Mountain View Hotels in Langkawi

Our family of four spent a perfect 5-day New Year holiday at Villa Moo Moo. 1. We contacted the host, Azuan, in advance to let him know our check-in time. We just needed to find the location using Google Maps. 2. The location is in a village, about 200 meters from a side road. It's not particularly remote. We rented a car, so getting around was very convenient. 3. The villa has a pool table, karaoke, projector, swimming pool, washing machine, dryer, board games, volleyball, rice cooker, frying pan, cutlery, spoons, condiments, etc., more than enough for cooking (we used the rice cooker for hot pot on New Year's Eve). 4. The swimming pool water is constantly circulated, ensuring hygiene. There are plenty of towels; if you need to change them, just tell Azuan, and he'll get you new ones. 5. Regarding safety, since the host owns 10,000 square meters of land, there's no fence around the pool, so there are no safety issues. The host lives next door. 6. Every morning we woke up to fields and cows, and sunrises and sunsets. This is much better than many beachfront hotels! Thank you again to host Azuan for his attentive care.

We enjoyed our trip, staff was good. Room and view was beautiful - we stayed in grand viceroy stunning! Kids club was very nicely managed and the pool was good for both adults and kids! Lovely stay! The lady who took us for check in could have been more pleasant, she was more focused on getting her job done rather than smiling and being patient while the kids took some extra time. Rest well really enjoyed everything! They were flexible enough to change food options to vegetarian versions which were excellent! Very close to Skycab as well.

If you are looking for authentic old skool architecture then temple tree resort is deff the place to go. Its got modern amenities while being authentic with the structure. If you are allegic to feline dander or just arent the friendliest with cats, stay away as theres a few residents. One thing to consider is the akwardness of the toilet bowl positioning for penang house 1. I am on the larger side and this posed abit of an issue and required manuevering acts to say the least. Choose a different house but dont let this stop you. The breakfast had a good choice and lovely fresh baked pastries i appreciated!

It’s a service apartment in the same building and shared facilities (pool/gym) with the hotel. The check in process is different and you are not really a direct guest of the hotel. Overall it’s very spacious and we enjoyed our stay.

Objective review: Pros: Most hotel staff were warm, friendly, and enthusiastic. The location boasts beautiful scenery, with wildlife nearby, and it's very close to the jetty. There are also many dining options in Kuah Town. The spa was excellent, though a bit pricey! Cons: The hotel's facilities are outdated, and cleanliness was just average. The toilet had a slight odor, and the sheets had stains, which I later asked staff to replace. The biggest issue is the soundproofing. If you're easily stressed or a light sleeper, seriously consider my advice and avoid this hotel. Perhaps I was unlucky, but for four nights, a Middle Eastern family with two crying children stayed across from us, and their wailing continued past midnight. It was truly frustrating. Thankfully, the platform provided timely feedback and intervention, and the hotel manager offered some gifts and earplugs, but there were still several difficult hours at night. I think a better solution would have been to help us move to a more suitable room, but the manager refused, stating that twin rooms were fully booked. This is definitely incomparable to hotels with excellent service awareness in China. Another major pitfall: The seafood at the hotel's restaurant, Tide, was not fresh and very expensive. Definitely avoid it; don't take my word for it, go try it yourself. My daughter had diarrhea that night, and the hotel later offered some discount compensation. Communicating with foreigners is exhausting, so I won't dwell on it. Finally, since this was a family trip, we focused more on the happy moments. Despite the imperfections, let's just think less about them~ I wish everyone gets to see the beautiful natural scenery of Langkawi.

The hotel is centrally located on the island. While there aren't many restaurants nearby, it's not an issue if you have a car. We drove to Lembayung Coffee Shop, which has an amazing garden view. It's also convenient for getting to Dream Forest. The rooms are absolutely stunning, so charming and cozy, making you feel right at home. Breakfast was ordered from a menu and delivered to the room in cardboard boxes. I'd really like to see this service improved. For such a fantastic hotel, the breakfast really falls short.

The only minor point to note is that there isn’t a market nearby, but this was never an issue for us because the hotel provides everything necessary, and the staff are always happy to help with anything extra. We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay and felt completely relaxed. The combination of excellent service, friendly people, and a calm environment makes this hotel a perfect option for those looking for a pleasant and stress-free vacation. Great value for money! We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area—you will not regret it!

⭐️ (Strongly Not Recommended) My stay at A Coral Reefs Resort from 21–23 March started off acceptable, but what happened after check-out was deeply disappointing and raises serious concerns about the hotel’s professionalism and integrity. After I had already left the property and arrived at the airport, I received a call accusing me of being involved in a missing RM1200 reported by three foreign guests. This accusation was based solely on a vague CCTV clip showing me sitting in the lobby and putting something into my pocket. Let me be absolutely clear: such an allegation, made without concrete evidence, is irresponsible and unacceptable. The hotel’s account of the incident was inconsistent and unreliable. I was first told the money was left on a table, and later it was claimed to be inside a pair of pants. The inability to establish even the most basic facts seriously calls into question the credibility of the entire claim. Even more concerning is the timeline. If the alleged incident took place on 21 March, why was I only contacted on 23 March, after I had already checked out and reached the airport? This delay reflects either poor internal handling or a lack of proper investigation. The CCTV clip provided was incomplete and unclear. It merely shows me placing my own personal belongings (my phone and medicated oil) into my pocket. There is absolutely no evidence that I handled or took any cash. Relying on such selective and inconclusive footage to imply wrongdoing is not only unprofessional, but also unfairly damaging to a guest’s reputation. We have formally requested the full CCTV footage to ensure transparency and proper verification of facts. Failure to provide complete and unedited recordings will only further undermine the credibility of this accusation. If this matter is not handled appropriately, we will not hesitate to escalate it through formal complaint channels. Guests should be aware that without clear evidence, this establishment is willing to cast suspicion based on assumptions rather than facts.

2nd time staying at this property. This time, I took 1 room with 3 Queen size bed to accommodate 6 persons. The room was spacious. Comfortable beds. Hot water showers. No much complain about this room. My family likes the room, a lot of space to move around. Cold air-conditioning. Area to improve: 1. Towels are smelly. Not sure if those towels were washed with detergent because no detergent smell. Really unbearable smell and the towels are not water absorbed. 2. No hot water kettle. The property provides water dispenser at main hotel building. We stayed at another satellite building. Have to go to main building to take hot water. Other than these 2 matters, the property is awesome. The cheapest and frequently visited/stayed by local and foreign visitors. Opposite McD, close to food truck and many more tourists attractions. Walking distance to Cenang beach. At last what you pay that what you get.
