Great
LlkffThe room was very clean, almost at Japanese standards, with new carpet and modern facilities. The bed was comfortable and each room had four pillows, which was a nice touch. The TV supports Chromecast and the Wi-Fi was super fast.
Breakfast was a standard Western selection, and I was impressed that food was refilled quickly even close to closing time. The hotel is also in a great location, within walking distance to shops and restaurants.
The only downside was that the pillows didn’t feel very fresh and had a slight smell. Other than that, it was a very comfortable stay.
GGuest UserGreat location, very comfortable bed, and excellent service. The food was also decent. They have Chinese-speaking staff available, which is a plus. The only downside is that parking costs $50 per night. Weekend rates are quite high, but it's much more affordable during weekdays. Also, Ctrip advertised breakfast at $29 per person, but the front desk quoted $35 per person.
GGuest UserRead the fine print! We booked the highest level room balcony and ocean view. However on checkin we had balcony and Partial ocean view looking at a carpark. The only rooms that offer both are on level 4 and 5. Management were apologetic but unable to provide the room booked as they were at capacity. But they did offer complimentary breakfast and parking which was appreciated. The room we paid top dollar for was very disappointing but the service management provided means we will give them another go but request a room on 4 or 5.
MMyOwnPrivateGlobeI liked the hotel, it was adequate for my purpose and I enjoyed my short stay. I was disappointed about no room service - tried to order across the two days, but nothing on offer on the digital menu like what was being offered on the cardboard menu left in my hotel room. That would have really made my stay, being that I was visiting Australia and hotel stays are a bit of a luxury for me. Only time I ever watch television is when I'm travelling in different regions. TV channels were a great first experience of Australian culture after arriving very late at night. MTV and Rage, heck yeah! Mind-blowing! In fact, more mind-blowing than that, stepping outside the hotel, wandering down to the Civic and hearing all kinds of wildlife at the sides of the road, just on the median strip that runs between roads, jittery bugs and birds! Hilarious and utterly wild. I LOVED how much of Australia has, seemingly, to an outsider, been preserved, conserved, and the amount of greenery between places - Newcastle to Sydney. England has sadly not fared the same. Anyway, my stay was good. Hotel staff were friendly, free water in carafes, downstairs at the bar. Best thing was I caught an amazing thunderstorm on the morning before checking out. Thanks, Mercure! Thanks, Newy! 😜 Love ya Australia. Be back soon!
Note: Photos are screenshots from some videos I took whilst I stayed.
GGuest UserChifley is close to everything Newcastle has to offer.
The staff were wonderful! Helped me navigate bus and rail trips. Gave great recommendations on what to see and do.
The Facilty is spotless! The pool is great.
Thanks for the washing machine and dryer in the room.
Everything you could ask for and reasonably priced.
Thank you for a memorable stay and I’ll recommend to all my friends.
GGuest UserI have stayed at the Premier before
That's why I booked there
My preference of room was booked out for this stay
So I chose single room with shared bathroom and was a bit unsure what to expect
It wasn't terrible at all
I enjoyed having access to the balcony
I slept so soundly,I didn't move all night
I did dine in the bistro one evening the food was ready quickly and it was lovely
I was provided fresh towels for each of the 3 days I was a guest
I didn't utilise the communal kitchen but I think it is a great addition
GGuest UserOne bedroom and one living room apartment, kitchen facilities are complete to cook, tableware is enough for 4 people, near the university, driving for about five or six minutes, opposite is JESMOND CENTER, WOOLWORTHS Supermarket and Maidannu. Parking is free. Laundry and drying clothes are very expensive at AUD 10 each. The bedside table in the room is dusty and seems to be unoccupied for a long time. The bathroom water is easy to flow out - block it with a towel. Easy parking. Whether you are staying or booking separately, the towel will not be changed for you. To change it, it costs AUD 2. The front desk foreigner is like a manager or the owner is not friendly. Australian hotels do not provide slippers.
KKembara MJThe apt is managed by an agency which did not make an effort to contact you using other medium beside SMS. So, in convenience. At Aussie standard, the apt complex can be better clean - too many dry leaves on the ground - otherwise good place with good location.
