We booked this eco-friendly hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is very conveniently located: there's a metro station nearby, as well as two shopping centres. The hotel is large, but there was quiet and peaceful.
The view from the window was beautiful, even despite the typhoon that was hitting Shanghai these days (our room was on the 12th floor. We chose the hotel because of its location and good breakfasts. The breakfasts were really very delicious and tasty.
There was both Chinese and European food. A wide selection of fruits: watermelons, melons, apricots, mangoes, bananas, dragon fruit. There were many different pastries, several types of yogurts, even matcha yogurt.
Also, at the exit from the restaurant, there was a Candy Bar with chewy marmalade: you can put the marmalade in a small bag.
The room had everything, including a capsule coffee machine, an ironing board, and an iron, which is very convenient. l'd especially like to mention the eco-friendly slippers, which really stand out from the slippers in other hotels: they're very comfortable. The staff was polite and quickly resolved any issues that arise.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, right next to Kerry Centre and just a few minutes' walk from Plaza 66. While the hotel's facilities are a bit dated, they are still perfectly functional. The executive lounge privileges are a real highlight, allowing us to dine entirely within the hotel, which was very convenient with a child. We were also lucky enough to see a rainbow after the typhoon – good luck to everyone!

Shanghai | Shangri-La Qiantan — got a complimentary upgrade and it was amazing 🏨

Checked into Shangri-La Qiantan in Shanghai, and they surprised me with a complimentary room upgrade. Such a nice touch!

The room was everything 👇
🛏️ Huge room, huge bed — so comfortable
📺 Two TVs — one in the living room, one in the bedroom
🚿 Two separate showers — no waiting, no fighting
🛋️ Full living room, plus a big fridge and a dining table, which made everything so convenient
👨👩👧👦 This room is honestly perfect for a family with kids — so much space to spread out

Breakfast was delicious, with a great selection and beautifully presented dishes 🍳
What really stood out — all the staff members speak English and were incredibly helpful throughout my stay.

The swimming pool is spotlessly clean 🧜♀️ and there's a jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. After a swim, soaking in the jacuzzi was pure bliss.

I had a truly great stay and would absolutely recommend this hotel to my friends. Shangri-La Qiantan, I'll be back ✨

The ultimate hotel at Hongqiao Airport, and it truly lives up to its reputation. My son really wanted to see planes up close. We'd previously stayed in a runway view room at the Marriott, which was great. This time, we booked the Shangri-La Executive Airport View Suite. It's an approximately 88-square-meter, linear layout with floor-to-ceiling windows directly facing the runway. You get an unobstructed view of planes taking off and landing – wings soaring through clouds during the day, and golden-edged sunsets in the evening. It's truly a sight you never get tired of.

The most pleasant surprise was the soundproofing – the hotel uses four layers of soundproof glass. Lying in bed, you can't hear any plane noise at all, and I slept unexpectedly soundly.

The suite comes fully equipped:

🛏️ Master bedroom + separate living room. The bedding is noticeably superior to standard rooms.
🍳 Washing machine, microwave, and induction cooktop are all provided, perfect for longer stays.
🚿 Master bathroom + guest bathroom with double showers, Hansgrohe showerheads + Dyson hairdryer.
☕ Capsule coffee machine + direct drinking water dispenser + complimentary minibar.
📺 65-inch TV + JBL audio + smart room controls.

As the world's first all-Horizon Club hotel, all rooms include executive lounge privileges. The Horizon Club Lounge on the 12th floor is the heart of it all:

Breakfast: Lanxi beef noodles, freshly wrapped wontons, Donghe roubing (meat pastry), Youbu soy milk – authentic Jiangnan flavors.
Afternoon Tea: Starts at 2:30 PM, perfect for watching planes by the window and relaxing.
Happy Hour: Starts at 5:30 PM, with fried rice, BBQ meats, and special cocktails. If you don't have high culinary demands, it can easily serve as dinner.

And the location is a true game-changer – direct access to the departure level of T2. If you have an early morning flight, you're practically there upon arrival. Just a two-minute walk with your luggage to check-in. They also provide a quick security check pass for the dedicated Channel 5 at T2 domestic departures.

