Parklands Motel & Apartments Te Anau ★★★
"The room was spacious and very clean, and the kitchen was well-equipped, perfect for cooking. The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from Lake Te Anau. The front desk closes at 7 PM, and they leave the keys at the door for self-check-in. It's about a 2-hour drive from the fiords, making it a good base for those visiting the fiords. The price was a bit on the high side."
Fiordland Lakeview Motel and Apartments ★★★★
"I don't even know how to review this hotel, but I can only say they're purely profit-driven. I strongly advise against pre-booking this hotel if you're planning a trip to Milford Sound, as the weather there is often cold, wet, and unpredictable. Driving there yourself, especially if you're unfamiliar with the roads, can be quite unsafe. You'd be much better off booking a day tour from Queenstown to Milford Sound and returning the same day. Once you book this hotel, they won't issue a refund, no matter how many days in advance you try to cancel. I travel abroad every year, and this is the first time I've encountered such a frustrating situation. Oh well, I'll just consider the 1,000+ yuan lost. At least Trip.com provided some compensation."
Te Anau Lakeview Holiday Park & Motels ★★★★
"The staff were friendly and welcoming, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was clean but no bins inside, no shared utensils, you have to purchase the kitchen basket from reception for $5 + $20 refundable bond"
Fiordland Hotel ★★★
"It's very quiet here; it's a small town."
Lakeside Motel & Apartments ★★★
"The motel is located directly in front of the lake, it offers a great view from the rooms. There are also deck chairs and tables where you can have your meals there while looking at the lake. Room is very clean and spacious. I will definitely come back again."
Lakefront Lodge ★★★★
"We have a wonderful stayed here. Nice motel and near to The Lake Te Anau. Thank you."
Tasman Holiday Parks - Te Anau ★★★
"Good safe area, plenty parking. Clean rooms and good amenities."
Aden Motel ★★★
"Good friendly service, interior was getting on in age. Good enough for overnight stay."
Radfords on the Lake ★★★★★
"The room is big and nice, and my family likes it very much. My parents slept well, and the quality of paper towels and other supplies is excellent. The room is also very clean. This room is really the ceiling in this area"

Distinction Luxmore Hotel
"The surrounding environment is okay, everything in Te Anau is nearby, and the fjord is also very close. The natural scenery is good, and the breakfast is okay. It would be better if the breakfast can be paid in advance."
Distinction Te Anau Hotel & Villas
"Location: On the beach, within walking distance of the main shopping street Food: Breakfast had a variety of options, but the taste was lacking. Accommodation: The rooms were rather old, without air conditioning but with a standing fan. The bathroom was small. Service: Friendly"
Amber Court Motel
"The environment is great, the boss is very nice and enthusiastic, highly recommended!"
Te Anau Lodge
"It is highly recommended. The building has a sense of history and is well maintained. The garden is huge and the service is very warm."
Anchorage Motel Apartments
"Most hotels and guesthouses in New Zealand are rather old, perhaps due to the low number of tourists. While the facilities aren't very new, they're still adequate for a night's stay while sightseeing."
Marakura Deluxe Motel
"No service after 7pm, go there before 7pm if you require support from the reception."
Bella Vista Motel Te Anau
"For travel, the room is clean and tidy, and the location is excellent. You can see landmark buildings, and there are many dining options around. The price/performance ratio is relatively high, and it is suitable for travel and business trips."
Alpenhorn Motel
"A small, old motel with a few units. Reception wasn't manned throughout... They left an envelope with unit keys outside the office. Kitchen utensils were filthy. Bedding was ok. Ok enough for very short stay to visit Milford sound."
Blue Ridge Studios and Bed & Breakfast
"Everything wonderful, delightful hosts that would give as much or as little info as you wish. Comfortable, clean and superb fresh breakfast brought to your room. Short walk to town and lake"
Tukare Lookout
"Spent a night here before embarking on an overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound. Wish we could’ve stayed longer. The super king bed is supremely comfortable as is the large sofa. Breakfast provisions were extremely generous - eggs, avocado, tomatoes, fresh fruit, Greek yogurt, granola, juice, a whole loaf of bread, butter, jams and two types of milk plus two bottles of wine and some chocolate. I only wish we could’ve done it more justice. There is an outside tub for 2 which sadly we didn’t get time to use. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again"
Te Anau Lakefront Backpackers
"Very convenient location"
The Cinema Suites
"We loved our stay in Cinema Suites--make that two different stays! The suite has plenty of room to sleep and hang out, with comfy couches, a nice dining table and efficient kitchen--it feels like you are staying at a friend's loft apartment, not a hotel. With a queen size bed in the main space and a second bedroom with twin beds, it is ideal for a family or friends traveling together. Bathrooms are very well appointed and we were greeted by a lovely bowl of fruit and a nice bottle of NZ wine. Our only tiny complaint was that the reading lamps near the bed weren't really strong enough to read by."
Blue Thistle Cottages
"A lovely home away from home. The cottage was spacious and generously stocked with all the amenities one would need. Lovely owners who were super nice to us! The location was perfect for Milford Sound and Te Anau Glow worm caves. Highly recommend!"
Birchwood Cottages
"Good hotel for an overnight stay There is everything you need for cooking. Very friendly staff. Of the minuses, I would note the proximity to the road (noisy at night), There is a grill outside, but it is dirty and impossible to cook on."
