GGuest UserStaying at Shangrila House with the host Julie is one of my best hotel experiences. Julie is such an awesome host, she is friendly, welcoming, helpful and with such a excellent taste. She keeps the house very clean, tidy, beautiful and elegant. I feel like I’m not paying nearly enough for the value of the house. Super grateful for Julie’s hospitality. I wool 100% stay here again. Thank you for everything Julie. It’s so great to meet you :)
GGuest UserStaff is so kind to arrange connecting room for us. Also the hotel offers what we need, including cookie and drinks. It offers free airport shuttle and there is restaurant nearby. Duck in our bathroom is cute.
GGuest UserOverall the location of the hotel and the room being clean; however, there were some drawbacks from our experience.
One drawback was the hotel had a scheduled power outage which we never were given ample notice on. When we arrived we were asked if we got an email advising of the power outage and we advised that we received no such email. The day of the outage everything attached to the hotel was shut off except for one elevator for each tower, and all the restaurants within the facility. Had we known prior to arrival we could have may have decided to stay elsewhere for the one night. No compensation offered. The Casino remained open during the outage but restrooms had no water(very unsanitary)
The food court pizza was terrible and the breakfast sandwich did not have much flavour.
The buffet was average but had a nice view of the Frazer River.
SSilvino Booked this hotel for my long layover solely for its location. It’s a few walk away from Bridgeport metro station (although the walk may not be as glamorous since the way to get there has the potential to be confusing; anyway I figured it out easily). That meant I’m close to the airport as well as the metro if I wanted to go downtown.
The room was clean, and the bathroom was spotless. The check in and check out process was a breeze. The y have decent breakfast that starts at 6 (you can even take your coffee to go if needed). The staff were wonderful and helpful. As soon as I checked in and told the front desk I’m headed back to the airport the next morning, he told me that the hotel offers a shuttle that can send you to the airport!! That meant I didn’t have to walk back to the metro. (With that in mind, I bet they also have a pickup shuttle service—so contact the hotel so you can skip the metro altogether.) Such convenience.
AAnonymous UserThe building itself is old but the room is tidy, but has no toiletry supply at all so remember to BYO (not even slippers). I was carrying 3 big luggage and a young kid, but no one helped me with the luggage when I checked in, in fact there is only 1 staff at the lobby/concierge which probably explains it. No one had a smile on their face, from front desk to breakfast lounge, the only one who has a more friendly attitude is the chef in the breakfast lounge, but to be fair, no one was rude, just that you can’t say they welcome you to the hotel. So, no, I won’t recommend this place nor I will stay here again. You can probably get better service/facilities with Airbnb.
LLina QTWe were celebrating a couple of birthdays among friends and were so happy that the hotel had shuttle service from the airport. My friends’ flights were cancelled a couple of times the night before so we were not able to meet in Seattle as planned, so we met at the hotel. Fiona, on staff at Sheraton, kindly received us and assisted us with getting lounge access and breakfast for all so we can relax after being up all night due to flight cancellations. Unfortunately, the following night the hotel suffered a power outage from evening through the next morning causing temperature in the room to vary and hot showers not possible. It could have been seen as a really bad start to the trip but fortunately Fiona came through getting a portion of the night refunded, some hotel points, Starbucks drinks and pastries and late checkout. Fiona was very understanding and accommodating allowing us to continue our trip enjoying it together.
JJessicaasDon't hesitate to complain if you have concern about the room you booked that is different than what you received. I booked 2 bedroom 2 bathroom, I received only 1 bathroom, and 1 main bathroom was purposely locked. I complained, got free bfast for the next day and room changed. Although it kinda ruin my plan because of moving much, but ok lah. I will book again if come to richmond.
KKekeaiaidejiushiqiongrenThe room was clean and tidy. It's very close to Chinatown, with many restaurant options. They offer a free, frequent shuttle service to Vancouver Airport, which is super convenient. The only downsides were the very limited breakfast selection (you even have to make your own waffles!) and the single elevator, which meant long waits.
AAndrew WorkGreat overnight hit. The front desk staff was great. He got me all set up and when I had to leave super early in the morning, had a little breakfast bag for me ( I was leaving before the proper breakfast included was open). Helped me get a taxi, so all good.
GGuest UserThe location in proximity to the airport is terrific, however they do not have a shuttle as advertised. It was an $18 Uber ride to the airport from the hotel.
The bed had 2 very thin pillows on the king sized bed and they did not have any extras available at all when we asked for more. The bathroom had mold growing in the shower, the fridge made a loud buzzing noise the entire night, the lights in the room flickered badly (so we kept them turned off) and the cable television is extremely ”snowy” it is nowhere near the minimal HD expectations of today's generation.
On the positive side, they do offer a bagged breakfast (an apple, juice box, a small muffin, Nutrigrain bar and water bottle) that you can request at the front desk in the morning it was a nice touch. The room was large and had a small coffee maker and mini fridge in it.
Don't do what I did though and leave the water bottle in your carry on through the security scan it gets a personal secondary manual search and then tossed.
