthouse is only about 200 meters from the scenic area entrance. The owner is said to be a scenic area ambassador, so you can get a discount on tickets purchased through him. The food at this guesthouse is delicious, especially their lamb (the owner's mother has been cooking lamb for 41 years! [Thumbs up]). It used to be called ”Lao Dang's Farmhouse Cuisine.” The guesthouse offers both cave-style rooms and standard rooms. Currently, the cave-style rooms don't have air conditioning, but it doesn't seem to matter much, as the temperature difference between day and night is quite significant, and it's not cold at night.
The guesthouse has a large courtyard (I really like guesthouses with courtyards), parking is very convenient, and a self-service car wash is available.

Guest User1. Look at the picture; customer service was incredibly slow and unresponsive to my questions.
2. The platform grants its members a 4 PM late check-out, but before 2 PM, the front desk called, claiming high occupancy and asking us to check out early. Then, when checking out at 3:10 PM, the front desk changed their story, saying that platform benefits require prior contact with the hotel for them to arrange a 4 PM check-out. It's laughable! The backend knows we used the platform's extended service, so how could they not know we were checking out at 4 PM? 😂 They're clearly bullying the vulnerable and trying every trick to take advantage of consumers.

It's located directly across from Yan'an Train Station and next to the bus terminal, making it convenient for intercity travel. While the accommodations are inexpensive, they don't offer the usual bottled water and require a 100 yuan deposit. I've stayed at dozens of hotels in China, but this was the first time I've been asked for a deposit. Yan'an is the starting point for my trip to the Wucha Grand Canyon.
