This is a stunning guesthouse, nestled amidst the breathtaking scenery of Qiandao Lake. And it truly is a picturesque lakeside retreat! I discovered that due to an extended bay, when the wind blows, two sections of water merge, creating two shimmering reflections on the surface, a serene and beautiful scene. The courtyard is spacious and well-designed; the owners clearly put a lot of thought into it, perhaps not just to attract tourists, but also to please themselves, as everything is incredibly comfortable. I spent two nights relaxing on a poolside lounge chair, gazing at the stars, enjoying the cool evening breeze – pure bliss. Dinner tasted like home cooking, with carefully selected ingredients and methods. The nearby rafting is fantastic; the owner's wife gave me an unbeatable tip – the water ladle is definitely the best weapon! 😂 I'm already looking forward to bringing my family back!

XiaopingziliyoudaodacaihongTaking advantage of the tail end of summer vacation, I brought my daughter to Qiandao Lake for a family trip. After comparing several options, I chose this hotel, and our three-day, two-night stay was perfect, truly one of the top parent-child resorts in the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai area. I genuinely recommend it to all parents traveling with children.
The hotel's location is excellent, occupying a central lakeside peninsula of Qiandao Lake. It's surrounded by the lake on three sides, offering expansive views. From the popular photo spots on the 5th and 6th floors, you can directly face the beautiful Qiandao Lake scenery.
My only regret was that since we were traveling with friends, our travel dates were set a bit last minute, and we couldn't book two lake-view twin rooms. We had to settle for two landscape-view twin rooms. I want to thank our butler, Ziva, for specifically reserving two of the largest landscape rooms for us. The children had so much space to run around; the rooms were truly super, super spacious. Next time, I might choose a lake-view room for a different experience.
The hotel provides a complete set of complimentary child-friendly items: a children's toilet seat, non-slip footstool, baby toiletries, small slippers, and a bed rail. The thoughtful details exceeded our expectations. The room and bathroom were clean, tidy, and odorless, and the toiletries were high-quality – Bulgari bath products, which was a nice touch! The sheets and pillows were soft and breathable. Our butler, Ziva, even thoughtfully mentioned that if the pillows were too soft, harder ones were available, which was very considerate. After a busy day, we slept soundly, and the soundproofing was excellent; we couldn't hear any noise from the corridor.
The most amazing part was the hotel's 3,000-square-meter children's playground. This was the highlight of our trip and our favorite feature. It's incredibly spacious, and both toddlers and older children can find something fun to do. My daughter played in the ocean ball pit with the multi-story giant slide dozens of times and didn't want to leave. The dinosaur sandbox was equipped with a full set of digging tools and was clean and free of debris. There was also a carousel, a princess dress-up area, and a building block craft area where little girls could try on various princess dresses for photos. The playground is staffed by dedicated supervisors, provides free non-slip socks upon entry, and has clean restrooms and water dispensers inside, allowing parents to relax and unwind. In addition to the indoor playground, there were mini go-karts and a VR arcade on the basement level, which older children also enjoyed. On the first floor, there was also a screening room and an arcade, where I managed to win quite a few dolls for my daughter.
The hotel also has large outdoor water activities and an indoor heated pool. Unfortunately, my daughter had a bit of an upset stomach before we left, so we couldn't experience them, which was a shame. Every evening at 7:30 and 8:30, there were two 88-meter-long water screen movies. The lights combined with the lake created an incredible atmosphere, and my daughter watched mesmerized. The only downside was that it was quite sweaty outdoors in the summer heat, but the good news was there were no mosquitoes.
Dining was equally delightful. The hotel's buffet breakfast offered a rich variety, with a dedicated children's area featuring steamed dim sum, yogurt, cartoon-shaped pastries, and fresh squeezed juices. The ingredients were fresh, and the restaurant staff were attentive, proactively bringing baby utensils. We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel's buffet Western restaurant; the dishes were fresh, complete, and the quality was top-notch. The hotel also provided discount vouchers for the buffet dinner, which saved us a good amount. It happened to be Qixi Festival (Chinese Valentine's Day) on the night we had dinner, and the hotel even gave us themed heart-shaped cakes, which was a very lovely gesture.
The entire hotel staff provided warm and thoughtful service. From the front desk check-in to the cleaning staff and the playground attendants, everyone was exceptionally patient with children. They proactively gave children small gifts during check-in, greeted my daughter whenever they saw her, and never pushed any sales, maintaining just the right balance in their service. Food delivery from outside was also convenient; orders could be picked up from a designated spot in the lobby on the first floor or delivered to the room by a robot.
Additionally, the hotel offered a complimentary travel photography session. The emerging travel photographers were excellent, preserving precious memories of our trip. They also offered a reasonable discount on the digital negatives when we selected our photos, which we appreciated.
This trip to Qiandao Lake with my daughter, thanks to Minghao Hotel, eliminated all the usual exhaustion of traveling with children. The huge children's playground, two pools, prime lake views, thoughtful child-friendly amenities, and meticulous, warm service were all top-notch. The value for money far exceeded other resorts in the same price range. Whether for a short weekend getaway with kids or a multi-day family vacation, it's perfectly suited. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Qiandao Lake, and I genuinely recommend it to everyone!
Finally, I want to thank butler Ziva again for her attentive answers before check-in and her enthusiastic and thoughtful service during our stay. The emotional value she provided throughout made me feel exceptionally welcomed and respected. I truly look forward to seeing her again on my next stay!

