GGuest UserThis is a hotel in the town that specializes in weddings for local people. The service staff are more friendly. A bit like a hotel in a third- and fourth-tier city, the facilities are relatively simple. On the day I went, someone had a wedding. It seemed to be dancing in another building, but the room was quiet.
GGuest UserNice and clean, great location with convenience to the club next door.enjoyed a nice meal next door at the Texas Bbq restaurant.
Lovely big king size bed.
Secure parking for peace of mind.
Enjoyed the duel shower that was a nice touch.
Friendly staff
Will definitely stay again.
MMyOwnPrivateGlobeI liked the hotel, it was adequate for my purpose and I enjoyed my short stay. I was disappointed about no room service - tried to order across the two days, but nothing on offer on the digital menu like what was being offered on the cardboard menu left in my hotel room. That would have really made my stay, being that I was visiting Australia and hotel stays are a bit of a luxury for me. Only time I ever watch television is when I'm travelling in different regions. TV channels were a great first experience of Australian culture after arriving very late at night. MTV and Rage, heck yeah! Mind-blowing! In fact, more mind-blowing than that, stepping outside the hotel, wandering down to the Civic and hearing all kinds of wildlife at the sides of the road, just on the median strip that runs between roads, jittery bugs and birds! Hilarious and utterly wild. I LOVED how much of Australia has, seemingly, to an outsider, been preserved, conserved, and the amount of greenery between places - Newcastle to Sydney. England has sadly not fared the same. Anyway, my stay was good. Hotel staff were friendly, free water in carafes, downstairs at the bar. Best thing was I caught an amazing thunderstorm on the morning before checking out. Thanks, Mercure! Thanks, Newy! 😜 Love ya Australia. Be back soon!

GGuest UserGreat location, very comfortable bed, and excellent service. The food was also decent. They have Chinese-speaking staff available, which is a plus. The only downside is that parking costs $50 per night. Weekend rates are quite high, but it's much more affordable during weekdays. Also, Ctrip advertised breakfast at $29 per person, but the front desk quoted $35 per person.
WWangClean , great location, Thai restaurant next door is amazing.
Had to close all windows in the night otherwise can be a bit noise from people open and close the side door.
Spoke to housekeeping directly to request room to be serviced while we are away during the day, back late afternoon, nothing was done. Front office staff were nice enough to tidy the room and refill the bathroom amenities.
GGuest UserThe hotel has everything you need for a family holiday. It's conveniently located just a couple of stops from Newcastle Central Station and the city center. The restaurant offers delicious food and a great slide in the pool.
Hhuangke123This hotel may be a franchise store of best western, which is much different from the same brand hotel I have stayed in many countries. First, it is not a separate building, but in the street-side shops, the front desk is a convenience store cashier. Second, the room is very small, a space for hand luggage is behind the door, and the door cannot be opened when the box is opened. Third, the price does not include the usual simple breakfast, and there is no microwave in the room. The same thing is that the room is clean and the front desk cashier is very warm and friendly during service hours. We booked for the brand, the price is15-20% more expensive than nearby motels. Fortunately, I saw Australia's logo animals 🦘 and cockroaches in the nearby protected area.
GGuest UserSuperior location. The hotel has good facilities. In front of the gate is the river. It's safe, too. I do a lot of running in the morning. Next to it is a new shopping mall. Later, I found that there are many noodles to eat. You can also see the scenery outside. Very good.
