GGuest UserExcellent room, excellent location and atmosphere of the hotel.
Staff however, too often, go according to the 'book', and find it hard to think and improvise on the spot. It's as if they are under trained. When checking in there is no need to ask the guest to fill info on the iPad. You have this info, to stay in touch, already. Don't burden the weary traveler with trivial nonsense. If the sun shines, finally after weeks of grey and rain, and a guest sees the patio with tables in the sun, and this guest wants to have tea in the sun outside in the patio, this has to be a possibility. Don't say, well it's not the season so it's closed, it doesn't make sense, you're a top hotel, not the vander Valk. Improvise, think on your feet, explain that he is welcome to sit there and that his tea will be brought out, but it might take a few minutes longer. This way the guest feels listened to and that the moon is even possible.
The kitchen is incredible, the food is wonderful. Last evening I had dinner at the Jansz., two ladies working, were very kind, helpful and attentive, they understood the delicate balance between asking how things are going and leaving the guest alone. I want them to know i appreciate them. Please extend my gratitude to them. Also the Asian looking lady who worked during breakfast this morning, was excellent. Please let her know as well. Finally, the staff at the entrance - getting cabs etc. - are great. Some of the male staff are too - in Dutch, popy yoopy. I am your guest and not your friend. That's all, and that's enough.
Thank you for a great stay and I hope to come back again when I am back in the Netherlands.

ZZhaozaidadaoshangz16The location of the hotel is absolutely in the city center. The room is spacious and beautiful. It is a pleasure to sit on the balcony and watch the canal. The service is superb. The old doorman is a gentleman, and the receptionist is very polite. The bathroom is large, and the bedding in the room is superb, very comfortable. It gets dark at half past ten in the summer here, and the beautiful bells echo in the night sky. Special reminder: This hotel can check out at 4 pm.

Check-in was a breeze. All the front desk staff were so nice and lovely. One time, I ask if they have salt and pepper and they had unopened salt and pepper mills sent to the room.
Room is big with plenty of amenities. Big closet storage with multiple hangers. Big mirror. Iron+ironboard. 2 hair dryers (1 in the closet drawer and 1 in bathroom). Big safe for valuables. Mini bar and coffee machine. Free bottle of water on each bedside. Bed is huge. Advertised as king sized but it is actually a super king! I had the best sleep every night as the bed was so comfortable. Had 4 huge pillows too. Big window too!
The bathroom had a big bathtub, big mirror with good lighting.
Will definitely stay here when we visit Amsterdam again.
We also left our luggages for free when we checked out.

Ll3unnyI arrived at like midnight but luckily thereâs someone at the reception 24/7. The hotel is at an excellent location, it was ok to push my suitcase over from
Amsterdam central station, I think it took 10minutes yet I was shocked to see the very steep staircase because I had a 26â 22kgs big suitcase with me, along with a 7 kgs hand card travel bag, 6kgs backpack. Thereâs absolute no way Iâd be able to carry all that up stairs without tumbling down and getting injured before I could reach the reception desk. Thankfully, the male staff who work at the front desk were all nice and willing to help, ie 1st time for bringing all my baggage from the bottom of the steps at the entrance up to my room during which we encountered even more steep stairs to reach the room; 2nd time was when I had to check out, I left my suitcase outside the room and needed staff to help me bring it down to the reception storage; 3rd time was from reception down to the bottom at the entrance, otherwise I would not have able to stay at the hotel with all my bulky and heavy baggages. Itâs an old hotel so soundproofing maybe a bit of a problem, like I could hear floor boards creaking but itâs bearable and I had a good sleep. I had bit of a hard time finding my room, it felt like a maze in a boat or an anthill, but staff showed me the way to my room. The view outside the window was wonderful, Van Gogh museum and rijksmuseum were within walking distances like under 40 minutes. Itâd be even if they provided a water kettle, but I was happy that they actually have tv and air con! Iâd stay here again, just that I better not bring a big suitcase next time. Thank you to the 3 staff I encountered on October 10th and 11th!

GGuest UserThe front desk is located in a room inside a bar, and I was assigned a room in an adjacent building. The stairs are a bit too narrow, so you need to be careful. There are no common areas available. There are charging ports next to the bed. There are two toilets and two sinks, as well as cabinets for storage. The staff are alright.

AAnonymous UserThe biggest issues were the lack of curtains, making it easy to be disturbed at night, and the poor drainage in both the bathroom floor and the sink. On the plus side, there's a communal toilet and shower outside the corridor. The room comes with a hairdryer. There's also a common area on the basement level where you can eat your own food, and the activity zone is located there as well.

GGuest UserWe stayed at this hotel with our child. Overall the stay was fine and the beds were very comfortable, so we slept well. The area is great â quiet, safe and close to shops and cafĂŠs.
However, the room was a bit cold and our child got chilly at night. There were no carpets on the floor, so our socks were always getting dirty and the floor felt dusty. The breakfast was also quite weak, with a rather limited selection.
In general it was an okay stay, but with a warmer room, better floor cleanliness and a stronger breakfast, the experience could be much better.

Kkevin 9999The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, making it easy to get to various places. The hygiene is also excellent. A big plus is the abundance of fantastic restaurants around the hotel, and the night view is absolutely stunning.
