Guest UserWhile the homestay may not be situated directly along the street, the owner provides a highly detailed guide to lead you from the Main Street to the homestay. The owner is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room is exceptionally clean, equipped with one time use towels and cups. I received a complimentary upgrade to a queen room with a breathtaking mountain view. The owner patiently offered valuable suggestions for exploring Qixingyan and recommended local dining options when I inquired. The homestay provides laundry facilities, including a washing machine, and a drying area on the balcony. The balcony itself offers a pleasant view and ambience. I highly recommend this homestay, and the area is notably safe.

Baron YeungZen Garden is located in Dinghu District, Zhaoqing, about a 35-minute drive from Seven Star Crags. Gaode Maps navigation will accurately guide you to the destination. There is indoor parking available next to the Zen Garden.
The entire Zen Garden is converted from an old school building, covering a large area, and the grounds are neat and clean.
I booked a four-person room, which had four large mattresses and a unique feel, making me feel like I was in a mountain hut in Tibet. These were the two most restful and comfortable nights I've slept in recently.
The room was fully equipped, and the toiletries were of very high quality.
The vegetarian restaurant inside the Zen Garden has a beautiful ambiance, and the vegetarian breakfast was very plentiful. The porridge and fried noodles were delicious, and the whole-grain sweet potatoes and corn left me feeling very energized! The soup noodles on the dinner menu were also very tasty, with a delicious broth!
It's worth mentioning that Zen Garden has two friendly dogs and several cats, all benevolent ambassadors, and the children loved interacting with them.
The staff's warm smiles, gentle demeanor, and timely assistance made the experience truly delightful.
If you enjoy meditation, tranquility, vegetarian food, or a rejuvenating family retreat, this is a Zen retreat well worth experiencing.

The location of the B&B is good, on the edge of Qixing Lake, and there are scenic spots outside. The decoration is also quite unique, and they are responsible for picking up at the station. The proprietress is quite enthusiastic and gave me souvenirs when I left. The only thing I am not satisfied with is that the room I stayed in is too small, and the facilities are not complete. Everything is placed on the floor or windowsill. It is much more comfortable to stay in a hotel at the same price. I decisively canceled the next day's stay and moved to the hotel.

Recently, during summer vacation, I wanted to go to Zhaoqing with friends for a couple of days to visit Seven Star Crags and Dinghu Mountain. I found this guesthouse on Ctrip; it's very close to the scenic spots, and the photos uploaded by other guests looked pretty good. The price was also reasonable, so I decided to book one day to check it out.
We arrived quite late, but the owner warmly welcomed us! She had already prepared our room keys, so we could just pack our bags and check in quickly.
The room was very clean, without the dampness I had imagined typical of southern China. The toiletries were all provided, and the Wi-Fi password was easy to find (written on the table card, along with the owner's contact information). The house faces the street, and opening the balcony door reveals the illuminated scenic area across the street, creating a lovely atmosphere. It was very comfortable to enjoy the breeze on the balcony!
The guesthouse's restaurant offers a buffet breakfast with options like steamed buns, sweet potatoes, corn, coffee, and milk, saving us time searching for breakfast in the morning. After returning from our day's activities, we decided to try the restaurant's main meal. The three of us ordered five dishes, which were generous in portion size and offered a wide variety of cuisines. The food was delicious, and the presentation was beautiful! (See the pictures for reference.) There's also a bar area near the entrance where you can make drinks (milk tea and juice). Overall, I'd give the restaurant full marks; it was very much to our liking!
Since my friends and I thought it was a good place, we decided to extend our stay.
During our stay, the owner would ask us where we wanted to go every day and give us the best itinerary. She was really nice! The room was cleaned daily and kept very spotless. The bathroom amenities were also promptly replenished; we didn't even need to ask, as everything was basically tidied up after our outings.

