Shiquan Street/Pan Gate Scenic Area Suzhou|3.16km from city centre
An absolutely wonderful experience! The entire hotel was designed by Singapore's Temasek Group and is seamlessly integrated with the Panmen Scenic Area. The hotel itself is built around a traditional Chinese garden layout, cleverly concealing eight distinct attractions. Its back entrance leads directly into the Panmen Scenic Area, and with your hotel key card, you get unlimited access throughout the day, along with services like Hanfu rental. The hotel itself is impeccable, with top-notch amenities, including the pool and gym. The customer service staff are also very professional. I noticed many foreigners, especially Singaporeans, staying here. The only minor drawback is that the rooms are spread across multiple buildings, making the hotel quite large. On my first visit, it took me a while to navigate from the front desk to my room. Also, the front desk is on the 3rd floor, while the rooms are on the 1st and 2nd floors, which can be a bit confusing when coming and going.FromCAD 72

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A perfect stay! Service is truly the soul of Shangri-La Suzhou.
This time I stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel, Suzhou, located at 168 Tayuan Road, and the overall experience was impeccable – a perfect score of 5 for all aspects. The foundation of a long-standing five-star hotel is still evident: guest rooms are located above the 28th floor, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Lion Hill and the city skyline. The bedding was just the right firmness, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a restful sleep until morning. The breakfast buffet offered authentic Suzhou-style braised pork noodles, xiao long bao, and tangyuan, alongside freshly made Western pastries – all of high quality. The pool, gym, and Horizon Club Lounge were all well-equipped. The location is also fantastic, right next to the Shishan Road business district and the subway, making it very convenient for dining and shopping.
However, what truly made me want to write this glowing review were the people.
Front desk staff Ella Cui – I arrived during the afternoon check-in rush, and Ella maintained a cheerful smile throughout. She processed my information, swiped pre-authorization, and explained the room type seamlessly, without any robotic procedural feel. She proactively offered explanations about the views from two high-floor city-view rooms and reminded me of the breakfast times. A front desk staff member who 'remembers your name and anticipates your needs' is a rarity even in five-star hotels.
Guest Relations Lisa – All my minor requests after arrival were followed up and resolved by her. Her responses were swift, and she was never intrusive.
The hardware provides the elegance, but Ella and Lisa provided the warmth. Next time I'm in Suzhou New District, this will be my default choice, and I'll definitely recommend it to friends.FromCAD 102

Guanqian Street/Pingjiang Street Suzhou|4km from city centre
This hotel is perfectly located on a main road in Suzhou, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. If you're driving, there's free underground parking, though you'll need to get a voucher from the front desk each time you leave. Pingjiang Road is right behind the hotel, just a few minutes' walk through the alleyways. Wyndham is a well-established five-star brand, and while the decor might be a bit dated, the hotel still maintains an impressive scale and elegance. You can tell the staff put a lot of effort into its upkeep. The rooms are quite spacious and clean, and the front desk staff are friendly. I was very satisfied with my stay. Stayed for two nights with my daughter for a concert. The hotel was excellent, right near Suzhou Center. The service was fantastic – they even noticed our gym clothes hanging to dry and brought over a drying rack, then helped us hang them up! The breakfast spread was very rich, and the afternoon tea and happy hour offerings at the executive lounge were exquisite. The gym and pool on the 27th floor offer great views. All in all, it's great value for money, and I'll definitely stay here again if I get the chance.FromCAD 107

Came to Suzhou for a concert during the May Day holiday and brought the kids and my parents along for a trip. The hotel is just a few steps from the subway station. You need to transfer to get to the Olympic Sports Center, but it's very convenient, only about three stops in total. The three-bedroom suite we booked this time was perfect for a large family like ours. It also has three bathrooms and a large double-door refrigerator. However, someone had put durian in the fridge before, and it smelled awful, making it unusable for us. I hope the hotel can do a better job with cleaning and deodorizing! There's an oven, microwave, and induction hob, but no pots or pans were provided. Does that mean they expect guests to cook or not? We didn't need to cook, but it just felt a bit confusing. There are restaurants and convenience stores right across from the hotel.FromCAD 125

