The environment is beautiful, although the swimming pool is a bit small. But it wasn't crowded, which was nice. The room was also very new, and the kids loved it. The bed was large, a 2.2m bed, and very comfortable to sleep in. It rained at night so we didn't go out and instead had the seafood buffet. We even got to scoop our own seafood, which the kids found fun and unique. For the seafood buffet, my child even said that the chocolate and ice cream cake, which came out last around 8 PM, were the best things they ate. The concierge was very thoughtful, helping to receive a delivery, even unpacking it and bringing it up, and also helping with luggage. The Beijing New Otani Hotel is an established five-star hotel in Beijing, boasting a prime location near a subway station and a wide array of dining options, including Wangfujing. The bedding was soft, and most importantly, the service was exceptionally friendly. We were in a hurry to check out and accidentally left our charger and important cards in the room. Manager Wang Zhaofeng immediately helped us search for them, responding promptly and quickly sending us photos of the found items, which instantly put our minds at ease. She then arranged for expedited shipping to mail them back to us. This kind of heartfelt service, anticipating and addressing guests' urgent needs, is truly commendable. We visited the hotel's breakfast restaurant once, and the variety was extensive, with excellent taste, quality, and freshness. The restaurant service was also timely and enthusiastic, leaving us very satisfied, especially the excellent service from Runze and Xiao Cai Gege. The hotel was in a great central location. We loved the smart controls in the room which help with lighting and opening the curtains from the bedside. The rooms only downsides were a funny smell specific to our room from behind the fridge and the bathroom door which stuck so hard it needed to be pulled shut and made a lid noise when doing so, some oil should resolve this!
Unfortunately when we arrived at 4:15pm from London our room was not ready which was very disappointing after a long trip. We had to wait another hour and go into the city to kill the time.
Also everyone should note this hotel has one lift and no stairs, for a hotel with this many rooms this is simply not good enough. The staff use the same lift as does the cute delivery robot. This meant we spent way too much of our time existing for the elevator to down and up. Given we were on the floor above reception this would have been unnecessary if the stairs were accessible. This was a major issue for us and was the only thing that spoiled the stay.

This Manxin Hotel is in an excellent location, making it very convenient for visiting the Forbidden City, the National Museum, and Tiananmen Square when touring Beijing. There are also plenty of dining options nearby. The room size was just right, and the facilities were quite new, with a super large and bright TV screen – though we didn't watch it much as we were busy sightseeing. The highlight was the excellent service. When we first checked in, we felt the second floor was a bit too low, and after discussing it with the front desk, they immediately moved us to the fourth floor. The fifth floor has laundry facilities, which was also very convenient. The breakfast was quite good, offering Chinese, Western, and Beijing specialties. During this stay, I truly experienced what it means to “be amidst the bustle, yet privately enjoy luxury.” Arriving on the afternoon of the 25th, from the moment I stepped into the lobby, that grand sense of tranquility isolated me from the noise outside the window. The room was super spacious, and the floor-to-ceiling window offered an unparalleled city skyline view, with the CCTV Headquarters (the 'big trousers') and China Zun tower side-by-side. That feeling of having the imperial capital at your feet instantly made the room rate worthwhile!
I must particularly praise the Kerry Club Lounge on the 18th floor! It was truly the highlight of my entire stay! The service from Ms. Lucy, Clara, and Seanna was simply delightful, making me feel incredibly welcome. The lounge's food, whether afternoon tea or evening happy hour, offered such a vast variety that it was hard to choose. The breakfast at 'Jia Pin Restaurant' on the morning of the 26th absolutely won me over—there were 7 ways to prepare eggs alone, plus fresh grapefruit. These kinds of details are truly a huge plus!
Although I know this hotel is a representative of the 'old money' opened in 1999, the facilities are incredibly well-maintained. That sense of profound grandeur, refined by the passage of time, is a quality new hotels simply cannot replicate. The gym and heated swimming pool are top-tier for hotels in China, with huge spaces and comprehensive equipment. Even just a swim feels like a luxury.

