lawyeroscarchenThis is a pretty good hotel by local standards. It has a casino and the breakfast is decent, though it's a bit humid (which is typical for hotels in the Great Barrier Reef area). The room itself is very spacious, but the air conditioning blew directly on my head, making for an uncomfortable and restless sleep.

Guest UserThe room itself was generally acceptable, and the balcony view was fantastic. However, the service left a lot to be desired. We found a thumb-sized blood stain on the bedsheet that hadn't been cleaned. We reported it to the front desk, and they assured us it would be handled and that a manager would contact us directly. But nothing ever came of it. We had to call housekeeping again to have someone come and change the sheets. There was never an explanation or an apology, which made it feel like this kind of thing is commonplace and not worth making a fuss over. But from a guest's perspective, this is not a minor issue; it was extremely unpleasant both psychologically and experientially. Housekeeping also consistently missed things; we had to call for everything from towels to toilet paper! This 'five-star' service was incredibly disappointing. To be fair, we are loyal Pullman customers globally, but it seems only the Pullman Cairns has these shortcomings.

Great pool, very clean , excellent breakfast , yummy cocktails , dinner was amazing.
Only one thing bad was the pool sun lounges, the are very uncomfortable I had to sit in a bean bag.

My husband and I had a great stay at BreakFree Royal Harbour! We were pleasantly surprised by how close we were to all of the spots we were wanting to visit. When leaving the ground floor, you exit right onto the Esplanade! I’ve included a picture of the Ferris Wheel view from our window!

little_beeAn absolutely fantastic hotel! Right downstairs is the pier, super convenient for joining day trips to the Great Barrier Reef. It's just a 5-minute walk to the Lagoon and a 10-minute walk to the night market and restaurants. They provide complimentary water. The room is very spacious, with both a bathtub and a walk-in shower, and the balcony directly overlooks the ocean. They offer a complimentary happy hour from 5-7 pm with unlimited soft drinks, beer, and red/white wine. The afternoon tea and breakfast offerings change daily. For breakfast, you can also order additional egg dishes like eggs Benedict. The pool is huge, the only downside is that it's unheated, but it seems like many hotels here don't have indoor or heated pools.

SteveandTashaWe stayed here in 2024 and loved it so much that we come back this year ! It's situated in a great location, next door to Cairns Central so shopping was literally on our doorstep. The rooms are lovely and clean, there are 3 great swimming pools, and it's a nice walk to the esplanade where you can have a lovely walk into the centre and you'll have a great selection of eateries to choose from. Happy hour is offered by a lot of places, so we personally enjoyed having a drink and watching the sightseeing helicopter land right in front of you and watching the sun set ,it's just the best! It's also a pleasant walk to the Cock and Ball Pub going the other way but make sure you're hungry though because the meals are huge!!

Front counter were friendly and accommodating. Location was close to everything.
Facilities and grounds were well kept. Just didn’t like having to take used towels down and hand them to reception and exchange for clean ones.

The location was excellent. It was close to the ferry terminal, just a few seconds' walk from the Esplanade public pool, two minutes from the night market, and across the street from a supermarket—it was a fantastic location.
However, apart from the location, the only other positives were the water dispenser next to the front desk, the ability to smoke on the balcony, and the ability to watch YouTube and Netflix on the TV in your room.
The only negatives were the sheets and towels, which were unsanitary. The towels were stained and smelled bad, and the sheets smelled damp. The bathroom shower had incredibly weak water pressure, making it take a long time to rinse. The drainage was so poor that I asked the front desk for a replacement, and they fixed it while I was out, which improved it, but I still wish they'd done something about the water pressure. The on-site pool had a jacuzzi, but it wasn't very warm and wasn't very good. While the daytime staff were generally friendly and nice, the elderly man who came at night was overbearing and never smiled, which I found annoying. Having lived in Australia for about a year, I thought my English skills were good enough, but even after listening to him twice I still didn't understand what he was saying, and when I asked him to repeat himself he said ”That's enough,” and then ended the conversation. To be honest, it made me feel uncomfortable.
I remember not being so dissatisfied when I stayed at the nearby Mantra Trilogy a long time ago.
I don't have any plans to go to Cairns for a while, but I don't think I'll choose this hotel again.
Thank you to the staff for your kind assistance.
