"This hotel offers good value for money. The subway station downstairs is a 3-line interchange, and the 6001 bus right outside goes directly to Incheon Airport. The hotel thoughtfully provides roach spray and a humidifier in every room. Half of the rooms in this hotel face a wall, making them almost completely dark during the day. I recommend paying extra for a street-view room."

"This accommodation exceeded my expectations overall! Although it's a 20-minute walk from the subway, the room was brand new and spotless. The cleverly designed small entryway provided good sound insulation, and the spacious bathroom was very comfortable. The electric blanket was a thoughtful touch, and the private balcony was perfect for a smoke. Even more surprising, a famous crab restaurant, highly recommended on YouTube, is right downstairs. The area is packed with great and reasonably priced food options. Definitely worth recommending!"

"Had an okay stay at this hotel. Room was a bit small, especially if you have two large suitcases. We could still hear street noise at night even from the 17th floor, which made sleeping a little tough. The location is close to Yeongdeungpo subway station but it’s still a distance from most popular spots (45 mins to Gangnam/ Seongsu, 30 mins to Myeongdong) convenient only if you’re working or staying nearby for a specific reason. On the positive side, we received excellent service from Heather, who helped us a lot and truly made a difference during our stay. Wouldn’t really recommend this hotel unless you need to be in the immediate area."

"It was exceptionally clean! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. While it's a bit of a walk from the station, it wasn't inconvenient at all. The location is excellent, and the lounge, accessible even late at night, offered amenities like ice. The common area also had a fridge and water dispenser, so I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The overall cleanliness was impressive, and the room was perfectly sized for a solo traveler. I would definitely stay here again!"

"My standard hotel when I'm in Seoul. It's at Gongdeok which has 4 subway lines. Buses that are direct to most attraction spots. So convenient, and even an airport limousine bus right outside the hotel. Don't have to drag the luggages around on the subway. Very clean and everything is just perfect. The pillow is a tad bit soft but that's a personal opinion! Will be back again! The street side stall opposite the hotel is also amazing!"

"A typical Japanese chain hotel, offering reasonable prices and free breakfast. It's about a 7-8 minute walk from the subway. There's a CU mart right beside the hotel as well😁 However, the staff's professionalism needs improvement. Compared to the Busan branch, they were less welcoming. The biggest hiccup was how they handled my linked stay: I had two separate nights booked and confirmed a continuous stay during check-in, but the key card for one room stopped working on the second day. This required me to waste time going back to the front desk to get it fixed. Good value overall, but they definitely need to improve their service attention and internal processing procedures."

"I chose the L'Escape Hotel in Myeongdong for my trip to Korea with my child, mainly for a K-pop idol event. I looked at countless reviews before deciding on their Deluxe Triple Suite. The hotel is new, and the room was large, spacious, and comfortable. The bathroom had a great dry/wet separation, and the toiletries were high-quality. There were two separate, clean, and bright toilets, and the bedding was very comfortable. Downstairs, there's a simple cafe, and the location is super convenient, just a few minutes' walk to Gongdeok subway station – you don't even need to cross the road from Exit 1. The airport limousine bus stop is right downstairs (the one for arrivals is at the Garden Hotel across the street, but the one for departures to the airport is just about 50 meters down the road from L'Escape). Taking the bus from Incheon Airport was incredibly convenient. There's also an Olive Young downstairs. I forgot to take pictures of the room, but all in all, I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Korea!👍"

Breakfast is available at the Cafe on the second floor. From the hotel, Gimpo Airport is a 22-minute subway ride east on Airport Railroad Line. It takes about an hour either by car or airport train to reach Incheon International Airport. The famous Yeouido Hangang Park and The Hyundai Seoul are both a 5-minute subway ride away on Line 5.

