GGuest UserOverall, this hotel is very good. From the moment we walked in, the staff asked us to beat a drum at the entrance, symbolizing good luck. While waiting to check in, they gave us blessing ropes, showing the hotel's thoughtful touches. The staff were very service-oriented, especially one girl with a very kind smile. She often waved us off as we left and waited until we got into the car, which was incredibly heartwarming.
The style and facilities of the hotel room were excellent. It had a courtyard-style balcony, and the bathroom was quite large with a good-sized soaking tub; it was generally very comfortable. However, all the rooms we booked were on the second floor, which was inconvenient for the elderly in our group due to daily stairs. Moreover, on our first day, the room below us was a pool access room, and they were noisy from the afternoon until past midnight. I called the front desk to complain at 9 PM, and they immediately sent staff to address it, but the noise started up again later. Closer to midnight, I messaged Trip.com to communicate the issue. The next day, a staff member found me during breakfast to apologize for the behavior of the guests downstairs and offered to change our room to a different type that day. I was very satisfied with the hotel's ability to resolve problems. If you need anything at the hotel, you can call the front desk at any time, including requesting a buggy to the restaurant and beach. The hotel property has many slopes, and it's quite hot, so walking isn't ideal. The beach is beautiful, and there are many free water activities. My child spent one day kayaking and another day paddleboarding.
The hotel's breakfast was a semi-buffet, semi-à la carte style. The variety wasn't small, but the overall quality was average.

AAnonymous UserThis place is a little piece of paradise. Away from the hustle and bustle and is quiet and calm. The beach is a few steps away. Although it’s not a swimming or tanning beach, you can make the most of your time there. I found a quiet spot on the beach and still enjoyed every second of it. The staff were all so friendly and go out of their way to help you and meet your needs. The breakfast was lovely! A variety of choices, that fill you up for the day of adventure ahead. The villa itself is large and spacious. The pool is just enough to cool off after a hot time on the beach. I will definitely be back when I’m in Samui again!

GGuest UserHousekeeping was not up to expectations, on day 2 after housekeeping, 2 pairs of slippers became 1.5 pair after we returned to room & it remained the same for the next 2 days until checked out. Tissue box ran out on day 2 was not refilled after housekeeping & was only done when I took out the empty box to show on vanity top on day 3. Bath tub n shower were separated but only 1 floor mat at bath tub area. On 3rd day the 2nd floor mat appeared finally at shower area. Staff were friendly & helpful tho’ & spa was running a promo 1 for 1 which was good. Gym facilities was good with shower room just next to it with towels & toiletries, nice! Location wise is not ideal as need transport to the market places & restaurants at Chaweng & Fisherman Village, spent a bit on grab….stayed 4D3N twin room garden view with balcony & enjoyed quietness & near to reception. BF was good!

LLaizibeijingdehanhandieFirst off, my inaugural trip to Koh Samui was full of delightful surprises. Over 95% of the tourists here are Westerners, with only a small number of Chinese visitors. The overall quality of tourists is high, and the city's service-oriented mindset is strong.
Secondly, choosing Centara Resort brought another big surprise to my trip. I booked a bit late, so only a garden-view twin room was available, but it was still great. I could see the pool, the beach, and coconut trees right from my balcony.
**Location:** Just a ten-minute drive from the airport, making transportation very convenient. Chaweng Beach, Samui's best beach, is right outside. Within a 15-minute walk, you can reach Chaweng Night Market, the bar street, shopping areas, massage parlors, Tops supermarket, Starbucks, and more.
**Service:** Full marks for service! From the moment you step into the hotel, you're greeted by a warm and enthusiastic front desk staff. They offer turndown service and a welcome fruit platter with mangoes, oranges, apples, passion fruit, etc. The room also includes complimentary hotel-exclusive nasal inhalers, which are the best I've tried in Thailand – I bought 10 more at check-out. The toiletries, shower gel, and shampoo all have a rich essential oil scent. As a bonus, there's a 'surprise button' on the room's landline phone; press it, and you get a surprise treat every day. The fridge is stocked with over four kinds of complimentary soft drinks, daily nuts, and banana chips, plus a facial mist. The restaurant also has a Chinese menu.
**Dining:** Breakfast offers a daily special dish alongside à la carte and buffet options. Over four days, I tried four different special dishes, including Northern Thai noodles, soup noodles, and Tom Yum noodles. For afternoon tea and dinner, the hotel has two more restaurants: one specializing in Thai cuisine and another by the beach focusing on Western dishes. Both are exquisite and delicious. The Thai restaurant offers a set menu for two, which takes the guesswork out of ordering and is good value for money.
**Recreation:** There are two swimming pools, a gym, and more. Plenty of daybeds are available by the beach, and as soon as you lie down, someone brings you iced water. I also saw people ordering drinks and coconuts. I plan to try the spa next time.
**Value for Money:** Traveling during the off-peak season, this hotel offers great value among the high-end options in Samui.
Finally, I'm delighted I got to stay at a hotel like Centara and grateful to every Centara team member for their warm service, especially Manager Li, the airport driver, housekeepers, F&B staff, and beach service staff.
**Recommendation Index:** 5 stars (out of 5)