This was my first time staying at the Park Plaza. We came because my child had an exam at the Academy of Arts and Design's attached high school. When we arrived, I didn't even realize there was a hotel next door. What drew us in was the parking lot we spotted as we drove by, and it was indeed very close to the school. The security guard at the entrance confirmed there was plenty of parking, and we were impressed to find both above-ground and underground spaces. So, we decided to book a room. The price was reasonable, not expensive at all, and the hotel had everything: a restaurant, breakfast, and a gym.
Stepping into the lobby, it was bright, and a pleasant aroma filled the air, immediately giving us a holiday vibe and easing our nerves. The young lady at the front desk was incredibly warm and thorough during check-in. She double-checked our late checkout request multiple times to ensure it was fine. Knowing we were there for our child's exam, she even extended our checkout to 3 PM, which was a very rare and thoughtful gesture. Despite many students and parents checking in, it never felt crowded. The elevators were fast, room service was prompt, and the little robot delivering items was adorable and busy.
The room itself was spacious and clean. The first night, the hot water in the bathroom wasn't very hot, possibly due to a high number of guests, but the bathtub was very comfortable, and the bedding was cozy. There was a slight creak when turning over, but it was acceptable. Staff were quick to respond to any extra requests. Parking was free after registering at the front desk.

Room: The treehouse slide room was a huge hit with our little one. As soon as we entered, they were climbing up and sliding down non-stop, burning off so much energy! When it was time to check out, they kept asking to stay another night.
Dining: The Chinese restaurant is recommended; the food was good, and the prices were quite reasonable for a five-star hotel. The buffet restaurant on weekend mornings was very crowded, requiring a wait. It would be great if they could address the capacity issue during peak hours.
Hot Springs: The Tang Le Palace hot spring complex has many pools of various sizes, and they were quite clean. Both our child and we had a great time soaking and playing. We went on a weekend, and while it was busy, it didn't feel uncomfortably crowded, unlike some other hot springs that feel like a 'dumpling bath'.

Pros:
1. The hotel is nestled halfway up the mountain, offering fresh air and truly beautiful surroundings. It's a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle, and the hotel's decor and maintenance are quite good. Our butler, Bella, was incredibly meticulous and thoughtful, taking care of every little detail. She met all our needs, making our stay exceptionally comfortable.
2. There's a wide array of facilities and activities, including a mountainside hot spring, indoor pool, Hatha yoga, singing bowl therapy, a gym, and a kids' club. It's perfect for families, and the kids' club is large and newly renovated – it just reopened in May. It's definitely more fun than the kids' clubs at other hotels I've visited. Plus, children aged 4 and up can be supervised for free, which made my little one super happy!
3. The room key card came with a park map, showing hiking trails. There's an easy 5-kilometer mountain boardwalk, perfect for families, where you can visit the Eight Planets viewing platforms.
4. The breakfast was impressive! They had steaks, lamb chops, and a rich variety of both Chinese and Western dishes. However, the cured meats were generally a bit too salty.
Cons:
1. For a 5-star hotel, there was no safe in the room.
2. While there's an abundance of kids' activities, most of them come with a fee.
3. Since the kids' club was newly renovated, the smell was quite strong, making my eyes and throat uncomfortable.

The rooms are clean and tidy, and come with a balcony. When checking in, you need to register your vehicle to park in the underground parking lot 🅿️, otherwise, you might be charged a parking fee. We had three king-size rooms, and 1119 had the best view, overlooking the lake from the balcony, with a beautiful sunrise in the morning. The room directly opposite could see the golf course behind, which was great for sunset views. The bathroom and bathtub are in separate spaces opposite each other, designed with two sinks for simultaneous use. The front desk is on the second floor, and the connecting corridor to the hot spring ♨️ is also on the same floor, though it's a bit of a walk. The buffet restaurant is on the first floor. After booking the hotel, I saw a lot of negative reviews, which made me quite nervous. However, I found it to be pretty good in reality. The environment is beautiful and the air is pleasant, perfect for a relaxing 'lie-flat' vacation, so I ended up staying for three nights.
As a five-star hotel, the hardware facilities, room layout, and spatial design are all top-notch. The accompanying gym and pool are also excellent. The gym has water and towels, and a good range of equipment, so I'd give it a five-star rating.
The main complaint about breakfast seems to be the small restaurant, but I personally felt the food variety met expectations. The live cooking stations for noodles and wontons were quite tasty, and there were also specialty 'huoshao'. The omelet chef was very friendly, and there were several coffee machines, both capsule and regular. The hot dishes were indeed limited, only three or four, which is a clear drawback. Also, the small cakes common in other five-star hotels were missing. I'd give it a four-star rating, but it's certainly not bad.
The Chinese restaurant, however, offers poor value for money. It's expensive with limited variety, many dishes didn't inspire me to order, and the taste was just average. Overall, the dining is a relative weakness. The Jing A beer at the lobby bar wasn't expensive, though. There are many takeaway options, but the robot delivery was a bit slow.
The housekeeping staff were very diligent, providing plenty of water and amenities. I was just a little surprised that after excitedly bringing my own tea, there were no tea sets. It was also a bit inconvenient that there were no toiletries by the bathtub.
The front desk staff were also fine. The World Horticultural Exposition is right outside, and the complimentary hot spring tickets made it an excellent value. I hope they continue to operate well, and I would stay here again if I have the chance.
Oh, and the entrance and exit to the underground parking lot are a bit small, so be careful when passing other cars.FromCAD 108

