"The location is great, right next to the ancient city wall, and quite close to the scenic spots inside the ancient city; the staff upgraded my room, which was nice; they informed me of the evening light show schedule; the courtyard environment is really beautiful, and the breakfast is also good. Highly recommended, I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Chaozhou."

"Traveling with a group of five, we found the lobby, elevator, and hallways bright and clean. Our room was unique and came with a coffee machine, and the water bar was incredibly practical for washing fruit and tea cups. We were pleasantly surprised by the daily fruit delivery! Knowing our age, they kindly extended our check-out time, so we didn't have to worry about rushing for our flight. Breakfast started at 7 AM every day, offering a great variety, and the coffee machine had many options. The large toaster made sure our bread was perfectly toasted and fragrant. Excellent value for money! They also provided us with guides for local food and transportation, and it was very easy to catch a taxi. We were very satisfied."

"I specially chose a newly opened hotel, a little distance from the scenic spot, and I need to take a taxi. The whole and the room are very clean, the decoration is new, and there is basically no decoration smell. This experience is good. Arrived at the hotel around 8 pm that night, the overall feeling was relatively deserted, there was no reception staff at the door, and there was a staff member at the front desk to check in, and the overall atmosphere was more biased towards the hotel. The room was clean and tidy, but the disposable slippers smelled particularly big and could not be worn. It is recommended to replace the quality of better supplies. There is also a more special situation: the air conditioner in the room cannot adjust the temperature. After consultation, I was told that the weather above 10℃ was controlled by the hotel uniformly, and it was the first time I encountered it. The hotel is a straight-line corridor, the sound insulation effect is very poor, the sound of opening and closing doors, the sound of footsteps in the corridor, and the sound of talking can be heard clearly. Stayed for two consecutive nights, and was awakened several times by various noises in the morning, which seriously affected the rest. The sanitary details need to be strengthened. There is an egg at the elevator entrance. We went in and out several times and stayed for two nights. No one cleaned up all the time. The view was not very good. There are not many choices for buffet breakfast and the taste is average. However, it is worth affirming that the waiter at the breakfast side is very enthusiastic and will take the initiative to help, and the cleaning is also very diligent. Overall, the hardware foundation of the new hotel is acceptable, but there is still a lot of room for improvement in sound insulation, supplies, hygiene details and breakfast."

"Stepping into the hotel, I was immediately struck by its modern architecture, beautifully illuminated and incredibly stylish. Further inside, there's a huge lawn courtyard, and when the lights come on at night, the ambiance is absolutely magical. Strolling along the winding paths, admiring the illuminated gardens and trees, it felt like I was staying in a private estate. From check-in to check-out, the staff were exceptionally warm and attentive. They proactively helped us with our luggage and thoughtfully recommended fun places to visit nearby, making us feel right at home."

"This hotel boasts an excellent location, right by Paifang Street's Zhuangyuan Arch. It even has its own parking lot, though navigating into it requires some serious driving skills! It's just a short walk, a few hundred meters or about ten minutes, to Guangji Bridge or Bangyan. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and Zhenhai Tower is super close, only about 200 meters away, with a square where people usually catch taxis to various attractions. The hotel rooms are incredibly spacious and impeccably clean, and all the staff are exceptionally warm and friendly, mostly young men and women. The room amenities are very comfortable, and the bed is massive – truly the best hotel bed I've slept in throughout the Chaoshan region. While breakfast is simple, it's clean and tasty, with the freshly ground coffee being a particular highlight. The staff are all incredibly attentive and enthusiastic! Although the hotel is relatively new, there are no strange odors in the rooms, and all the facilities are continuously being improved. They even gave us a souvenir when we checked out. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Chaozhou!"

