"To the gentlemen reading this, you don't have much choice, but to any ladies out there—I strongly, strongly recommend booking a female-only room. I cannot stress this enough: please choose a female-only room.
Overall, the hostel itself is fantastic. The facilities are decent, the location is unbeatable, and you really can't beat the price. The staff members were super friendly, and the place felt clean. Although this was my first hostel in Germany, I’ve stayed at many hostels around the world, and value-for-money wise, this place is top-notch.
The only issue comes down to some of the other guests. When I checked into my first room, I was hit with a terrible odor as soon as I opened the door, and someone was snoring loudly. I asked to switch rooms right away, and the staff were kind enough to accommodate me. Unfortunately, even in the second room, there was another guest with severe body odor who snored heavily all day long. Because of this, I couldn't relax or get a good night's sleep.
I really don't want it to sound offensive to someone..but my overall experience dropped significantly just because of this single reason.
Maybe I was just unlucky, but those guests seemed to be long-term residents.
So again, ladies, even if it costs a bit more, please do yourself a favor and book a female-only room."