AAnonymous UserActually, I was really impressed with many things, such as the excellent services from all the staff, the peaceful and private atmosphere, and the beautiful accommodations. The view from my room (Executive Suite Oceanfront) was stunning both in the morning and evening. It made me feel like I was getting my money's worth and that I made the right choice over a major 5-star hotel. Even though there was no TV or other entertainments, I was able to fully immerse myself in the accommodations and atmosphere.
Then, the last night here, I discovered a cockroach in the bathroom at night (around 10 PM). At that time, there were no staff were available to help me (there’s no in room telephone for any emergency call). So I had to remove the cockroach out of my room myself. When I notified the staff via Line, all I received was an apology and a thank you for letting me know.
When I woke up in the morning, everyone acted as if nothing had happened (there were actually lizards, but that was acceptable and understandable for me).
I didn't expect any major responsibility, but compared to hotels with rooms as expensive as 5-stars, I think cockroaches in the rooms are absolutely unacceptable. I think the hotel should handle customer feelings better. The hotel manager or management should be aware of this and have a better approach to handling customer feelings.

**Hardware:** The hotel itself is beautiful, but the facilities are just average – it feels more like an upscale guesthouse.
**Software:** There's a noticeable lack of hotel culture and service management, especially from the front desk staff. When I rented a scooter, the person was grumpy the whole time and quite rude, acting as if she were the customer and I was the server.
**Special Shout-out:** The two housekeepers who cleaned my room daily were incredibly diligent. One was a young woman and the other was older. They even helped look after my child, which made me feel very warm and secure whenever I saw them.

GGuest UserGarrya Tongsai Bay Samui is one of those places that stays with you.
What really makes the difference is the people. The service is excellent, but more importantly, it feels sincere. The staff are genuinely kind, always smiling, always present, and somehow they manage to make everything feel easy and natural. You never feel rushed or overlooked, just quietly taken care of. Special thanks to ”mamy” the fruit lady at breakfast that is a pure expression of joy and the Yoga and Muay Thai instructor.
The facilities are beautiful and very well maintained, but without feeling stiff or overdesigned. Everything works, everything feels comfortable, and there’s a calmness to the whole place that makes you slow down almost without noticing. Rooms, pools, spa, restaurants, all of it feels thoughtfully done.
The setting is something special. Surrounded by greenery and right on a peaceful bay, it feels private, quiet, and deeply connected to nature. You hear the sea, the wind in the trees, and very little else. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax.
Nothing here feels forced or flashy. It’s just consistently good, warm, and balanced. A place you leave feeling better than when you arrived.
Can't wait to be back to this special place.

I enjoyed the breakfast but think the hotel could add some variety to the western options. The croissants were not good quality.

LLewisbyI stayed at Conrad and Kimpton hotels on this trip to Koh Samui. There's no harm in comparing them.
The hotel's location isn't difficult to find; just follow Google Maps for directions. It's very close to Fisherman Village.
Check-in was smooth. The lobby is stylish and unique. Being off-season, it was less crowded, and the overall environment was peaceful.
However, upon entering the room, I noticed the hotel wasn't well maintained. The paint on the bathtub was peeling.
The pool and the wooden floor outside the room were warped and uneven.
The stone in the pool is very easy to cut. When I was about to shower after a dip, I found there wasn't enough hot water.
It's hard to imagine such issues at this price point.
Also, the room design made it difficult to open my luggage. My 26-inch and 20-inch luggage had to be handled by the coffee machine in the hallway.
The beach sand was very coarse, and I couldn't walk barefoot for a few steps without wearing flip-flops. I also saw a lot of anglers, which was a bit strange and detracted from the experience.
In the evening, I watched the fire show at the hotel bar. It was nothing like the one in Chaweng. It felt perfunctory and not exciting at all. The hotel has numerous sweet spots, offering 24-hour ice cream and drinking water. The staff are friendly and proactive.
However, the amenities don't justify the room rate. It feels like a purely check-in hotel. If you're not particularly fond of the W brand, there are other better options.