The hotel environment is great, very close to Tongli Ancient Town, and the night view is beautiful. The front desk staff are exceptionally friendly, enthusiastic, and all very pretty. The hotel restaurant offers good dishes that suit my taste, and they've introduced many new ones. Especially noteworthy is the hotel's wellness building, which provides numerous therapeutic programs tailored to individual health conditions. After a session, I felt incredibly refreshed, and the moxibustion for dampness removal was particularly effective. It truly embodies the characteristics of a wellness-focused hotel.FromCAD 75

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Choosing this hotel in Suzhou was the right decision! My stay at the Hampton by Hilton Suzhou was much better than expected. The location is a huge plus – just a few minutes' walk from the subway, making it easy to get to Guanqian Street, Pingjiang Road, Jinji Lake, or nearby shopping areas. Taxis are also readily available. The front desk is staffed 24/7, check-in and check-out were smooth, and the staff were friendly and helpful with any questions. The rooms are simply designed and practical, with plenty of space. The bed, a signature Hampton Bed by Serta, is just the right firmness, and the soundproofing is good – I slept soundly all night for both stays. The bathroom has a separate shower and toilet, and they provide PTR toiletries with consistent water quality and temperature. The breakfast offers both Chinese and Western options, with quick service, so you can still grab a good meal even if you're in a hurry. They also offer free parking, a gym, and laundry facilities, making it suitable for business trips or families exploring Suzhou. For the price, both the facilities and service are excellent. I'll definitely rebook here next time I'm in Suzhou and recommend it to anyone who wants to avoid a bad hotel experience.FromCAD 73

I've stayed at InterContinental Jinji Lake many times, and this time I chose it again. If I had to give a reason, it's simply because I feel comfortable and familiar with it.
It was peak summer holiday season and a Saturday, so the hotel was very busy. Our room wasn't ready even by 3:30 PM. After a phone call, the front desk agent promptly upgraded our room, and I'm very grateful for that!
Although the hotel is a bit older, both the public areas and the rooms are very well-maintained and don't show their age at all. We stayed in a suite, which was very spacious and incredibly comfortable. The floor-to-ceiling windows in both the living room and bedroom offered direct, first-rate views of Jinji Lake and the Ferris wheel.
The dining experience at Jinhaixuan Restaurant on the 27th floor was excellent, with fantastic outdoor views and delicious dishes.
The breakfast buffet quality was still great. My only minor regret this time was that, apart from the host, no one asked if I wanted tea or coffee. Perhaps they were too busy with all the guests and overlooked it?
Overall, for me, the minor flaws don't detract from the overall excellent experience. I'll definitely choose to stay at InterContinental again next time I'm in Jinji Lake.FromCAD 134

