It's a charming, antique-style Chinese traditional dwelling. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained with modern facilities. The breakfast was also excellent. I was very satisfied with this hotel; the service was great too. The front desk manager even upgraded my room for free upon check-in. There's also a large underground parking garage, which is very convenient for those traveling by car. There are plenty of dining and shopping options nearby, and it's lovely to take a stroll along the pedestrian street in the evening and enjoy the night views."

The hotel is conveniently located right next to the tourist bus station, with a direct bus to Tongren Grand Canyon – how incredibly convenient! They didn't leave until they confirmed our afternoon itinerary was all sorted. We're so grateful to them! They've made us fall in love with Tongren, and if we ever come back, we'd love to stay here again."

"Facilities: A well-established five-star hotel with all the expected amenities. They even have a delivery robot that brings food right to your room.
Hygiene: The cleaning staff, especially the auntie, was excellent. Knowing there were three of us, she provided three sets of towels and toiletries.
Environment: The only slight downside is that the dining area is a bit far from the hotel, though you can also dine in your room.
Service: Xiao Peng at the front desk proactively extended our check-out time, which was a huge help. Another staff member, I think her name was Xiao Shu, kindly offered complimentary breakfast for our child for three days. Very thoughtful!"

Service: The housekeeper contacted us in advance and recommended some good local restaurants. However, they might be short-staffed as the front desk was often unattended.
One issue was that the room was very large, but there was heavy rain that night, and the toilet leaked. It's an old house, so it's understandable, but it still needs to be repaired promptly."

"So far, this is the 3rd hotel we stayed in Tongren, i would definitely say, this is the best and so far for me and family. This JinJiang hotspring hotel really met international standard in terms of counter service (very polite and good attitude receptionist), and service at hotspring area deserves a thumbs up. The room is very spacious, nice interior and important - clean and neat. The water playground is definitely a good place for kids to have fun during summer holiday.
I told the hotel desk that it was my actual birthday yesterday, guess what, they sent me a plate of grapes, so sweet of them.
I would definitely come to this hotel next time when i am visiting my niece and nephew again."

"This hotel is super close to the train station. As soon as you exit, just look to your right and you'll see the big, clear 'Yinfeng Hotel' sign. It's literally a one or two-minute walk – so convenient! The soundproofing on the windows is great, so it's pretty quiet. Inside, the hotel is really well-decorated, the hot water pressure is excellent, and the bathroom facilities are quite high-end, with fully smart toilets and curtains. The bedding is clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were also very helpful. We left our luggage at the front desk when we went to visit Fanjing Mountain and stayed here again when we came back. The price is also very reasonable. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Fanjing Mountain!"

"Absolutely loved the enormous bathtub in the room – it was big enough for three kids! The room layout was also very well-designed. The Doumi Wild Vegetable Hot Pot downstairs was incredibly delicious; it wasn't spicy, which was perfect for the children, and we just couldn't get enough of it. There's also a lamb noodle shop, a convenience store, and a coffee shop downstairs, making everything super convenient. This is definitely the hotel I'll book again next time I'm in Tongren."

"Three friends and I decided to visit Tongren on a whim for the May Day holiday, and we were surprised by how great the hotel we booked was. First, the hotel is located right in the old town, near a popular beef noodle shop with long queues – a really good location. Second, the service was absolutely fantastic! The staff proactively brought our luggage to the front desk, and when we checked in, the receptionist noticed we only had two complimentary breakfasts for the three of us and offered to give us an extra one! Turns out, the breakfast we had was the best we had in Tongren during our stay! After checking in, while we were waiting for our friends on the sofa, the lobby manager or someone else noticed we had a slight cold and offered to help us. This level of service is unmatched by other hotels. From now on, I'll only stay at Fenghuang Hotel. Looking forward to coming back again! [Sun][Sun]"

Stepping off the car, crossing a small bridge, and entering the courtyard, there was an immediate sense of familiarity and peace. A babbling stream flowed in front, while silent mountains loomed behind. The courtyard was lush with greenery, exuding the scent of damp earth and the passage of time. Moss slowly spread along the flagstone path, and bamboo shadows swayed gently. Koi fish glided serenely in the pond, and the bell by the entrance chimed softly in the breeze, making you instinctively lighten your steps. This wasn't some contrived 'Chinese style,' but a place truly lived in.
Their attentiveness was subtle but profound. Knowing roughly when we'd arrive, they'd already warmed the room, even the comforter was toasty. A wisp of sandalwood incense was slowly burning, and the tea set was neatly arranged, as if awaiting its owner's return. The moment I opened the door, my heart felt at ease.
The furnishings inside reflected a restrained and tasteful Chinese aesthetic. Carved wooden window lattices, soaring double-leaf Chinese doors, and soft, warm lighting – each item seemed to have stepped out of an earlier time. The collected artifacts and calligraphies were not flashy, yet each quietly told its own story.
For dinner, we decided to stay in rather than venture out, opting for a 'home-cooked meal.' Upon hearing our request, the auntie immediately sprang into action – she went to another part of the property, caught a chicken, and stewed a fresh pot of chicken soup. Then she dug fresh fiddlehead ferns from the vegetable patch, still carrying the aroma of earth. There were also her homemade salted duck eggs, not overly salty, yet oily with just one bite.
The firewood slowly burned, the soup in the pot gently simmered, and the aroma of the food gradually filled the air. That scent wasn't the refined fragrance of a restaurant, but the long-missed, comforting taste of home.
This isn't just a 'chic' guesthouse; it’s far more touching than many of them. It's like a well-preserved slice of life – quiet, authentic, and full of warmth.
This is a place one will remember and want to return to for another short stay.

