St Julian's Hotels with Bars

This hotel is located in St. Julian's, which I believe is the most bustling and vibrant area in Malta. It's super convenient for getting around with taxis readily available. Right downstairs, there's a supermarket, a Starbucks, and a gelato shop. A short walk takes you to a shopping mall and a street full of bars – truly an excellent location! The rooms are new and modern, and the balcony is spacious, perfect for drying clothes. Breakfast is quite good too (semi-buffet style). There's a swimming pool on the top floor, but it closes a bit early; in summer, it's already closed by 6 PM.

The location is convenient with many restaurants just outside. The hotel has its own private beach, so you don't have to deal with crowded public beaches. However, the waves on the hotel beach were quite strong. The rooms were spacious. We booked one sea-view room and one garden-view room, but the front desk assigned them very far apart from each other. The breakfast ingredients were excellent, and there was a wide variety of choices. The service was great, and the gym was well-equipped.

The cleanliness of the room was very good; everything was tidy and well-maintained. I also want to give a shout-out to the lady at the front desk: since I don't have a credit card, she went out of her way to find a solution for the deposit, even though this wasn't clearly communicated beforehand. Negatives: Unfortunately, the negatives outweighed the positives, making the stay very stressful: * **Poor Soundproofing due to Connecting Door:** There was a connecting door between my room and the neighboring room. I could hear every word my neighbors said – privacy was unfortunately non-existent. * **Misleading Air Conditioning:** The central air conditioning didn't work and was also very complicated to operate. After I complained, I was promised that someone would look into it. The fact that they simply put a fan in my room instead felt disrespectful, as I explicitly booked and paid for a room with air conditioning. * **Incomprehensible Balcony Rule:** The room has a balcony, but smoking is prohibited on it. You have to go all the way to the 8th floor to the reception area to smoke. This is illogical and extremely inconvenient. * **Lack of Information Regarding Deposit:** Although I had already paid everything in advance via Trip.com, a deposit (credit card or €100 cash) was required upon arrival. There was no prior information about this, which led to unnecessary stress during check-in.

We stayed for 4 nights in Room 101. Unfortunately, there was a water leakage issue in the shower. We contacted the night shift staff, and they offered to arrange a room change the following afternoon. The next day, we spoke again with the Thai staff member at check-in regarding the issue. He responded very professionally, immediately arranged for us to view a replacement room, and even upgraded us to a room with a jacuzzi. We truly appreciated his excellent service and helpful attitude. The hotel facilities are very good. Both the indoor and outdoor swimming pools are free for guests to use, which was a great benefit. The sauna facilities were also excellent, especially after a workout. However, the breakfast selection could be improved. The hot dishes remained the same every day, and watermelon was only available on one occasion during our stay. The catering staff were polite and efficient, despite also having to support the kitchen operations. One of the front desk ladies appeared to be a new staff member. She did not greet guests proactively and seemed to require reminders from her colleagues to complete certain tasks. Overall, for a 4-star hotel in Malta, the hotel has good facilities and service, but there is still room for improvement, particularly in the catering and breakfast experience.

A lovely stay overall. Nice, modern hotel in a central location. Staff overall very friendly. A couple of minor snags, requested an extra bath towel to be told they had none left.. we had to wait till the following morning. For a 4 star hotel this is unacceptable. Also the breakfast staff are too keen in cleaning up your table.. we left our food at the table to get some juice and came back and they'd cleared our plates away. Admittedly they did apologise. Overall I'd still recommend this hotel.

Nice clean hotel in the middle of party strip. Still silent room. Carpets in hallways need a deep clean as they smell real bad atleast on the 8th floor, Guests smoked **** by the pool even though illegal and staff didn’t mind. Breakfast leaves a lot of space for improvement. Bar at pool charges prices that are not on level with cocktails sold. Pillows ******. Other than that a good hotel.

I HAVE LOVED MY STAY. First time visiting Malta, booked the room last hour and I did not regret. The hotel was beautiful, and I booked the lower categorie room, still was amazing. It is located in the heart of the party district, so if you are in Malta to party. It is ideal. Very silent rooms, great space, comfortable bed. If you are planning a more sexual adventure trip, the ceileing mirrors and some fun chains in the room might help you out with the fun. Either you go with someone or want to meet someone in the island just for fun. The Spa and piscina are fantastic and a great place to relax or even start the day. The breakfast buffet options were awesome and everything was freah and delicious. St. Julian's it is also very central in Malta, so if you want to plan and travel around, the location is fantastic to be able to see so many other places in the Island. When it comes to the service and staff. Everyone was impeccable. From the reception team, to the security, to the waiters and even the cleaning team. Everyone was always very nice and helpful. Met Sandra, on my arrival, and coincidentally she was also working 3 days later when I was checking out, She did a great job. The Hugo's group have a few more of their places around, Hugo's Pub, Bacco by Hugo's, the Hugo's Burger and others, but these were the ones I also checked out and again, everything was great. I tolally recommend a stay in here. 10 out of 10 for me.

We would highly recommend Verdi St George to anyone looking for a first-class holiday experience. We are already looking forward to returning in the future. The staff was really helpful. The room was very cleaned and the view from the hotel was amazing.