The Lamborghini Hotel Suzhou Jinji Lake boasts an excellent location. It's incredibly convenient to step out and find dining and shopping options at the Gate to the East. The two restaurants within the hotel are also fantastic, and the service is top-notch. A special shout-out to Liu Qian, the lovely manager at the front desk. She's incredibly gentle and kind, and handles things with meticulous care and responsibility. We even saw her diligently working during afternoon tea, which is truly commendable! Also, Zhao Jianping, the housekeeping staff who cleaned our room, was exceptionally warm and welcoming, making us feel very happy. Shi Road/Shantang business district Suzhou|2.9km from city centre
This time, I brought my parents, my 3-year-old and my husband to Suzhou, and we booked a superior king + twin room at Licheng Bieyuan. The entire experience was divine, and I have to give it a full five stars!
🏡 Environment: Living in a hundred-year-old cultural building, stylish and quiet amidst the hustle and bustle.
The hotel is right next to Changmen/Shantang Street, hidden in old Republican-era buildings, with its own Suzhou-style garden courtyard. Every step offers a new view, full of ancient charm yet clean and elegant. It's quiet despite being central, super convenient for exploring the ancient streets. Staying here feels like entering a secret Jiangnan paradise, and it’s incredibly photogenic. Just a short walk away are famous noodle shops and all sorts of delicious food, plus a super picturesque city wall.
🛏️ Room: Super clean bedding, family-friendly upgrade was a delightful surprise!
The bedding and amenities were spotless, and both the mattress and pillows were comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep for the elderly and the child. When the front desk learned we had a child, they upgraded our king room to a family room with a slide and a tent for free. My son went crazy playing as soon as he entered, and even asked to sleep in the tent at night – it was his first time sleeping in a small tent by himself, which moved this mother deeply!
🤖 Facilities: Robot room service was a hit with the child.
The hotel has cute room service robots, and my son chased them around the whole time. He was so excited every time we picked up food, which totally maximized the joy of traveling with a child.
👩💼 Service: Meticulous to the core, responsive and incredibly warm.
From check-in to check-out, every staff member was warm and patient. Any issue we had was responded to immediately and resolved promptly. As my parents have mobility issues, the staff proactively helped with luggage and gave directions, providing thoughtful care throughout – it was truly heartwarming!
💎 Most touching: Sapphire ring found and returned!
After checking out, we realized my mother's sapphire ring was left in the room. The hotel contacted us immediately, and after finding it, they promptly sent it back via SF Express. The entire process was efficient and responsible. This level of conscientiousness and attentiveness truly exceeded expectations and gave us such peace of mind!
✅ Summary: The whole family gave it rave reviews, our top choice for our next trip to Suzhou!
The environment is tasteful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the family-friendly details are outstanding, and the service is meticulous and warm, plus the miraculous recovery of lost property. For trips with elderly parents and children, choosing this place is absolutely a safe bet. It's already on our must-stay list for Suzhou, and we will definitely come again!FromCAD 65

This was my first stay at the Renaissance Suzhou Hotel, and its location in the heart of Suzhou Industrial Park is truly excellent. It's very close to Suzhou Center and Jinji Lake for walks, making it super convenient for getting around and shopping. The hotel is an established Marriott property that's been open for years, and its overall interior design feels classic and grand. The public areas are well-maintained daily, and the guest rooms are spotlessly clean.
Objectively, there were a couple of minor issues with the room's hardware: the hairdryer outlet in the bathroom was a bit finicky, requiring several attempts to get a proper connection. Also, when it was quiet at night, the air conditioning vent made a noticeable noise that slightly disturbed my sleep. After I reported these issues, I contacted Harlan Zhu, who provided warm and sincere service!FromCAD 117

The hotel's biggest highlight is definitely the kayaking in the lotus pond – it's a must-try. The staff is very lean, but despite that, they really tried their best to meet guest needs. It's clear the understaffing isn't their fault. The same goes for the restaurant; there aren't enough chefs, which makes you hesitant to order much. However, there's nothing else to eat nearby, so you're stuck with the hotel food, which honestly isn't great.
If the weather is good, the outdoor lawn is huge, and the water sports are decent. It's a good spot for families with kids or dogs.
I really didn't like the room. Next time, I'd try a regular suite instead of a villa. The villa felt like a renovated unfinished building.

It's probably been twenty years since I last stayed at Nanlin, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Garden Wing is still incredibly well-maintained.
The garden landscaping from the Mountain & Water Wing to the Garden Wing has become even more beautiful. In the morning, they even had mist spraying, creating a truly ethereal atmosphere.
A big thank you to Miss Wang Qin at the front desk yesterday for the upgrade, allowing me to try the pulsating massage bed – it was very comfortable. And just a little secret: friends with constipation should really try their colonic hydrotherapy; you'll come back to thank me.
Breakfast was good. The spicy and sour soup (Hula Tang) was fragrant, and initially not spicy, but adding a tiny bit of vinegar made it incredibly savory. The noodles in the red soup noodles were excellent, and today's stir-fried bamboo shoots and pork in the topping were very fresh. The goose meat, however, was a bit mediocre in some parts, and a few pieces were hard to distinguish between goose and braised pork.
Nanlin's location speaks for itself; it's surrounded by attractions and delicious food. Back in the nineties when I first started working, the intersection where the Avon direct sales store used to be (Shiquan Street and Fenghuang Road) was already lively. Later, with the opening of Tongdexing and various small shops, it just got more and more bustling.
Finally, the reason I first stayed at Nanlin many years ago was after reading Lu Wenfu's 'The Gourmet.' Those who know, know. He was one of the people who changed my perceptions and lifestyle.FromCAD 58