Guest UserNestled on a peninsula of Qiandao Lake, The ANLAN Qiandao Lake blends seamlessly with the surrounding mountains and water, its traditional Huizhou-style white walls and dark tiles painting a picturesque Jiangnan landscape. All accommodations are private villas, offering spacious interiors and panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows that perfectly frame the lake views. The lakeside bathtub adds a touch of luxurious ambiance, and the amenities are thoughtfully selected. Privacy is excellent. Our butler, Eva, provided meticulous and attentive service, responding promptly to all our needs. The resort offers a shuttle service for getting around the expansive property, and the infinity pool is stunning for photos. Guests can also enjoy water activities like paddleboarding. The hotel is a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle; wake up to misty lake mornings and enjoy peaceful sunsets over the water, fully immersing yourself in the quiet serenity of nature. For our self-driving trip from Hangzhou, the large size of the resort meant waiting for the shuttle to get around. Overall, it's an ideal place for a relaxing getaway, and perfect for couples and families seeking a peaceful retreat. 👍

georgeshenThe hotel was fully booked on the day of our check-in, and we arrived over an hour early. Several staff members introduced us to various activities to pass the time, including a dedicated room for movies, board games, and a swimming pool. While waiting for our room, the service and amenities at InterContinental Danyang were exceptionally warm and thoughtful.
The room was a family lake-view suite, accommodating four people. The hotel's location, far from the central lake area, was incredibly tranquil, with no tourists by the lake. Away from city light pollution, we surprisingly saw the Milky Way on our first night, a rare sight in East China.
The swimming pool offered different children's activities daily. The botanical garden had a vast array of flowers and butterflies, along with a koi and swan pond where we could feed the fish. The hotel's two wings also featured a lighthouse and an observation deck.
The buffet dinner had everything we could ask for, and on Chinese Valentine's Day, they even gave out roses. The fish head dish at the Chinese restaurant was absolutely superb. Breakfast deserves special praise; despite the hotel being fully booked, we could order noodles via our phones, and the staff proactively asked about our coffee preferences. This is exactly the standard expected from an established InterContinental brand, and even with the summer crowd, the service and quality were uncompromised.
Finally, a special shout-out to our thoughtful butler, Emily. From the moment we checked in, she was incredibly attentive. On our last day, we had an early morning departure for a yacht in the central lake area. Without hesitation, Emily helped us arrange a late check-out, even during the busy summer season.
To be honest, when I heard that the InterContinental was being rebranded, I had some reservations, worrying about a potential drop in service. However, after staying here, I can confidently say that this is by far the best hotel in China, in terms of both quality and service, that we've stayed at with our child during the summer season. Both its hard and soft assets are top-notch, and its service easily rivals that of established luxury hotel brands. I rarely choose to stay at the same hotel twice in the same location, but InterContinental Danyang has made me eagerly anticipate my next visit.