"Since my first stay at Shilla Stay Mapo in late 2023, I've probably stayed here over a dozen times. Let me summarize my experience. First, you need to consider its location: check on a map if Shilla Stay Mapo is convenient for the places you plan to visit. It's just one subway stop from Hongdae, making access to Hongdae very convenient. For other destinations, you should check your route on Naver Maps beforehand. The hotel is served by Subway Line 5, Line 6, and the Airport Railroad. If you're traveling with luggage, remember to use Exit 2, which has a direct elevator. From Subway Exit 2, cross the street, walk past a post office, and you'll reach the hotel. The 'Gongdeok Station' and 'Mapo Station' exits near the hotel also offer numerous bus connections. The elevators require key card access to select a floor, ensuring good security. The front desk staff speak excellent English, so if you know a little English, the check-in process will be very smooth. I'm not sure if they speak Chinese, but they do speak Japanese. You can request a bathtub or a shower when you check in; simply tell the front desk if you prefer a 'bathtub' or a 'shower,' and they can usually accommodate your preference. The bathroom is very large and spacious, and the vanity counter is big enough to hold all the toiletries for a family. The hotel provides shower gel, shampoo, hand soap, and conditioner. Other items are not complimentary. They do offer disposable toothbrushes, but there's a charge of 1,000 KRW for them. Regarding bedding, pillows, and cleanliness, I personally have never encountered any issues. For soundproofing, it's generally quiet most of the time, though there's little you can do when occasional guests are particularly noisy. Rooms are also quite spacious. Double rooms tend to be a bit more spacious than twin rooms, so I recommend opting for a double room. The desks and sofas vary across different rooms and room types; some have long desks, others have small round tables, and some have square tables. Personally, I find this hotel offers excellent value for money in this area. As long as its location is convenient for the places you plan to visit, I highly recommend choosing it."

"I have to say as a first time sole female traveler— I always travel solo and I must say! this place is a gem! Lemme tell you first, the entrance to the hotel is at the side (I am bad with directions)… if you come late and the mall is close, face left and entrance is just at the side lol. In front of the hotel, there are lots of restaurants and you can always eat as solo traveler. Lots of choices and good foods. Lots of street market vendors if you just walk 1-2minutes and love this. I initially dont like the room (because of the view) (I only book places for their views tbh) as I have initially asked for a good view room on my request and all ;; and as what was advertised but it is my mistake for not booking city view room but I saw on some reviews they got nice city view room; and had to ask for a change because I stayed for 6nights. They advised as it was late, they have got no rooms available and informed me they will change on the next day. They promptly changed it on the morning itself saving me the time in to initially checking out and wait for availability. They were really quick in addressing the concerns I have and was very helpful. Really appreciate it as a first timer visitor in the city. Will definitely come back to this hotel and will book city view room next because so worth it!!!! Thank you for being so kind and helpful ❤️❤️ DDP is just 5mins walk and was so mesmerised! I have got the trail view and the trail is just so pretty! Will include the pictures of the trail! Once you got on the trail, you can see Namsan Tower as well! Very very wonderful stay!"

MMary KathrynWe were able to locate the guest house easily using Naver Map. However, our first struggle was how to reach the destination itself. The guesthouse is located in an uphill area, almost near Namsan Cable Car (600km/20min walk). A great tip we discovered (after struggling of walking uphill for 2 days 😂) was using the escalators/elevators near the Ihoeyeong Memorial Hall. Go straight from there and you’ll find a 7-Eleven convenience store upon crossing the street. Go left then right at the first wide alley way you see, it should be uphill. Keep on walking until you see a signage of mama guest house on your right side. We booked a day before our arrival so we could immediately check-in in our rooms. A note welcomed us and our keys were found at the reception area. Pls don’t forget to remove your shoes and change into the slippers they provide found in the shoe cabinet at the left side of the entrance. Our rooms were next to each other, but differ in size. Bathroom was okay, but I hope they’ll fix the sink’s pipe problem in room 104 since it leaks on the floor upon using. I suggest buying shower filters (5,000 Won) since the water in SK is quite harsh. I suggest to test how you’ll adjust the temperature when showering. There were no bidets in our bathrooms. Always bring your keycard with you whenever you go out. They don’t go into your rooms like hotels would. If you have any requests, just leave a note on their desk (ie. New towels, tissue, etc.) They also don’t have laundry machines. Do not eat inside the rooms, only in the kitchen which is in the basement. If you feel like your trash bins are getting full, trash bins are found in the lobby and segregate everything according to their waste category. Just think of it as you’re staying on your own room. Walls are thin, made of light wood materials so I wouldn’t suggest talking nor listening to your phone loudly. Breakfast menu were cereals with milk, bread and flavored jam, and instant noodles. You can only consume what’s inside the fridge unless there’s a note that a room guest owns it. You can cook and buy your own food, just make sure you clean up after. You can also fill-up your water bottles here. Going to different areas are easy too since it’s near Myeongdong Station exit 1. If you’re planning to go shopping in Myeongdong, just go straight after exit 1 and you should see E-Mart across the street then cross on the first crosswalk you see. If you want to enter the “main” street, go left until you see the bug HBAF building. Overall, I think our stay was a good since the staff we get see was very accommodating to our requests. I just hope they’ll fix some of their bathroom leakage.