The hotel was located at the lake with an amazing view. The rooms was really nice and super clean and the mattress was really comfortable to sleep very well. The facility of the hotel was nice and very stylish, all in white and modern. The hotel was really lovely. The only thing that is really not good organised, there is no food except breakfast and afternoon tea (in that case fruits). This hotel is perfectly situated right by Lake Taihu. We'd contacted them beforehand, so check-in was super smooth upon arrival. The front desk staff were polite and friendly. Our room on the 11th floor directly overlooked Lake Taihu, offering a truly beautiful view. The room itself was spacious, comfortable, bright, and spotless. The bathroom was particularly great for families, with a separate shower and tub – perfect for anyone who loves a good soak to de-stress.
The hotel's 2nd floor boasts excellent fitness facilities, including a swimming pool and gym. The pool was very clean, and the water temperature and hygiene were reliable. There's also a LEGO playroom on the 2nd floor where kids can play freely or build with LEGOs, accompanied by family. Sample LEGO models are displayed on the tables, allowing children to follow along and discover the fun of LEGO building.
Breakfast hours are very convenient, running from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM. This extended window is ideal for families with children or seniors, allowing everyone to sleep in and still enjoy a leisurely meal. The breakfast spread was extensive and varied, with both Western and Chinese options to suit all tastes.

An absolutely exceptional hotel experience, made truly unforgettable by the extraordinary level of service and dedication of the staff.
From the moment we arrived, we were treated with genuine warmth, professionalism, and attention to every detail. The entire team went far beyond what anyone could reasonably expect from a hotel staff.
A very special mention must go to Kong Chengjie, whose help was simply extraordinary. I had accidentally dropped my phone into a river and had almost given up any hope of finding it. Kong Chengjie meticulously reconstructed all of our movements and the places we had visited, carefully working out where the phone might have been lost. Thanks to his incredible determination, patience, and attention to detail, he actually managed to recover my phone from the river.
This was far more than excellent customer service — it was an extraordinary act of dedication and genuine care that I will never forget.

This hotel has been around for a long time. I visited about a decade and a half ago, and back then, it felt very serene and secluded. However, I've noticed significant changes this time. It's clear they've kept up with the times, putting a lot of effort into various aspects like the environment, attention to detail, value-added services, and marketing. Overall, I found it to be pretty good value for money.
While the facilities aren't as new as those in recently built hotels, the rooms are completely free of any strange or musty smells, and the location is excellent. The hot spring pools are conveniently clustered together, making it perfect for families with children and seniors. My only slight disappointment was that the 'fish spa' pool didn't actually have any fish. Even before I checked in, she proactively contacted me, carefully inquiring about my preferences and various needs. It's incredibly stylish and practical, unique and memorable – truly a gesture of genuine thoughtfulness.
The hotel's overall environment is chic and upscale, clean and tidy, with complete facilities, providing maximum comfort for living. Compared to many high-end hotels, the butler service this time truly left a deep impression. Eli was gentle and meticulous without being intrusive, making the experience absolutely top-notch! The next time I visit Suzhou, the W Suzhou will definitely be my first choice, and I highly recommend everyone to look for Butler Eli!FromCAD 184

