Guest UserAt the beginning of the month, my travel companion, “Peking Duck” (my child), and I explored four small cities in Guizhou – Guiyang, Anshun, Bijie, and Xingyi. We thoroughly experienced the karst landscapes, caves, waterfalls, and pastoral scenery, all in a comfortably cool climate. Here's a comprehensive guide to share with everyone!
⭕️ Guizhou Geological Museum (reservations required, closed on Mondays, last admission at 4 PM): You can book a guided tour with fossil restoration activities, which is very interesting.
⭕️ Qingyun Market: A great place to eat and explore (definitely try Guiyang's Sour Soup Hotpot – the flavor is unique compared to other regions).
⭕️ Yelang Valley (watch Nuo opera, two shows daily: 12:00-12:30 PM and 3:00-3:30 PM. Kids who enjoy crafts can try plant carving).
⭕️ I personally don't recommend Zhijin Cave for families with young children or the elderly! However, Zhijin Grand Canyon is highly recommended. Enter via the elevator, and the entire route is a downhill walk, making it very lazy-friendly. The scenic beauty is truly impressive and worth a visit!
⭕️ Guizhou Guanling National Fossil Group Geological Park (the fossil digging area is open, but the museum area will open in late July).
⭕️ Huangguoshu Waterfall (‼️ Water Curtain Cave requires reservations and raincoats are a must!). For a lazy-friendly approach: take the round-trip elevator and capture a panoramic shot from above. If you're not up for a lot of walking, you can skip Tianxing Bridge; seeing the main waterfall is breathtaking enough! And a shout-out to the park staff – every restroom is spotless, some even have toilet seat covers!
⭕️ Fenglin Buyi (consider going in the evening when the lights are on – the scenery is even more beautiful. You can experience Buyi culture, songs and dances, iron flower performances, and other unique shows. There are many fun NPC mini-games in the scenic area. Watching the iron flower show from a boat offers a more direct and spectacular view).
⭕️ Kids will absolutely love a full day at Wanfenglin! Fishing, mini-train rides, woodworking, tie-dyeing, fruit picking, making Ciba (sticky rice cakes), and so much more – they'll never want to leave! When they get tired, relaxing at a popular cafe is pure bliss!
⭕️ Maling River Canyon (known as 'the most beautiful scar on Earth.' The scenic area closes at 5:30 PM. For an aerial view, navigate to 'Maling River Canyon Parking Lot 2').
Tips:
‼️ Guizhou attractions can be physically demanding. If you're traveling with children and have limited stamina, opt for lazy-friendly routes.
‼️ Mornings and evenings are cool, but it can be quite sunny during other times, so bring plenty of sunscreen and mosquito repellent.
‼️ Some attractions require advance reservations, so plan your itinerary accordingly!
‼️ Bring raincoats for Maling River and Huangguoshu, and wear non-slip shoes.
‼️ For Zhijin Cave, avoid wearing long pants or white shoes as it can get muddy! The cave temperature is around 10 degrees Celsius, so bring a jacket.
Among the hotels we stayed at, 'Peking Duck' loved the Huangguoshu Kaiyuan Manju Hotel the most. It offers many parent-child activities, new facilities, and delicious dining!
We enjoyed a cool summer with temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius throughout our trip, without any high-intensity rushing. We experienced city life, majestic gorges and waterfalls, underground marvels, pastoral peak forests, and ethnic minority customs all at once. The best classroom is always on the road; what you see with your own eyes is far more memorable than what you read in books. It’s time to get out there with the kids!

Guest UserThe front desk staff member was very warm and attentive. Since it was the off-season and there were available rooms, they kindly offered a free room upgrade and even added an extra breakfast to our original booking. The underground parking had plenty of spaces. The hotel is conveniently located just over two kilometers by car from the scenic area's visitor center parking lot. If you don't have a car, the hotel also provides a free shuttle service to the scenic area. During my stay, they could drop guests off anytime after 7:30 AM; for other seasons, you can inquire at the front desk about specific times. The room was spacious, and when we needed extra amenities, the housekeeping staff delivered them promptly and with great enthusiasm and patience. The hotel has a restaurant, and for a hotel near a scenic spot, the prices were reasonable, and the food was good too.

The first time I came to this homestay, I took my children with a family of three. The experience was very good. We came on weekdays, there were not many people staying, the location was very good, the store upgraded the room type for free, and the staff's service attitude was very good. During the stay, the front desk lady took the initiative to send carrots, let the children feed the small animals, there are free carriages, donkey trains, children have a good time, adults are also very relaxed here. recommend!

The hotel has a tasteful design, a great environment, and convenient transportation. The front desk staff are very friendly, and the housekeeping aunties are very polite. It offers great value for money, with reasonable prices and a super soft, comfortable mattress. The shower area is clean and has a separate wet and dry zone. The room has smart voice control, and I absolutely loved the abundance of greenery throughout the hotel – it's perfect for photos! I'd definitely stay here again if I get the chance, especially since free parking is also available, which is really convenient. I particularly enjoyed the style of the restaurant; there's plenty of seating, and the rice noodles were incredibly delicious and authentic local specialty... full marks!

AilvxingdexiaolilaoshiThe guesthouse is near Huangguoshu Waterfall, about a 10-minute drive away. The room has a small balcony, a bathtub, and a sofa, with stunning views. The housekeepers, Xiao Hui and Xiao Wu, were incredibly attentive; despite their small stature, they were incredibly helpful, carrying our heavy luggage for us. They were always there to fulfill our needs. I would definitely choose this place again next time.

The store opened by myself is simple and kind, clearly priced, and hospitable. I came to Guizhou for the first time and Huangguoshu for the first time. I thought I would slaughter customers. I was worried. The people here are really kind and have a good temper. The hotel restaurant is also the food made by the boss himself. Going to the scenic spot is also picked up and sent by the boss's family, I am really relieved. When I picked us up, I asked the boss to find a place to eat and put us down. The boss agreed. Because I was too tired, I asked more. I said that the boss has dinner at your house. The boss said yes, but he will not take the initiative to recommend it. I am afraid that you think we deliberately solicit business and deceive people. If you order more dishes, you will also tell you that we are afraid that we can't eat it, so that passengers can rest assured, and the main one is ”reassurance”.

Guest UserReaching the end of the watercourse, one can sit and watch the clouds rise. A chance encounter with a breathtaking mountain view captivates the heart at first sight.
A secluded haven near Huangguoshu Waterfall offers a perfect blend of rustic charm and understated luxury. The guesthouse is built into the mountainside, offering a panoramic view of the magnificent Baling River Bridge, with an infinity pool reflecting the rolling green hills. Awaken to birdsong in the morning, and be greeted by mist-shrouded mountains from your window; at dusk, wait for the sunset on the terrace, watching the evening glow paint the sky. The rooms feature warm and elegant wooden interiors, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the landscape. The butler service is attentive and meticulous, and the meals are authentic and comforting. Escape the hustle and bustle, fall asleep to the mountain scenery – this is the most healing way to experience Guizhou.

The homestay is very comfortable. We have two adults and two children staying in it. The beds in the rooms are all 1.5, which is more spacious than other hotels. The owner of the B&B was very enthusiastic and took us to scenic spots several times. You can eat downstairs, the food is delicious! Recommended for those who go to Huangguoshu Waterfall. The B&B also has a swimming pool, which the children like very much.
