Hotels in Yu Garden Area, Shanghai

This hotel is 8-9 years old, and the facilities are quite poor. There's absolutely no street view. I initially went to the Marriott Renaissance by mistake, which is around the same price and also has similar operating hours, but it's in a much higher building. If you're not in one of the street-facing rooms at the Mercure, you're looking right at the back of a residential complex. 😢 The late-night snack was just noodles and wontons from that day! And the breakfast the next morning 😂😂😂 was even worse... I arrived at 9:20 AM and most of the food was gone, and they weren't restocking it promptly. I observed that by 9:45 AM, there was hardly anything good left. If you want breakfast, you better go early! I came here based on Ctrip reviews, but honestly, it was just mediocre. I don't know why it has so many good reviews! The Marriott Renaissance, for a similar price, offers city night views (not of the Oriental Pearl Tower, though) and an indoor pool, and it's closer to Yu Garden. The two hotels are only about a 10-minute walk apart! Anyway, if there's a next time, I'll definitely choose the Marriott Renaissance. 😂😂😂 Oh, and the hairdryer in the hotel 😂😂😂 had a bad connection; I had to hold it to make it work. I also don't know if it was just my imagination, but when I first entered the bathroom, there was a slight smell of urine... and my nose is particularly sensitive. To sum it up in one sentence... this room is not worth 1200! The service, however, was very good! No doubt about that.

This was my first stay at this hotel, and I found it to be excellent value for money. To find a hotel of this quality in the city center is quite impressive. It has all the amenities you'd expect, and the housekeeping staff were very friendly. The front desk service was also very attentive. Its proximity to the metro station makes getting around incredibly convenient. The hotel also boasts a lot of greenery, creating a very pleasant environment. Highly recommended!

Crystal Orange Hotel Yu Garden is genuinely great! It's right next to Yu Garden, making it super convenient for sightseeing and dining. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had strong pressure and hot water. The breakfast offered both Chinese and Western options, which was very satisfying. The service was warm and welcoming. I'll definitely be back!

We booked a family-friendly scenic room, and the night view was absolutely stunning. You could see the 'Shanghai Trio' (Lujiazui skyscrapers) and Yu Garden. Even with an extra child's bed, the room was still spacious and comfortable. The rooms with Oriental Pearl Tower views would have been a bit small with an extra bed, so we opted for this one to enjoy a different kind of view, and it was perfectly situated. We could see the Yu Garden area lit up all night long. Getting around was super convenient; Yu Garden was very close. Just across the street, past the zebra crossing, was the subway station, making it incredibly easy to travel. The subway goes directly to Hongqiao Railway Station and the airport. The staff provided excellent service, and the breakfast was a rich mix of Chinese and Western dishes. Overall, I was very satisfied and will definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Shanghai.

I loved this place, and boutique describes it well. From the moment I set foot in the front door I felt right at home with the friendly welcome. Staff could not do enough to help, and their smiles brightened the day of this weary traveller. This extended to the crew staffing the restaurant and bar on the fourth floor where I enjoyed a few very well priced cocktails while soaking up the city views. My room was comfortable and clean and the bed was dreamy. And talk about location!!! A moments walk from gardens and walking street shopping with a charming little bar next door. The biggest problem I had was deciding what to eat for breakfast which the ample options on offer. I highly recommend

Had a wonderful stay! The place was clean and tidy, and it's just a few minutes' walk from Yuyuan Garden Metro Station. The decor was lovely, and the air freshener smelled great. The owner was also very easy to communicate with.

We were out with the kids and it was super hot, so we decided to pop into a hotel for a quick break. This place is really convenient for the subway; the entrance to lines 8 and 9 (exit 1) is right outside. The front desk staff were great, the place was clean, and the AC cooled down the room super fast. I'd definitely recommend checking it out!

The hotel's location is pretty good, situated in the Yuyuan business district. It's bustling downstairs. A short walk right out of the hotel brings you to an intersection, where across the street, the Sanku Restaurant offers unique and tasty dishes. Yuyuan Garden is also diagonally opposite the intersection, though personally, I feel it can't quite compare to the gardens in Suzhou and Yangzhou. The Bund is also quite close, about a 10-minute walk away. The hotel's facilities are relatively new, and while the rooms are a bit small, it's acceptable. The cleanliness is also decent. The front desk is small, but the service is good. Plus, there's a nice rooftop garden on top of the hotel. Overall, it's a decent hotel, offering reasonable value for money. If you're looking for a lively area for shopping, this could be a good choice.

The receptionists, 以沫 and 三金 were incredibly helpful. They are quick and efficient, very friendly, and were great in assisting us during check-out 😁👍 Even provided us with neck masks and body lotion on check-out, wishing us a safe and good trip to Suzhou. I highly recommend anyone considering a trip to Shanghai to book at Demores Hotel. Room was clean, service was prompt, very big rooms that are worth the price, location is very prime as its just a stone's throw away from Laoximen Station. Any food delivery items are brought to you by a robot :D And there's AI assisted voice control for the room, I don't have to lift a finger to turn off and on the lights, TV, or even close the curtains.

The front desk service was excellent; they even responded to WeChat messages late at night. It's pet-friendly, and they didn't charge an extra pet cleaning fee, which is quite rare. The breakfast was also rich and varied, and the chicken noodle soup was delicious. The hotel's location is great, making it convenient to go anywhere.
