RRosario Davide D’AmicoThe hotel is located in a fantastic position. It has direct access to the beach promenade walk, very close to the night market (2 minutes walk), and very close to many other POI in the town.
The service is good, the guys at the reception are great, they’re kind and very happy to help for everything.

Only two issues:
- The room had a weird smell over the course of my trip (probably due to the air conditioner)
- The pool is too small compared to the size of the hotel
Other than that, a great stay and can’t recommend enough

MM15358****A decent five-star hotel. The room was spacious and even had a balcony, perfect for enjoying the refreshing sea breeze. It's located right in the city center, making it convenient to get anywhere – Cairns itself is quite small, so you can easily walk to most places. A taxi from the airport to the hotel was around 25 AUD.

HHennyP.My first room in building C was awful with the view of the opposite hotel. I could literally watch what other people did in their room and they could watch me as well. Also the room condition was so bad with crawling insects so I needed to upgrade the room. The upgraded room was fine with a poolside view and less bugs crawling on the wooden table. I understand there could be little creatures but just too many in the first room. Other than that, their food was delicious and staffs were kind and friendly. My kid loved playing in the pool.

DDannielleMy husband and I had a great stay at BreakFree Royal Harbour! We were pleasantly surprised by how close we were to all of the spots we were wanting to visit. When leaving the ground floor, you exit right onto the Esplanade! I’ve included a picture of the Ferris Wheel view from our window!

GGuest UserThis might be the place for you if you're between 18 and 25, like to party, don't mine hearing a disco drum beat until 2 am.
Otherwise, I recommend some place else.
It's at a great location,within walking distance of the mall, and many restaurants.

BBokkie TruongA comfortable, quiet apartment. Adequately equipped kitchenette and nice balcony. The service from Reception Staff was great in sorting out a few minor issues. Location is convenient for the Esplanade, trains & shopping malls.

DDexingegeCairns Central Plaza Apar**ent Hotel is located in the city center. The surrounding environment is quite good. It is close to a large supermarket (across the road), the train station for traveling to Kurland Forest (5 minutes walk), and even the cruise company for visiting the Great Barrier Reef is only 15 minutes walk. It is really convenient. There is a kitchen with all the kitchenware. You can cook delicious food, enjoy the scenery, and take beautiful photos. It is so beautiful. I want to book it again, maybe next year...

Facilities and grounds were well kept. Just didn’t like having to take used towels down and hand them to reception and exchange for clean ones.

GGuest UserThe Mantra Hotel has outstanding location. It is directly in front of the Woolworths supermarket - the best option in central Cairns. It's also virtually opposite (the esplanade side)the lagoon public beachfront swimming pool. Finally it's just a 5 minute walk from Cairns Cruise Terminal, with outstanding day trips to Green Island, Fitzroy Island and the Reef. I booked a sea view room. When you enter the room, you don't see the ocean, but a building across the road. However, the view from the balcony was amazing. The balcony overlooks the main features of lagoon on the sea front. During the day it is great view - the lagoon pools and sea in the background. At night you cannot see the sea (as to be expected) but you have the amazing lagoon lights, which makes it very desirable and even romantic. Our room was at the end of block, which overlooks a shopping mall (no car noise) - looking right from the balcony is the lagoon view and looking left is a mountain view. However, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm the sun comes directly into the balcony area, which means it unusable until sun sets. Of course if you don't mind baking in the sun on the balcony, this is not really a concern. The room itself is pretty basic. The mini fridge of OK and TV has domestic channels only - no cable TV for BBC/CNN. The bathroom is of a good size. There is combined shower & bath. However, when using the shower, it can slightly flood this bathroom. A shower curtain may be desirable because the glass panel is not sufficient enough. At $225 per night this hotel was not cheap and you can better deals by coming in the off-season OR going bit further down the esplanade, and choosing another hotel. The Mantra does have its own pool and it is wonderfully heated, with normal deck chairs you would expect at 4 star hotel. However, the pool gets very little natural sunlight, because it of its location between 2 buildings. Overall, the hotel has amazing location, and it is still recommended, despite the shortcomings mentioned. My final note: When we checked in, I was impressed with the level of service provided by the receptionist. She had a very welcome attitude and a wonderful personality.