"I highly recommend this B&B! Not a prank, no prank! We were seven adults with a baby and stayed in a two-bedroom, one-living-room room with a king-size bed. The room was huge! Very clean and perfect for a get-together with friends and drinks! I forgot to take a picture, but the owner even turned on the air conditioning in advance. It was such a delight! Since I had a six-month-old baby with me, the owner was so thoughtful and provided a playpen. The bathroom had separate wet and dry areas, a smart toilet, and included a disposable toilet seat and bath towels. Even the toothbrush cup was beautiful. The owner really paid attention to detail. There was also welcome fruit! It was a Chaoshan specialty! When I checked in, I asked the host for recommendations for good milk tea and good food. Not only did she recommend it, she even took me on her electric scooter to buy some ice cream. The next morning, she even brought me her go-to rice noodle rolls! They were so delicious, I devoured them straight away. Thank you so much, host. She was so welcoming and even reminded me to put away my clothes if it rained. She was so kind. I love this B&B! I'll definitely come back next time! (My dog got sick the past couple of days, so I'll come back to play with him next time.)"

"I had a really comfortable stay here. The main thing was how clean everything was; the bed and pillows had no strange odors. The guy at the front desk was super nice and gave me very detailed directions when I asked. The soundproofing in the room was better than I expected – I didn't hear any noise from the hallway at night. The shower had great water pressure, and the drain was fast, which I was very happy about. If I'm ever in the area for business again, I'll definitely stay here."

"Booked two river view rooms. One was upgraded to a Guangji Bridge river view room, and the other offered views of an ancient pagoda on the other side. The rooms are very spacious, and the flower arrangements in the public areas are fantastic. You absolutely must try the hotel's breakfast buffet! There are four live cooking stations: various cheung fun (rice noodle rolls), kway teow/noodles, Chaoshan porridge, and Western-style omelets. The Cantonese dim sum selection is also extensive, with many different Chaozhou kway (dumplings/cakes) – they were delicious! A special thank you to Belle for her excellent service; she helped check my InterContinental membership, which allowed us to enjoy the in-room minibar for free."

"Plans change unexpectedly. My trip to Jieyang was switched to Shantou, and I booked the Shantou Imperial Hotel on Trip.com just half a day in advance. This isn't my first time staying here; it's a well-established five-star hotel, close to the high-speed rail station and not too far from popular food spots. After booking, I quickly contacted Linna, the butler I'd added on WeChat previously, to arrange a pickup from the high-speed rail. She responded promptly, asking for my train number, arrival time, and the number of people (very reliable!). She told me to just keep an eye out for her call upon arrival. To my surprise and delight, she also arranged a free room upgrade. Plans truly do change. While waiting at Puning high-speed rail station, I was informed that my train would be delayed by about 40 minutes. I contacted Linna immediately to avoid having the hotel car wait unnecessarily, but she informed me that the hotel's pick-up vehicle had already departed. She instructed me to look for a staff member in a red uniform upon arrival. I actually felt a bit bad about the delay. Once the train arrived at Shantou Station, as I exited the gate, I saw a sharp-looking young man in a red uniform standing at the exit, looking directly at our train's exit. We made eye contact instantly. He politely asked for my surname and confirmed some basic check-in information, then enthusiastically helped us with our luggage and guided us to the parking lot to get in the car (it felt quite fancy having a dedicated escort! 😜). During this time, he even called the driver to move to a more convenient pick-up spot to minimize our walking distance. After a few twists and turns, we finally arrived at the hotel. We quickly checked in, dropped off our luggage in the room, and began our culinary adventure. Given that it's an older five-star hotel, I must admit the facilities are a bit dated. The room also had some older fixtures and a faint smell of smoke. While the air conditioning seemed to help, an air purifier would have been even more effective in improving the room's scent. On a positive note, the water pressure in the room was excellent, making for a very comfortable and refreshing shower. The next day, when I contacted Linna to arrange a ride to the high-speed rail station, she was very proactive in communicating and coordinating with hotel management, even though our departure time was quite early (outside the hotel's normal shuttle hours). In the end, she ensured we arrived at the high-speed rail station safely and on time. To sum it up, while the hotel's hardware might not be the absolute best, the attentive and thoughtful service from the staff truly surprised and impressed me. This kind of warm service makes every guest feel genuinely cared for. For future stays in Shantou, I'll most likely choose the Imperial Hotel again. Such excellent service undoubtedly makes every guest feel comfortable and at ease."
