"I booked the cheapest twin room on the 26th floor, offering a direct view of the Bell Tower from above. The room was incredibly spacious, probably over 50 square meters, and even had a bathtub. While the furniture was quite basic, the front desk service was absolutely excellent. I also visited the gym. The building itself is a former Sydney Post Office, so many people come to take photos. There are even two free daily tours about the building, but I didn't have time to join. Overall, staying here was a great experience. It definitely gave off a 'old money' vibe."

"We booked a week's stay here, and were relieved to check out. We were staying on the 1st floor, in a private double room with shared bathroom. The bathrooms were disgusting throughout our week there, neither the male or female shower room was cleaned the entire week we were there. I was worried I'd catch a foot disease. The men's shower smelt of poo and piss by the end of the week. There was an accumulation of shower gels, a toothbrush, scum on the walls and the same clump of hair which all greeted me every morning. The shower door didn't close properly either, so the floor was always soaked with stagnant water. The toilets were cleaned only once during our week stay - and only because I complained. Our bedroom curtain had mould and dried up sick on it and has probably never been cleaned either. The air con also stank up the room. The windows can't be opened either, so we couldn't get any fresh air in. Our room's TV was useless because our remote didn't work, apart from the power button. Again, we brought this to the attention of staff but, after 3 reminders, the mythical ”maintenance team” that they kept mentioning never resolved the issue, and in the end we gave up trying. The TV remote was also filthy and looked like it could crawl away at any moment. There was also lots of dust in our room, particularly under the bed. Good points - it's in a great location, and the staff were friendly as were most of the guests. We get that you get what you pay for to some extent, but we have moved to a different hostel for the same price and are much happier. If other reviews are to be believed, maybe our area of the hotel was just being neglected by staff during our stay. We are sorry to leave a bad review but it was not a good experience."

"I got a package of breakfast, plus a $50 daily meal voucher and parking. Though we didn't drive there. By doing that we saved quite a lot. The food of in room dining was amazingly delicious, but not cheap. Using the $50 voucher we didn't have to pay much extra. We are not big eaters, so a couple of meals shared, was enough for us. We spent most of our time in the Casino and if you don't go overboard it can be a lot of fun. I was disappointed that Messina in the food court doesn't open until 3pm. We are not young so walking around is a challenge and I couldn't see anywhere else that had ice cream. The Staff are helpful and courteous. This time I booked a suite, which was nicer than the standard room. I did think that the bathroom would have a bath, but it only had a shower. I liked that it had 2 toilets and both were quite private. Next time I will see if I can get a bath. The food in the Harvest Buffet is ok, but most of the time it's not very hot. On our last day we had the Chef make us an omelette. Wish I had done that on the other days. Orange juice was nice. Coffee was luke warm and bitter. Our Son is a Chef, so our food standards are high. I don't like to criticise, but I do think that I should be honest with my experience. Yes I will definitely go there again and it was worth what I paid for."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic stay with an amazing Opera House view! We absolutely loved our stay at the Shangri-La Sydney. The location is fantastic and made it so easy to explore Sydney on foot. Circular Quay and the ferries are only about a 10-minute walk away, the Opera House around 15 minutes, and the main shopping area about 20 minutes. There are also plenty of great restaurants and cafés nearby. We had booked a room with an Opera House view and were delighted to be upgraded to an Executive Opera House View room. The view from our room on the 14th floor was absolutely incredible — looking out over Sydney Harbour and the Opera House was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. We arrived after a long flight and were able to check in early, which was fantastic and very much appreciated. It gave us the chance to settle in and relax before heading out to explore Sydney. The staff were wonderful throughout our stay — genuinely friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. Great location, beautiful hotel, excellent service and an unforgettable view. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay during our time in Sydney and would happily stay here again!"

"I stayed for five nights, and the hotel's location is excellent. Everything listed below is within a 10-minute walk: Sydney's bustling pedestrian streets, QVB (Queen Victoria Building) for shopping, luxury stores near Sydney Tower, Circular Quay ⛵️, Darling Harbour, museums, art galleries, the Botanical Garden, and Sydney University… all very close. A taxi to the Fish Market cost 33 AUD and took 8 minutes. Alternatively, it's a 30-minute walk. The only downside to the room was its size; with two suitcases, there was hardly any space to move. There were no slippers or toothbrushes, but these could be obtained from the front desk; we brought our own. There are several convenience stores downstairs. In Sydney, convenience stores without a liquor license cannot sell alcohol, so if you want a drink, head to a bar or buy alcohol beforehand from a licensed store to avoid searching later. We found one such store at Circular Quay. Manly Beach is accessible from Circular Quay and offers beautiful scenery. There's also a good Chinese restaurant nearby called 'Mr. Huang's shop'."

"Facilities: Well-equipped. Cleanliness: Spotless. Service: Exceptionally warm and welcoming. The buffet restaurant managed to find us a table even though we didn't have a reservation on the night we arrived, which made the kids very happy. It's very close to the aquarium, and the whale watching pier is also nearby. It was a really great stay, and the kids felt the staff's enthusiasm, even trying to speak English, which was an unexpected bonus!"

"The hotel is located in Darling Harbour, just a 5-minute walk from the aquarium, zoo, and Madame Tussauds. The room clearly shows its age, but the unparalleled balcony view makes up for it, and it's spotlessly clean. The breakfast selection isn't huge, but there are plenty of fruit and bread options, fresh juice, and a good variety of coffee. The staff are very friendly and engaging! **Highlights 🤩**: There's a water and ice dispenser on every floor, available 24/7. We didn't need to buy any water during our stay, and you can choose between water, half ice, or full ice 🧊. **Pros**: Excellent location, incredible ocean views, and the service quality of a seasoned five-star hotel is definitely still present. **Cons**: The room facilities are a bit dated, and the soundproofing isn't great. It really depends on your personal preferences."

"hi, guys. i stayed there for a week, was insane literally! there are many nationality and can make friends. in addition, there is PS4 hahaha!! i played FIFA with people who i met there. about reception staffs are so kind and had a good hospitality!! i wanna stay there again when i have a oppotunity, thanks"

"Fantastic! The location is super convenient, not far from the airport – just four train stops away. It's also really close to the city center, making it easy to get to Chinatown or find a place to eat. The room was clean and hygienic, and they even changed the sheets after just two nights."

"Convenient location, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Room service was a bit slow, but even though the facilities are a bit old, they're well-maintained. A small issue though: when I called room service from my room phone, the hotel staff didn't seem to know which room number the call was coming from, which felt a bit odd."
