DDouglas JamesWe arrived just as the hotel was subject to a power cut. The young guy receptionist took us to the room as our door keys would not work due to the electricity outage. The electricity came back on in reception about 5 minutes later but someone had to go room to room to reset each rooms supply. Some 2 hours later after having sat in the dark unable to unpack and several tracks to reception and being told we were priority we gave up and went out to dinner in the clothes we travelled in after a 4 hour 30 minutes flight. Other hotels were affected in the same street apparently.
Once this issue was sorted by the time we got back from dinner everything was great. Lovely breakfast, lovely room with Molton Brown shower gel, shampoo and hand soap and lotion. Lovely pool and no issue getting sun beds. Short walk to the beach and dunes but a lot of steps up and down. Also 10 minute walk to Yumbo shopping centre which had everything you needed from great shops to excellent restaurants and bars. Great place for LGBTQ to meet up and great place to people watch.

LLANThis time, I booked two five-star hotels on the island, both of which are owned by riu. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. The desert is right next to it. The sunset is particularly beautiful, and the hotel staff are also very enthusiastic. The swimming pool is a saltwater swimming pool that feels like swimming in the sea, and the room is not bad. Mine is a pair of two single beds put together. You can also note that you need a single bed. There are a complete range of food and beverages, and you really get what you pay for. The hotel is not too big, but although the sparrow is small, it has all internal organs. The only thing is that when the wind blows near the desert, a lot of sand will be blown, but it doesn't matter if you go back to the room and take a shower. There are buses and taxis outside the hotel, the transportation is convenient, there are restaurants, bars and shops everywhere, and it is a very mature place for vacation and tourism.

GGuest UserThe “Pool View Suite” had no view of the Pool. No way are they of 4 Star Standard either. Lots of Cracked tiles and very shoddy and aged..
Food was very good and plentiful.. The staff extremely friendly, but at €300 a night, we felt very cheated with everything about Room 812 that was deemed a “Pool View and Garden View Suite”!! Besides zero view of the Pool, it was of very aged decor and in urgent need of modernisation.. Not to
mention the Gardeners making noise with machinery from around 4am In the morning..

DDaniel Serra BonedThe service and staff were great, the cleaning was very good, the location is not bad, but it is not close to the beach, but if I want to make a negative review with the outdated state of the building, we were very disappointed that an establishment of the Axel group was In this state, we chose the establishment because it belongs to the Axel chain which has very good taste and decoration. The Axel Maspalomas leaves a lot to be desired and the apartments, bathrooms and interior of the building are very old and not renovated, it only has a slight facelift.
At this point, very bad and total disappointment for us.

GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located in the city center, 10 minutes from a beach area with many restaurants and shops. It has a large, clean lobby and a rooftop area with umbrellas, chairs, and loungers.
On the rooftop, there are two small warm-water pools, a bar, a tanning area, showers, and bathrooms.
The food selection is very wide and good, but it varies greatly depending on the style of the place, so if you're looking for something similar to Italian cuisine and/or healthy, you'll have to give it a bit of a miss. I mean, the food is good and varied, but it tends to be highly processed and therefore heavy on sauces, spices, and oil, which limits the choice for those who prefer simple dishes.
The rooms are nice and clean, and due to a problem with the shower glass, a technician came to fix it within a few hours.
The selection of drinks at the bar can be interesting for those who drink alcohol, which costs more than soft drinks. The soft drinks, in fact, are mostly juices and mixes with supermarket items. Let me explain: the cocktails are good, but the juice is made with tea powder or is the low-cost kind. If you're expecting juices or drinks with fruit in them, you won't find them.
Breakfast, on the other hand, is very varied and can satisfy your needs in a healthier way than lunch and dinner. Even here, however, the juices and hot drinks are powders mixed with water. The coffee is good, but it's not coffee like it's made in Italy...