Pros:
1. The hotel is conveniently located near the entrance to Simatai Great Wall. It's easy to access the Wall for hiking, and you can also enjoy views of it from the second floor of the room. The Wall is visible in the distance from the window, making it a secluded retreat away from the hustle and bustle.
2. The hotel offers excellent service. Housekeeping is prompt, and the staff are attentive and welcoming.
3. The duplex suite A is very spacious, perfect for families with elderly members and children. Kids, especially, will love rolling and crawling on the tatami mat.
4. Slippers and bath towels are replaced daily, and complimentary fruit is provided every day.
5. After checking out, I left my headphones in the room. The hotel proactively contacted me and arranged for them to be couriered to me, which I truly appreciate.
Cons:
1. The room is very inconvenient for elderly guests with mobility issues. The main bed is on the second floor, making it difficult for them to go up and down. The first floor has a tatami mat, which makes it hard for elderly guests to get up and lie down. If they need to get up at night, they would definitely need assistance.
2. While the room is large, whether the Japanese wabi-sabi style truly suits Chinese guests, especially for a hotel charging 5,000 yuan per night, is a question that needs consideration. The wabi-sabi aesthetic often translates to very sparse furnishings: no comfortable sofas, no bedside tables, no bedside lamps, and certainly no central control panel for all lights and appliances. The tatami mat essentially means sleeping on the floor with a low table, making it very inconvenient and challenging to get up, sit down, or place and retrieve items, which clashes with Chinese living habits.
3. The private hot spring bath in the room only has one switch for hot water, making it impossible to adjust the temperature. Its size is also awkward; it's fine for one person, but feels cramped for two. For a room type designed for six people, such a small bath is quite inconvenient. Furthermore, the inner wall of the bath is made of solid wood, raising concerns about hygiene.
4. The smart toilet was broken and remained unrepaired even after reporting it.
5. The two bedrooms on the second floor, designed to accommodate at least four people, share a single small bathroom, which is a very impractical design.
Additionally, the entire Gubei Water Town is not suitable for elderly visitors with mobility issues, especially those in wheelchairs. The flagstone paths are very uneven, and there are many steps, which would make a wheelchair ride extremely bumpy and uncomfortable.FromCAD 322

I've lost count of how many times I've stayed at NUO Hotel Beijing. We've been coming here every time we visit Beijing since my child was very young! This time, the front desk staff, Mina, upgraded our room and gave us complimentary executive breakfast on the 25th floor, which was much appreciated! The breakfast selection was small but exquisite, and the service was excellent.
There are many kid-friendly attractions around NUO Hotel, and the pool is also very clean. Among hotels in Beijing at a similar price point, the location and value for money are top-notch. We booked a twin room this time, and they combined the beds into a super-king, just like at Universal NUO – a big thumbs up!

We had a fantastic stay at Scitech Hotel in Beijing and were very happy with the entire experience. Everything was excellent from start to finish. The rooms were clean, comfortable, spacious, and well maintained, and the breakfast was great with a good selection of food.
What really stood out, however, was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. A special mention has to go to Ethan Qi, who was exceptionally kind and helpful. He genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience and made us feel very welcome.

My stay at the Waldorf Astoria Beijing was absolutely perfect, earning a full five-star review! I experienced both the main building and the traditional courtyard rooms.