💡 Minor drawbacks: The hot water pressure was a bit low, and there weren't many Western options at breakfast. But these are minor issues; it's hands down the best choice for a layover in Hongqiao or catching an early morning flight.

We stayed for four nights with our child, and the facilities and service were excellent, truly five-star standard. The only thing missing was robot delivery service for meals, but picking up from the express locker at the door wasn't inconvenient at all, quite handy actually. The location is superb, right at Guomao, and with Metro Lines 1 and 11 nearby, it's incredibly convenient to get to the Forbidden City, National Museum, and Universal Studios. There are also tons of shopping and dining options all around.

I have to give a huge shout-out to Hanna at the front desk! I booked a ”pay-at-the-property” room this time and was a bit worried about a complicated payment process. But Hanna was super efficient, sending a QR code for payment right away and guiding me through it. The whole thing took less than two minutes. To top it off, she proactively upgraded our room for free, and we found a welcome fruit platter waiting for us as soon as we entered – instantly putting us in a vacation mood. After checking out, I contacted her to get an invoice, and she responded incredibly quickly, no delays at all. The entire experience was simply seamless. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in this city, all thanks to front desk staff like her who deserve repeat business!

The breakfast had a lot of Western options, likely because there were so many foreign guests. Housekeeping was quite prompt, but the facilities are a bit old. The anti-slip mat in the shower was too small, and the shower floor was especially slippery. We booked a room with a sofa bed because we had a child, but upon check-in, we thought it was just a sofa and couldn't be opened. So, the three of us squeezed onto one king-size bed for two nights. It wasn't until the third day that we realized the sofa could actually open into a bed. I feel that since the hotel knew there were three of us checking in, they should have proactively informed us and had housekeeping make up the bed. Even when we asked for an extra quilt and toiletries, no one mentioned anything about making up the sofa bed.

I spontaneously decided to take my child on a trip and stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel. First, let's get to the conclusion: the hotel's environment and facilities are excellent. The indoor children's entertainment facilities and outdoor water play areas are fantastic. Dining is convenient, with plenty of delicious food and even baby food, which is great for families with children. However, the room interior was just average and rather ordinary, and the soundproofing was mediocre, leaving much room for improvement.

Facilities: To support the 2022 Winter Olympics, the hotel was built in 2021 and is located in Shougang Park, converted from an old factory building. The front desk is on the third floor, while the first and second floors primarily house restaurants and banquet halls. The combination of industrial and natural styles is very creative overall. However, the rooms are quite ordinary and unremarkable. In response to energy conservation and environmental protection, the hotel does not provide bottled water or other beverages. Children's amenities need to be requested separately from the hotel front desk.

Hygiene: Overall, the hygiene was good, and the room was quite clean. However, there was some mold in the room I stayed in, which I recommend addressing promptly.

Environment: On the first floor, there's the Bud Garden and outdoor water play facilities, making it great for families with children. I recommend going early at 10 AM or after 6 PM, when there are fewer people. Special thanks to the staff at Bud Garden for their politeness and strong service awareness. The surrounding Shougang Park has a beautiful environment and offers many activities.

Service: The food is excellent, both for breakfast and dinner. The Power Plant Bar offers the most beautiful moments in the evening.

The hotel's interior facilities are a bit dated, but the service quality is absolutely fine. It's very close to Luohu Port, within walking distance. The executive lounge offers à la carte breakfast, which is a nice touch, so I'd still recommend staying here. My only minor complaint is that they charge 15 RMB per page for printing, which feels a bit unreasonable for just three pages.

Had an amazing weekend stay here. The hotel is situated right in the heart of the Futian CBD, surrounded by great shopping malls and parks. We tried the buffet at Café Zen, and the seafood selection was fresh and diverse. The indoor heated pool and gym facilities were excellent and well-maintained. The room was luxurious, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. It is a perfect oasis in the middle of a bustling city. Special thanks to the staff for their warm hospitality!

Excellent value for the price! The hotel even agreed to a late check-out until 3 PM on our last day, which was incredibly considerate. The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was super big and comfortable – it was pure bliss. The service was prompt, and the hotel buffet was delicious 😋. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely book again next time.
