Excellent
GGuest UserThe building itself looks a bit sketchy from the outside, theres no bright sign outside or anything, just an A4 sheet with their logo. But don't be fooled by this or the non working staircase because the stay is very much worth it! Great hosts, super clean and bathrooms are big and private very apartment like. The theme is very well implemented and the ambience is dark and quiet. My boyfriend is a bit claustrophobic and I was afraid he wouldn't feel comfortable but the 2 person cabin is very spacious and its okay to sleep with the door slightly open if you have to. Other than that you get a locker per capsule, fresh clean towels and theres a vending machine for hot drinks and snacks for breakfast. Surprisingly good!

Excellent
GGuest UserA cozy hostel with a hidden gem inside. The only Circus that brews is a really cool way to interest new guests. If I'll explain The Circus Hostel from the underground to the top, I appreciate the spacy luggage room for free. I also like the small bar under the ground that offered us a free beer sample which tastes really great. And I'm sayin it as a Czech. On the ground, there's a cute cafe, friendly and kind crew ready for everything that could happen and tram station right before the hostel entrance. Higher levels are just full of modern rooms and shared toilets and showers. You may miss the fridge and towels but reception offers both to borrow. And the bonus that i wanna mention is that there are many good stores, cafes and restaurants around Circus and metro station nearby.

Very Good
GGuest UserThis is great if you stay in Berlin for a few days. It’s good that public transport is right outside the hostel. It’s a bit far from the main city so you will have to get a few public transport to get there. The beds are squeaky but comfortable enough. The television is in German which is expected. There is no rooms with a shower or toilet in them, so you will have to walk to the shower and toilet. It is a shared bathroom. You will need to give separate deposit if you need towels and utensils and to wash and dry your clothes. The deposit can only be made in cash. There are no bins in the room but the rooms do have a fridge and a locker and a table and chairs. The hostel is great for sleeping and then leaving the next day to do activities.
ひひとり旅1good point
Walking distance to major tourist attractions
well cleaned and clean
Laundry (washing and drying) can be done for 5 euros
bad point
There is no kitchen and no place to wash water bottles etc.
dark corridor
Elevator is narrow
Hairdryers can be rented without a deposit.
There is no kitchen, but there is a water server next to the reception.
Other word of mouth said that there was noise, but I didn't feel it. Wasn't there a group of students staying? Maybe luck.
It's a large hostel, so I think it would be difficult if the toilet and bathroom were in a far room. This is also luck.
DDori BHighly recommended, closed to the underground station which is a plus. The rooms are well-maintained and clean. I stayed in a mixed dormitory, which was spacious and equipped with sturdy, comfortable bunk beds. Each bed had its own reading light, power outlet, and a privacy curtain, which is a thoughtful touch. People nice and respectful!

Very Good
GGuest UserThe hostel is very dirty. All the surfaces are sticky. There is a terrible stench in the rooms, toilets, corridors and lobby. Things forgotten by the previous tenants are lying around until they are thrown away by the current tenants. Mattresses are stained with brown stains, possibly menstrual blood (I was in the women's room). The pillows are crumpled and terribly uncomfortable. The beds stand so you can't fully open the window to air it out. The lobby is very noisy and smelly too, apparently there is no ventilation or it is blocked. Absolutely not recommended, even for 25€ a night! It's too much for this place.

GGuest UserI stayed only two nights at a&o Berlin Mitte with Contiki, the stay was comfortable. The four-share rooms were very small and a bit tricky to fit our four suitcases. We also had a run-in with staff at the front desk. For a four-share room, we only got two keys. When a member of our group asked for a spare key, she was denied then given a temporary card and was rudely told to bring it right back - but how could she get back into the room to bring it back??? Others in our tour had the same experience. Besides that, the breakfast was great.

GGuest UserThe Grqnd Hyatt Berlin is my stay of choice when in Berlin. It’s Potsdamer Platz location is ideal for the main sights, connects to the airport and many terrific eateries. The room and breakfast quality are excellent and it’s small enough to give personal service.
GGuest UserThis is not my first time staying at A&O Berlin. I have been there prior and immediately after the pandemics too. During this time, the quality of the service has been steady and a good one. The staff rather amicable and prompt to help with any issue you may have. Sometimes things do not work as expected (coffee machine, contactless purchases) but they will guarantee your stay is a smooth one. Breakfast is abundant and provide several options. I only wish the coffee could be better, but all in all is not bad. Also, maybe rooms could do with a bit of cheering up colour, besides the ones provided by the curtains. What I like the most about this hostel is the consistency with the chain principles and the fact that you will find all you need for a good stay, even tissues!
GGuest UserDecent hostel, relatively clean and facilities are good. Location is good has a tram and metro stop right outside. Only downside is upon arrival 3/4 of the locks didn’t work in our rooms so we had to get reception to fix. However, they were very efficient and felled straight away. Also to note that reception normally only has one staff member on so you might be waiting a while to be seen to