The lady boss is very considerate and will get up early to cook eggs for the guests. When checking out in the morning to catch the train, the boss enthusiastically reminded me not to forget to take the eggs, which was very touching. There are coffee and other drinks and small snacks and desserts available at the front desk. The room also provides a washing machine, a disinfection cabinet and a smart toilet. The price-performance ratio of this hotel is quite high. The only drawback is that the window sound insulation is a bit poor. You can hear the sound of the train, and wearing earplugs does not affect your sleep. RRaghunath C G NairAmazing! Fascinating! Fanjingshan was the final stop of our memorable 10-day tour of Guizhou Province, and we truly could not have chosen a better place to conclude our journey. We felt genuinely blessed to stay at this lovely guesthouse for three nights. From the very beginning, the owner Mr. Zhang Haotian and his family made us feel completely at home; they were warm, engaging, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile.
The rooms are tastefully designed and thoughtfully laid out, perfectly sized for comfort. Our room offered a soothing view of the river, along with a private balcony; an ideal spot to relax with your favourite tea or coffee. The modern touches were impressive too, especially the high-tech sensor toilet, which added a pleasant surprise. The three-storey guesthouse is equipped with an elevator, a thoughtful convenience for guests with heavy luggage or those who may find climbing stairs challenging.
Dinner, lovingly cooked by the family, was absolutely delicious, with generous portions that reflected both their hospitality and culinary skill. Every meal felt homely and satisfying. We only wish we had taken more and better photographs of the guesthouse. Without a doubt, this is one place we will return to.
As for the enchanting Fanjing Mountain itself, the owner drove us to the scenic area entrance. He even offered to pick us up later, but we chose to walk back instead, enjoying the cool climate. Fanjing Mountain is magical in its own right. The steep cable car ride to the summit, which takes over 20 minutes, was an experience in itself, offering breathtaking views of the mountain ranges stretching endlessly around us. At the top stands the age-old Buddhist temple, serene and awe-inspiring, perfectly harmonising with its natural surroundings.
We loved the guesthouse, we are very grateful to Mr. Zhang and his family for their kindness, and deeply thankful for the unforgettable experience at Fanjing Mountain. It was the perfect ending to a remarkable journey.

GGuest UserThe lady at the front desk was incredibly welcoming and warm. We didn't arrive until 10:30 PM, but she had called us earlier to confirm our arrival time and even upgraded our room. The air conditioning was wonderfully warm, the hot water was excellent, and the bedding was very comfortable. She also allowed us to park our car directly in front of the guesthouse. Even after check-out, she mentioned that we could still come back to the guesthouse for a free shower and to change clothes after descending Mount Fanjing. This place absolutely deserves a huge thumbs up!

Before choosing a place, I hesitated about whether to stay closer to the scenic area entrance, but based on my experience, I would recommend staying directly in the village. It's more physically demanding for hiking, and meals are more convenient. The owner can pick you up and drop you off at the scenic area entrance. We also found out after arriving that you can arrange pick-up and drop-off services in Tongren city in advance, and the price is slightly cheaper than taking a taxi. The owners are very easy to talk to, so there's no need to worry about any disputes. Although the facilities aren't particularly high-end, it's worth the price.

GGuest UserOver the years, I've mostly opted for B&Bs when traveling. So, when I saw the spacious, stylish, and comfortable common areas at Huanlin, I was truly surprised. For a B&B, such amenities feel quite luxurious.
The room itself is large with simple decor, comfortable bedding, and a full set of disposable toiletries. It also features smart home appliances throughout. Everything was pretty much perfect, except for the bathroom door not having a lock.
The B&B is conveniently located, just a 10-15 minute walk from the scenic area entrance and the visitor center.
The hostess was incredibly warm and welcoming. After our visit to Fanjing Mountain the next day, she even proactively helped us arrange transport to Tongren, cut us some watermelon, and invited us to share their homemade lunch. Beyond her excellent customer service, she was constantly busy with renovations for the outdoor space in the backyard. It's clear she's put a lot of heart into running this B&B, and I believe she'll bring even more wonderful improvements to Huanlin Courtyard.

The bridge over the river is a fantastic spot for photos; it's very picturesque, featuring traditional ethnic themes and artistic elements, combined with classic Chinese covered bridge architecture. From the room, looking out, the river, bridge, and ancient willow trees perfectly form a beautiful painting.