Very elegante, cozy boutique hotel. Waterfront by the lake. Very relaxing.
The decor and ambient is really nice.
Room very spacious, very well decorated. We stayed in the lake view room with bathtub, great balcon facing the lake and street with falling blossom flowers.
Free daily fruits in bedroom.
Staff very welcoming and helpful.
We had breakfast from the hotel, limited to Chinese food, noodles, vegetables, eggs. Enough but lack of other options.
Nice rooftop terrace to relax or enjoy breakfast.
Hotel is in a quit street, next to some bistro restaurants and convenience store. Walking distance from downtown with malls and a lot of restaurants, about 15 minutes. Good to ride bicicles, take long walks.
Extra tip, we found a wine celler nearby, great atmosphere for a glass of wine, called 'moon lounge'. 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
We were not expecting new year's eve celebration but had the surprise of a lot to explore outside along the lake, with street food, vendors, games and performance. Also fireworks that we could watch from the hotel balcony. Really nice reflections on the lake.
To come back again.

Environment: The homestay is not far from the entrance of Qixing Rock View and the archway. The room and terrace are very spacious and facing the lake view, which is good. But it feels a bit annoying when the neighbor is renovating.
There are many restaurants in the village, but after two meals, it was disappointing and I dare not try again! ! Would rather walk for more than ten minutes to eat on Xinghu Avenue. In addition, a small stall (outdoor environment) outside the archway can be tried. There are breakfast, noodle rice, wontons, oysters, oysters and other food supplies. It tastes good and the boss is very good.
Service: Helpful to assist guests, such as two extra pillows and replacement of bad dumplings.
Hygiene: General and acceptable.
Facilities: basic toiletries, enough air-conditioning, and a faucet! ! There is no elevator in the homestay, 㩗 Please pay attention to large luggage! !
Zhaoqing's summer is very hot, I believe autumn and winter will be more comfortable! !

Anonymous UserThe hotel is clean and hygienic, the decoration is relatively new, the location is OK, the hotel provides free breakfast, the food variety and quality are OK! One bad thing is that we booked 2 rooms, but only one room was ready when we checked in, and the other one was not. It was said that it would be ready in an hour, but since we were going out, we didn't come back to pick up the room until night, and only one room was left. We were dissatisfied with the same room type and wanted to change rooms. When booking, we wrote that Kehen would upgrade the room for free, but it didn’t happen. We had to pay for the upgrade!

Booked double bedrooms with bathrooms on 8/f.
Pros: The place is clean. Bed is on the firmer side which i like. Windows have screens to keep mosquitos away. Drains have no smell. Hot water is hot enough n good pressure.
They provide disposable towels, so you need to bring your own if you r not keen on using disposable.
Location is fantastic.
Client services are great, provided suggestion on a year card for seven-star cave. Hair dryer n room cleaning at request
Door can be licked from inside=safety👍😍
Cons: like most accommodations in china, you can hear people speaking in hallway. Lucky no noisy neighbors at night. Some constructions carry out in a flat nearby, so noise starts at around 830am. The lift lobbies and hallway still have protective plastics so the building is not fully occupied....

There was a bit of messing around with the rooms when we arrived, but in the end we stayed in the room we originally booked. The room was like a full apartment with its own conservatory area, which we thought lovely. The highlight though was the location and view just outside though, the ginormous city park right across the street. It was all beautiful, we had a lovely coffee next to the water in the sun in the morning and the owner then took us in by car to discover the city center. At the end the owner again drove us with our suitcases to the train station. We absolutely loved our stay here.
Only downside I would say were the single use towels, which first of all were not very effective, secondly a horrible waste for the environment.
(On an additional small note regarding rooms, if you fear that guests would not like the cheapest room and insist they upgrade, you’re making the impression of having misled the guest during booking. We personally would have loved it, but we’re quite surprised to have it downplayed for us on arrival that it is too small and too loud. It was not too loud and size was good, perhaps a small cleaning to the windows and an upgrade in interior design could do the place good).

Although Zhaoqing is a lovely place the transport to reach there from Kaiping was practically nonexistent. We almost scraped the idea of visiting until we found that we could transit and change to a bus from Jiangmen. Unfortunately we also hit another hitch at the Zhaoqing bus station because there was no public transport to the 7 Star Crags area where the hotel is located. However the pretty lady owner came to the rescue and picked us up. How cool is that? The lady boss is second to none. She was extremely helpful - suggesting places for food and attractions & even the order of doing them. Definitely the best part of staying here is her.
But her Homestay is great too. It’s very well located in front of the beautiful famous lake so we’re able to capture sunset and sunrise scenes easily.
In retrospect we should have stayed at least another night. Maybe we will meet again?
