Amazing
GGuest UserExcellent room, excellent location and atmosphere of the hotel. Staff however, too often, go according to the 'book', and find it hard to think and improvise on the spot. It's as if they are under trained. When checking in there is no need to ask the guest to fill info on the iPad. You have this info, to stay in touch, already. Don't burden the weary traveler with trivial nonsense. If the sun shines, finally after weeks of grey and rain, and a guest sees the patio with tables in the sun, and this guest wants to have tea in the sun outside in the patio, this has to be a possibility. Don't say, well it's not the season so it's closed, it doesn't make sense, you're a top hotel, not the vander Valk. Improvise, think on your feet, explain that he is welcome to sit there and that his tea will be brought out, but it might take a few minutes longer. This way the guest feels listened to and that the moon is even possible. The kitchen is incredible, the food is wonderful. Last evening I had dinner at the Jansz., two ladies working, were very kind, helpful and attentive, they understood the delicate balance between asking how things are going and leaving the guest alone. I want them to know i appreciate them. Please extend my gratitude to them. Also the Asian looking lady who worked during breakfast this morning, was excellent. Please let her know as well. Finally, the staff at the entrance - getting cabs etc. - are great. Some of the male staff are too - in Dutch, popy yoopy. I am your guest and not your friend. That's all, and that's enough. Thank you for a great stay and I hope to come back again when I am back in the Netherlands. Kind regards, Diederik Lugt

ZZhaozaidadaoshangz16The location of the hotel is absolutely in the city center. The room is spacious and beautiful. It is a pleasure to sit on the balcony and watch the canal. The service is superb. The old doorman is a gentleman, and the receptionist is very polite. The bathroom is large, and the bedding in the room is superb, very comfortable. It gets dark at half past ten in the summer here, and the beautiful bells echo in the night sky. Special reminder: This hotel can check out at 4 pm.

WweibetterStayed there for 3 nights and got the Superior with a canal view. However, could only see a little bit of canal when standing at the very end corner of the room (so basically no canal view) at a rate of $500/ night, it didn't really appeal. Other than that, service was great and room was very spacious and clean.

XXihuanshenghuodenanshengThis might be considered a hotel with good value for money in Amsterdam, which explains why many Chinese tourists stay here. Once you get the hang of it, the transportation is actually quite convenient. It has a kitchen, which is great for cooking your own meals. The lighting isn't too bright, and the room was relatively quiet (we weren't assigned a room facing the train station). The surrounding area also feels very safe. However, I'd recommend doing your shopping in the city center before returning, as shopping options near the hotel aren't great. Overall, it's excellent value for money and a decent choice.

MM1243****The hotel breakfast was good, with a wide variety and tasty options. It's very close to the subway station, making travel super convenient. The subway entrance is just a two-minute walk from the hotel, so transportation is excellent.

GGuest UserLovely hotel modern, clean, quiet. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is lovely. Restaurant is very nice. Overall lovely stay. It’s away from the hustle and bustle of the central but only a 5 minute walk to the train station which has very local trains into the city which take around 15 minutes. Would definitely stay there again 😊

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is super convenient! It's about a 10-minute walk from Central Station and another 10 minutes to Dam Square in the city center. It's my top choice for business trips and leisure travel (this is actually my third time booking this hotel!). The breakfast is great too, and it offers excellent value for money.

GGuest UserLocation is somewhat ok, about 15 mins walk from Sloterdijk station, which is few mins by train from Central station. So about a 20-min trip to the canal area, which is not too bad. For check-in, even though I checked in at 3pm according to their rules, I still had to wait for almost an hour for them to get the bed ready. At least the good thing is that they have free luggage storage, so you can leave your stuff there before check-in and after check-out. There's also a really cute cat which could lighten your mood! And you can also play table tennis as well. Room-wise, it was quite clean and there's even a mini kitchen with a sync and some utensils (I didn't use so don't know exactly what's available). There's also a small locker (you need to bring your own lock) and a hanger for your clothes. The bed is ok, nothing fancy, bottom bunk is slightly low so you wouldn't be able to sit up straight. Overall a decent and reasonably-priced place in Amsterdam.

MMedPajGood location, close to rijksmuseum et al. Boat tour right outside. Friendly and helpful staff. But extremely limited facilities, but for the centre of Amsterdam a very good price. Some rooms better than others
