"Excellent location and very clean rooms. Reasonable price in Ottawa. The only downside was that the beds were not too comfortable but its acceptable if you are not too picky."

"For my first time staying overnight at Ottawa, I booked a hotel room for one night at Lord Elgin. Upon arriving early at the hotel, I was provided with a room before my check-in time - which was very appreciated. The facilities are clean and the staff is friendly. However, little did we know, our room on the 7th floor was connected to another room with adjoining doors. We were unable to sleep through the night as the room had little to no sound isolation from the connecting room, in which a baby was crying all night. I am baffled as to how we were able to hear every single noise: coughing and sneezing from the parents in the other room, their toilet flushing and the baby crying throughout the entire night. We were unable to sleep comfortably and woke up with splitting headaches. I booked this hotel to be the closest possible to the Rideau Canal Skateway, but I will have to find another hotel the next time."

"We enjoyed our stay up until the day of our checkout. We were running a bit late so I phoned reception to request a later checkout around 12. The receptionist informed me that they were not allowing any late checkouts. So we hurried around and managed to checkout on time. We then loaded our vehicle and sat down to have a coffee. While having a coffee we noticed many people checking out after 11am. Also I have not received my receipt yet. Would you please check into this for me. The picture is of sunset from our room. "My experience at the Business Inn was brilliant. Smooth check in and no issues at all, staff at the front desk were all wonderful: patient, kind, knowledgeable. Constantly welcoming me back to the hotel! Something small that I appreciate. The room was wonderful, all the appliances worked brilliantly, and I was honestly astounded by the amount of space for the price! Very good value. Furthermore, the room cleanliness was perfect, I had no concerns and always felt good coming home. Loved the location, lots of action and good feelings in the neighborhood. I truly could not be happier with my experience. Thank you very much!"

"The breakfast is very good. Although it is frozen fruit, it is also a good way for travelers to supplement fiber. The bed is a bit soft, which makes my back and waist sore. The room is simple but clean, and the bathroom is in good condition."

"This hotel is nice & cozy. Clean pool & gym, good breakfast. There is a small shop at Lobby. A supermarket “Food Basics” will be opening soon opposite the hotel, this is very good if you prefer to cook meals. Subway is just opposite too & lots of buses stop by around the hotel. Walking to China town takes only 15-20 mins where you can dine at different restaurants. We will stay here again next time when visiting Ottawa."

"We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights, they had issues checking us in as the booking was made through trip.com which went through *******. Somehow they figured it out later. The room was spacious, clean. They provided room services every day except for one day when they were understaffed. Shower has only half door so be ready for some splashes. I recommend bringing your own body wash (they provide soap which is hard to wash off) and shampoo. People who can't sleep with noise in the room, should consider their options. Air conditioning is super loud (like factory machine) , it constantly woke us up at night, there is no option to open a window instead. Breakfasts are always the same, not a single thing changes: fried/boiled eggs, sausages, pork?cutlets, pancakes, apples, oatmeal, bread. The dining room was always overcrowded, the space should be at least twice as big. Sometimes we came and there was no food, so we had to wait for someone to come and bring food (they don't have a person there on a regular basis). I can't say our experience was bad, but it was not great either."

"hotel was nice and clean! it’s walking distance to the byward market- only issue is parking if you have a pickup truck the garage parking only accommodates trucks and SUVS on the first floor and if that’s not available you will have to park at the mall parking right across the hotel."

"Clean hotel with comfortable rooms. About 20 minutes to the main attractions downtown. Really nothing to complain about except a few really minor details. 1. There is not exhaust fan in the bathroom. 2. There is a big gap under the door that let's noise and light in at night 3. The elevators are really squeaky:); and 4. They should have orange juice, not orange 'drink' for breakfast."

"Where to begin... first of all, when I made this booking, there was no mention whatsoever of HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION beginning every day at 7 a.m. Naturally upon checking in, I'm informed that there is intense construction happening right next door. And yes, it was brutal. I also SPECIFICALLY booked this hotel because there was an option to reserve now, pay at the hotel. Here are some direct quotes from my booking confirmation email: ”You'll need to pay upon check-in at Andaz Ottawa Byward Market, by Hyatt,” ”Your payment will be handled by Andaz Ottawa Byward Market, by Hyatt,” and ”Pay at Hotel.” Sure enough, I get there, and the money's already been taken out of my credit card and I owe nothing to the hotel upon check-in. (This matters for reimbursement purposes at the company I work for.) Lastly, I was told when I checked in that housekeeping would be visiting every third day -- that was fine by me. But the very first day, I come back to my room after a long day and someone's been there, replacing towels, removing the minimal garbage in there, etc., which I was not at all prepared for given that I was advised the opposite. It made me extremely uncomfortable because all of my personal effects were left throughout the room, not expecting housekeeping given that I was advised no housekeeping would be coming until the third day. I'll be honest, that creeped me out as someone travelling alone. The staff were apologetic but I didn't find their explanation at all sufficient. (The housekeeping manager and front desk attendant completely contradicted each other.) Overall, such a chaotic stay. Oh, and, the heat in my room didn't work. Had to request a space heater... I mean, c'mon."