LovelyxiaoyuerBooked a lake view room and got an upgrade upon check-in. The room was quite spacious, though the decor felt a bit dated. The open-plan bathroom, with the bathtub and sink integrated into the room, was a bit unusual for me, but it was great that each room had a dehumidifier. The service was excellent; rooms were cleaned quickly, and breakfast offered a good variety, with plates cleared efficiently. Direct access to the water park from the first floor was super convenient. Lunch at the hotel was a bit pricey but tasted good. I'd definitely consider staying here again. Finally, the high-speed rail shuttle service was good, though the air conditioning in the vehicle wasn't very effective.

It’s a chilly season, but the welcome was so warm! Really enjoyed the excellent, attentive service。 Plentiful hot water, quiet rooms, we got an upgrade ☺️ and the breakfast options are varied and suit most tastes.
Do remember to bring a warm layer to breakfast as they often open the patio doors and it gets drafty, and organize your translation, food delivery, and DiDi apps and eSIM - wifi is unstable and the ******* applet on Alipay was unusable.
Thankfully the location is great, walkable to the InTime mall and many local food spots and fruit shops. And the views are wonderful - weekend evenings have the downtown buildings light up in displays that beautifully reflect on the lake.
The foreigner husband gives it a 4/5, and recommends the hotel to add a fresh-cooked egg/omelet station and to make sure hot food stays hot (the warming pans were usually not on).

The location was good if you are planning an early boat trip, as it is only a 2 minute walk away from the pier. But if you want to sleep in, you hear the boat horns as each one departs in the morning. Is is not walkable distance to the center, but a quick didi ride away only. My initial room that I booked (single room), despite being promoted as a non smoking room, smelled horrific when I entered. They immediately changed my room when I told them about it. The shower had mould stains, but I am assuming they might have been older stains as even my highly allergic nose did not have any trouble. I did not try the breakfast as I was looking for something with protein, but breakfast was included. I believe I saw boiled corn, steamed sweet potatoes and a type of bao bun. Not fully sure. When I had trouble renting ebikes without local ID, the staff were very helpful and spent 30 minutes handling it all for us. Was given slippers on arrival, but no toothbrush or toothpaste. The room had showergel and shampoo, but no handsoap. There was a bottle of slimey something in the bathroom, maybe that was handsoap, did not want to risk it. But overall, was a nice stay.

Elevemm52I specifically chose the Brettonwood Resort for my trip to Qiandao Lake this time, and the overall stay exceeded my expectations – it was absolutely fantastic! Our butler, Mei Mei, was incredibly attentive and deserves a special shout-out!
The hotel's location is excellent; I could enjoy the stunning lake and mountain views right from my window. In the mornings, there was a beautiful mist, and in the evenings, gorgeous sunsets. The scenery was truly breathtaking.
The front desk staff were warm and patient, and the check-in and check-out process was smooth. Any requests were handled promptly. The resort grounds are serene and elegant, with lush greenery and even a petting zoo. The kids absolutely loved feeding the peacocks, ducks, bunnies, foxes, raccoons, and piglets. It's also very pet-friendly.
The breakfast buffet offered a rich variety, especially the noodle and vermicelli station with a wide selection of condiments. They even had homemade chili and ginger, which was a real treat for spice lovers. Parking for self-drivers is convenient, and it's particularly well-suited for family vacations. This will be my top choice for Qiandao Lake; I'll definitely be back!