The room was even better than I expected overall. It was quite spacious with excellent natural light and an amazing view through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The cleanliness was top-notch; the sheets and bedding felt really fresh and clean. I especially loved the bathroom – it was large and featured a smart toilet, a big bathtub, and a separate shower, so the amenities were really impressive. They even had bathrobes in the closet, which shows great attention to detail. I had a very comfortable stay and highly recommend it!FromCAD 48

I had an unexpected business trip to Suzhou and chose Park Hyatt over the Four Seasons. I rarely stay at Hyatt properties, but whether it's the Grand Hyatt Guiyang, Grand Hyatt Hefei, Park Hyatt Shanghai, or now the Park Hyatt Suzhou, their aesthetic consistently surpasses hotels of the same price point, and even higher. To sum it up, this should be the benchmark for Chinese luxury hotels.
I overslept the day before check-in and missed the hotel's courtesy call. Upon arrival, the doorman quickly and efficiently handled my luggage. Stepping into the lobby, the public area's exquisite blend of 'old money' sophistication and new Chinese style immediately captivated me. Despite having stayed in countless hotels, it's rare to see such a perfect fusion of Chinese and Western elements in a luxury hotel. During check-in, the front desk attendant was incredibly handsome, speaking in a gentle yet approachable manner. Hotel staff often serve as a 'calling card' for the establishment, and he certainly enhanced my impression of the hotel. Concierge Tracy also approached me, adding me on WeChat to better facilitate my stay. After checking in, as I walked from the lobby through the public areas to my room, the huge floor-to-ceiling windows framed the outdoor scenery, perfectly embodying the essence of 'misty rain江南' (Jiangnan). It felt as if time itself had slowed down at that moment. Entering the room, I must commend the room's layout design. First, there's an entryway, with the toilet on one side and the shower and bathtub on the other (I was particularly pleased that both the shower and the bathtub had their own vanity mirrors, catering well to different guest needs). Walking past the entryway and opening that small door, it was immediately like 'parting the clouds to see the sun'—a feeling of 'after walking a few dozen steps, a wide vista suddenly opens up.' This earned the hotel designer an extremely high score in my book. The room's audio system was Bose, with excellent sound quality. The last time I encountered Bose speakers was at the Ritz-Carlton Haikou. Compared to most luxury hotels that either don't provide or provide generic, old-fashioned audio systems, Park Hyatt Suzhou is clearly willing to invest more thought into guest experience and hotel hardware. Concierge Tracy's service was excellent. As soon as I entered the room, she messaged me on WeChat to ask if I was satisfied with the room type and if I needed any additional amenities. She was also very quick to assist whenever I needed bath salts, turn-down service, or had food delivered. I was very pleased that, as I like to sleep in, I often request late check-outs. Unlike other hotels that call every few minutes to rush you (which I find very irritating—firstly, no one likes to be disturbed while resting, and secondly, it makes me wonder if the hotel is overbooked or why they're so eager to rush guests), Park Hyatt Suzhou had Tracy message me to inquire and arrange my late check-out. I truly appreciate this non-intrusive approach to guests. After checking out, Tracy also sincerely messaged me to ask how my stay was and if there was anything that could be improved. Both Tracy and the other hotel staff perfectly demonstrated what it means to be efficient and thoughtful. 🥰
Of course, there were a couple of minor issues during my stay (though 'issues' might be too strong a word, more like things I found a bit odd). First, the deposit. Almost all hotels I've stayed at typically require a deposit of 1k or 1.5k, but Park Hyatt Suzhou charged 2k (not that I can't afford it, but it's a bit strange why the deposit differs from most hotels 🧐). Second, the public areas are genuinely quite large—so large that I sometimes got lost, unsure whether to turn left or right 🥲 (though this is subjective, as it is indeed very opulent and well-designed, and I really like the hotel's style, but my sense of direction is truly terrible, and I felt a bit disoriented finding my way around after a few ins and outs). However, these are minor points (not even flaws really); apart from these slightly perplexing matters, I couldn't find any other fault. 🤣
Overall, Park Hyatt Suzhou in every aspect should and deserves to be the benchmark for Chinese luxury hotels, and even luxury hotels across mainland China. Whether it's the perfect integration of hotel design and landscape, the friendly and efficient demeanor of the staff, the comfortable and cozy bedding, or even the high standards the hotel owner demands and the brand spirit Park Hyatt aims to convey, it's perfection personified. There's virtually nothing to fault. It's sparked my interest in Hyatt properties and made me fall in love with this new Chinese luxury hotel style. I look forward to staying here again on my next visit to Suzhou and am even more excited to see what new surprises Park Hyatt Suzhou will bring me next time!FromCAD 346

