The hotel isn't far from Yishan Station, and there's a mall right in front, which is super convenient for grabbing food, drinks, and essentials. The location is great! The room also had a smart toilet, which was really comfortable for those colder days. I had a very pleasant stay.

Welcome amenities - The 'Glutton's Basket' included 2 bags of chips and 2 bottles of Atour tea. The Atour black tea was especially good. Late-night supper: I tried the late-night supper for 5 nights. The handmade noodles and wontons were excellent. The preserved egg and lean pork congee was slightly reddish and also tasted great. Weekend Buffet Afternoon Tea (available only on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays): I specifically changed my train ticket to experience the afternoon tea. Both the late-night supper and afternoon tea were served in the breakfast restaurant. The window seats for afternoon tea were particularly fantastic.

Pros: The room was quite spacious for Shanghai and well thought. The shower unit with small sink is separated from the toilet. Water pressure is ok. The beds were comfortable. The room was cleaned everyday. The hotel is situated in strategic location but expected to walk around 12-15 min to the nearest metro station. Cons: The infrastructure doesn't look that old but it won't age well for example so parts were falling out as the outlet cover after one use. We went end of March/beginning of April and the A/C unit/central unit wasn't ready so we couldn't use it which means that the room temperature is constantly around 25/30°C during the day even with windows opened. The staff is really passive during check-in no explanation for how to use the eleveator that are in the buidling next door. Some renovation works were happening during our stay and we were never informed properly ahead such as the laundry room being moved to another floor or the main hall being blocked so you have to use another entry.

The room was a bit smaller than I expected, but it was very clean. My favorite part was the small patio and the checkered gate at the entrance, which gave it a lovely old Shanghai charm. The service was thoughtful; on the day I checked out, the cleaning lady arrived early but waited outside without disturbing me until I left. I only noticed her as I was heading out, and she was very patient.

Absolutely wonderful! My family and I stayed here, and the cleaning staff and the youngest lady at the front desk were incredibly helpful and accommodating. They took care of all our concerns. Loved it, loved it!

I love the location as an “old Shanghainese”. The classic old Shanghai style pastries are impressive ! I really enjoyed the newly opened 8th floor lounge. The service at the lounge was so welcoming, thanks to Brenda, Maggie and Helen. I stayed at the hotel on and off over a week period. I have to say I really enjoyed the time at the Lounge. As a whole the staffs at the hotel are outstanding. I will mention 小尤with the bellboy team who has been very helpful. However, I am not too crazy about the old black uniform of the guards at the front, especially the way they were not fitted. They look like a bad image from the old society!

My stay was quite pleasant, and the service was exceptionally good. I called ahead to reserve a specific room, and they even sent up some fruit. The hotel facilities are quite comprehensive, with a laundry room, dryer, and garment steamer, plus a free gym. The location is excellent, offering great value for money. Transportation nearby is very convenient, and it's just a few minutes' walk to Metro City and Plaza 66.

The front desk staff were very friendly, and the cleaning auntie was meticulous and diligent, which made our stay very comfortable. Thank you all!

I stayed at this hotel for two nights. Overall, the hardware facilities are quite good, the room is clean and well-equipped, offering great value for money compared to other hotels in the same price range. However, when contrasted with hotels of similar caliber, there's significant room for improvement in service and attention to detail. Here are a few objective points: Firstly, the service lacked warmth and approachability. Staff members tended to be serious when greeting guests, and their responses felt stiff. There was a noticeable absence of the warmth and proactive service expected from a high-end hotel, making the overall experience feel cold. Secondly, their handling of issues wasn't transparent enough. On the first night, there was significant noise in the room, which affected my rest. Although the engineering department confirmed the issue, the service staff didn't acknowledge it directly, instead attributing the cause to external factors. They lacked accountability in resolving the problem, which was disappointing. Although I was eventually moved to another room, the initial experience left a sour taste. Thirdly, the convenient amenities were not comprehensive enough. Food deliveries had to be picked up from a locker; there was no robot delivery service to the room. Laundry was only available as a paid service, with no self-service washing or drying facilities, which is quite inconvenient for guests. Finally, the staff's professionalism needs improvement. When I inquired about operating the room's fresh air system, the staff member was unfamiliar with it and couldn't provide effective assistance. Basic service training still needs to be strengthened. Overall, the hotel has a good foundation. If they can refine their service attitude, sense of responsibility, amenity details, and staff professionalism, the quality would improve significantly. I'd give it 4.5 stars, looking forward to future improvements.
