Kolkata Hotels with Balcony

My husband used this hotel as a base for a 2 week business trip. The staff were very friendly and attentive to my needs. The location is in the heart of New Town which is very green. I’d stay here again if I have to visit for work.

My go-to place for the airport. Very friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Aircon works well. Plenty of nearby eating options. 15 minutes drive to airport (at least when traffic is light). Very good price to quality ratio. Only one thing: I wasn’t quite sure how clean the sheets were, I believe they could be even cleaner. But even with this doubt, I will come again.

Good for a one day trip. Nothing much to do there. There should be some activities planned and driven by the ***agement. Staff behaviour is excellent and they accomodated all our requests.

Good location for tourist spots but quite noisy if you don't like the constant noise of beeping horns from the nearby road (not sure if it is even possible to escape this in India). It did get better between say 10.30pm and 8am). The train (immediately outside the hotel entrance) screeches by but not frequently, boat engines can be heard in the distance but it's on a river 😅. It was a bit of a party boat on some nights (loud and late disco noise if there is an event). The noise stopped at around 9pm one night but went on much later on another night; if your room is close to the bar it may be an issue was wasn't too bad for me as i use ear plugs. The most irritating noise, believe it or not, is people shouting or having loud conversations in the corridors. The room is 3* and there is no safe for your passport, cash, cards etc. The pillows, bed covers and floors were't cleaned particularly well. I had to help myself to consumables from the corridor as they weren't topped up by cleaners. Anyway, a very brief stay could be a good experience, one night maybe.I am pleased to have had the experience and despite the shortfalls would probably recommend it as a one off unique experience, for one or two nights. The breakfast was very good with lovely river views and a chill atmosphere.

The food was also delicious.