Initially, my friend told me that Xiangxuehai is where old Suzhou locals queue up to eat, a must-visit when in Gusu city. At the time, I just thought it was an ordinary restaurant. Later, when booking a hotel, I found out that Xiangxuehai is actually a hotel that also provides accommodation, and it's very close to Suzhou Station and many attractions. I booked it without hesitation.
The two days I stayed there afterward were a fantastic experience! If I have another chance to visit Suzhou, I will definitely stay at Xiangxuehai again.
**[Facilities]** Although the hotel has been around for a while, it seems to have been renovated or refurbished a few years ago. The room facilities are excellent and very thoughtfully designed. For example, upon entering the room, there's a spacious wardrobe to hang clothes. The wardrobe door is a full-length mirror, which is very convenient for checking your outfit. There's also a mirror by the bed that's perfect for makeup. These mirror designs are very detailed and impressive. The bookshelf and chair are also well-placed for putting things down, and even suitable for some comfortable light work – not like those places where there's nowhere to put anything except on the floor. The overall style is a bit retro 'old money'. The corridors outside the rooms are carpeted, making them very quiet. Near the elevators for going out, they even provide mosquito repellent to prevent bites.
**[Hygiene]** The hygiene was spot on. Both days I went out, I came back to a clean and tidy room, and their response was very prompt. It felt like as soon as we mentioned going out and needing cleaning, they arranged it. Once, I had to go back to the hotel for lunch, and the cleaning was already finished, and everything was spotless.
**[Environment]** The overall environment is excellent. The laundry room and laundry balcony are very large, making laundry very convenient. Plus, the location is very central, close to everything. The hotel also offers delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner. When we were almost stranded due to a typhoon, we were so glad we chose Xiangxuehai, a hotel with dining options. What's even better is that the dining and accommodation areas are separate; only residents with cards can access the accommodation building, so the residential area is quite quiet.
**[Service]** I was deeply moved by my stay at Xiangxuehai. This particular weekend was very special because many high-speed trains were canceled due to the typhoon, and we were almost stranded in Suzhou. The front desk staff were incredibly understanding, handling both extending our stay and the cancellation process with great patience despite multiple changes. They were very helpful.
Furthermore, the front desk staff are very professional. We asked for earplugs due to sleep issues, and they proactively asked if something was wrong or if we weren't sleeping well, showing great care.
It was truly touching. Despite the harsh weather, the human kindness shone through. I hope to stay at Xiangxuehai again next time I visit Suzhou.FromCAD 44

The environment is great, and the facilities are comprehensive. It seems to be an apartment hotel with a history and a good reputation. It's a one-bedroom, one-living room unit with a bathtub. You have to stand in the tub to shower, which I'm not used to – it's a bit narrow and inconvenient. I'm more accustomed to a dedicated shower box. The bedroom and living room are separated by sliding doors. There's no space for nightstands on either side of the large bed, which I also found inconvenient (although you can put things on the headboard). My feet kept hitting the sliding door when getting out of bed, which was annoying.
What I did like was the high floor, the view, and the microwave and tableware provided.FromCAD 66

On this trip to Suzhou, I chose the Hyatt by Jinji Lake, and overall it was very comfortable. But what I want to praise the most is Julie from Guest Relations. The night before check-in, she added me on WeChat to confirm my needs, reminded me of directions, and told me I could drop off my luggage early. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable enough, and the location couldn't be beat – close to Eslite Spectrum and Moonlight Wharf. Julie's discreet approach of 'there when you need her, but not intrusive when you don't' is what made this hotel stay so pleasant. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Suzhou.FromCAD 135

The facilities show their age, but they're well-maintained and quite clean. The surroundings boast a lake view with a large lawn and a lakeside boardwalk below, which would be lovely in spring and autumn. However, it's hard to spend extended time outdoors during summer. The gym isn't great; the equipment is old and the lighting isn't very good, placing it in the lower-mid range compared to current top-tier hotels. The pool is decent, though.FromCAD 168

My recent trip to Suzhou led me to stay at the Suzhou Marriott, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. The hotel is located in the heart of Gusu District's old city, making it incredibly convenient to get to Hanshan Temple and Shantang Street by taxi. I was pleasantly surprised to find that booking a room even came with complimentary tickets to Hanshan Temple!
The lobby incorporates traditional Jiangnan design, and the charming Suzhou-style garden on the first floor is perfect for photos. The guest rooms are spacious and clean, with floor-to-ceiling windows on higher floors offering panoramic views of the ancient city. The bedding was soft, and the soundproofing was excellent.
Lion, a staff member at the breakfast restaurant, was very enthusiastic, and the breakfast selection was incredibly rich, featuring authentic Suzhou red soup noodles and osmanthus pastries. Georgia and Allen at the front desk were gentle and considerate, while Katrina at the service center was quick to respond to requests. The heated pool and gym facilities were also well-equipped.
With its five-star quality and excellent location, this hotel is perfect for both travelers and those looking for a short getaway. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Suzhou.FromCAD 106

Our stay was great! The breakfast was delicious, and the view from our window was beautiful. The location is excellent with many shopping malls nearby, which is especially convenient for families who want to go out for a stroll in the evening. The hotel service was also fantastic – warm and attentive. Our personal concierge, Yvonne, was incredibly responsive throughout our stay. Plus, with the Eslite Bookstore Exhibition Center and the Olympic Sports Center right next to the hotel, it's super convenient for catching concerts. Highly recommend! During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, I brought my family to stay at Hotel Nikko Suzhou. The hotel is conveniently located in the Huqiu district, right next to Shizishan Metro Station, making transportation easy. There are plenty of dining options nearby. Although the hotel shows its age a bit with slightly dated decor and facilities, it's well-maintained, upholding the standards of a seasoned star-rated hotel.
We stayed in an Executive King Room. While the room wasn't large, the view from the 27th floor was excellent, especially the mesmerizing night view. The room has a distinct Japanese style, with efficient use of space throughout, making it convenient and clean.
The complimentary afternoon tea and executive lounge benefits were nothing spectacular, but given the reasonable price of the room, we couldn't ask for more.
As it's a Nikko hotel, the breakfast is a blend of Chinese and Japanese cuisine. The Chinese-style Suzhou noodles and Japanese curry and rich soups were particularly noteworthy.
Finally, regarding the service, the hotel staff were attentive and thoughtful. Jiajia at the front desk was especially enthusiastic and professional during both check-in and check-out. Five-star rating for her!FromCAD 96

Great location! It's right across the street from Suzhou Station, so you just walk out and cross the road. Super convenient if you're catching a high-speed train or bus the next day (the bus station is also right across). Getting to the Humble Administrator's Garden and Pingjiang Road is easy and cheap by taxi, costing only around 17-18 yuan. The room was spacious, bright, and clean, and the bedding was fresh with no strange odors, making for a very comfortable night's sleep. The breakfast was quite varied and tasty, and the staff were all very friendly. My child accidentally broke a spoon, and the first thing the staff member did was tell us to be careful not to pick it up with our hands – it's those little details that show how much they care! I am definitely a frequent traveler/stayer/eater, and I have experienced many high-end hotels/boutique B&Bs/boutique restaurants. But this time I want to say: This boutique B&B (inn) is worth my recommendation.
1. The owner of the inn is a famous Suzhou garden designer, so the taste and foundation of the inn are very good.
2. The male and female managers have a good hobby and cultivation of tea art/meditation and meditation, which adds a lot of added value and fun to the inn.
3. In addition to the good breakfast included in the inn, the inn owner will also invite customers to join their private lunch and dinner, which is very authentic Hunan cuisine, which is simply a unique and exquisite dish in Tongli.
4. Warm and warm service and feeling.
. . .
Of course, other routine services are also very good, so I won’t say more.
In short, recommended!FromCAD 174

The weather is getting colder, so it's time to soak in the hot springs! The hotel faces Taihu Lake, the air is fresh, and the view is amazing. The hotel service is also excellent; staff contacted us in advance to ask about our check-in time and number of guests. Because we were traveling with a child, they thoughtfully upgraded us to a family suite. The room was large and spacious, and had two bathrooms, which was very convenient for families. A special thank you to Xiao Liu at the front desk for her attentive and patient service over the past two days, and also to the housekeeping staff for keeping the place spotless. Suzhou Metro Map FAQs
-
Does the Suzhou Metro connect to Shanghai?
Yes — Suzhou Metro Line 11 connects directly to the Shanghai Metro at Huaqiao station, which is an interchange with Shanghai Metro Line 11. Through-service between Suzhou Metro Line 3 and Line 11 means passengers can travel all the way from Suzhou Xinqu Railway Station to Huaqiao (and onwards into Shanghai) without changing trains. The journey from central Suzhou to Huaqiao takes roughly 45–60 minutes. -
Where can I download the Suzhou Metro Map in English as a PDF?
An English-language Suzhou Metro Map in PDF format can be downloaded from the official Suzhou Metro website or found on travel platforms such as Trip.com. The map clearly labels all stations in English (with Chinese pinyin), colour-codes each line, and marks transfer stations and key landmarks. It is highly recommended to save the map offline before travelling, as public Wi-Fi in metro stations can be inconsistent. -
Is there a metro line to Suzhou Railway Station and Suzhou North Railway Station?
Yes. Suzhou Railway Station (苏州站) is served by both Line 2 and Line 4, making it easily accessible from most parts of the city. Suzhou North Railway Station (苏州北站), which handles the majority of high-speed rail services, is served by Line 2. Travellers arriving by high-speed train from Shanghai (approx. 30 min), Hangzhou, Nanjing, or Beijing should check whether their train stops at Suzhou or Suzhou North, as they are on different metro stops. -
What is the cheapest way to ride the Suzhou Metro?
The most cost-effective way to ride the Suzhou Metro depends on how often you plan to travel. For occasional journeys, purchasing a single-journey ticket (starting at ¥2, roughly CAD $0.40) is perfectly fine. If you plan to take 4 or more trips in a day, the 1-day pass (¥18) offers better value. For multi-day visitors, the 3-day pass (¥40) is the best deal. Using a QR code via WeChat or Alipay also charges distance-based fares with no surcharge. -
What app should I use to navigate the Suzhou Metro?
The official Suzhou Metro app is called 苏e行 (Sū E Xíng). It supports QR code payments and real-time journey planning in Chinese. For English-language navigation, many travellers use Baidu Maps or Amap (Gaode Maps), which both support English and offer metro routing. WeChat's City Services function and Alipay also support QR code metro payments for registered users. For trip planning before you travel, Trip.com's transport guides can help you pre-plan your metro routes in Suzhou. -
What time does the Suzhou Metro open and close?
Most Suzhou Metro lines operate from approximately 05:40–06:00 (first train) to 22:20–23:00 (last train). Operating hours vary slightly by line and by day — on weekends and public holidays, services are typically extended by 20–40 minutes. Line 2 may also run later on nights when high-speed trains arrive late at Suzhou North Railway Station, and Line 11 adjusts its schedule to align with Shanghai Metro connections. Always check the official Suzhou Metro website for the most up-to-date timetable.
