"Very friendly and kind service: these are people who are willing to go the distance to ensure you have a nice stay. We asked for an end of corridor room and was given one. Breakfast is ample and will satisfy most hungers. I only suggest that they rotate hot dishes for example so guests who stay several nights may enjoy a little variety. The management should be proud of what they have been able to achieve in the six months since they opened in July 2025."

"This place is so relaxing to stay in! It’s a super nice little cafe with the rooms in the back through locking doors for easy access and security. The service is mostly seen outside your room as there isn’t much to be serviced inside, either way they were very friendly and helpful with menus in different languages and all that. The facilities for our room were all you needed, our “bunks” being cubby’s in the wall with lots of space and a locking compartment below for bags or valuables. The bathroom is tight compared to what I was used to in Canada, but it has your toilet, sink, and shower. What more do you need? Lastly the food was very very good, this was our first stay on our trip from Canada so maybe it’s normal here but it is so fresh and simply tasted awesome! Highly recommend!"

"Everything was perfect, from the smiling front desk staff to the restaurant team. A big thank you to the hotel manager for such impeccable service. "Nice clean comfortable hotel rooms. Shame that they accommodate too many children. In all fairness I was there for 3 nights the first 2 very good but on the last night, they must of put all the children on my floor. These children are at an age were they simply don't have the brain capacity to think. They were banging doors making noise till around 5 in the morning thus meaning I struggled to sleep. I did call down to reception to notify them earlier in the evening, to state I believe there is going to be a problem with these children through the night, obviously nothing was done because the noise continued. I understand that it's all about filling up the rooms, because it's more money for the hotel but if they are going to have youngsters, maybe it should just be an hotel for them only . In the future for future guests these children need supervision, this is surely the only way this would work if you are too continue to accommodate all different age groups."

"We booked this hotel which is not close to the city centre to be able to have a pool to relax after a day visiting Porto. Uber was very affordable if you are in a group, if not, there is an easy bus service to reach the city. There are some options for an evening meal+ supermarket in the area but nothing extraordinary. Dinner in the hotel looked good but we didn't have dinner only breakfast which was good. Room was big and nice, common areas were really lovely. Biggest moan/warning/suggestion for improvement would be: the lifts took for ever (15 floors all in all) lots of queues forming. The wet areas could be so much better. The outdoor pool was overcrowded all the time and had very limited loungers that people took/reserved from 9am, so people even had to sit on the floor. With nowhere to put myself, I went to check the indoor pool. A much nicer space but again nowhere to relax, no loungers or chairs."

"Hotel Vice-Rei is about 10 minutes away. walking distance from the Casa da Música metro station, so getting to the old center of Porto with its main attractions (and the airport) is not the slightest problem. Right behind the hotel there is a very large hall with several dozen bars (restaurants) open until 24:00. So there is no problem even with a late dinner :-) The room we occupied was large and well-equipped. The only thing missing was a cordless kettle (but that's just a detail). First of all, the room was clean and the beds were very comfortable! We also enjoyed breakfast. The selection may not have been amazing, but everything was tasty and fresh. There was something ”sweet” (traditionally for those from the south of Europe, i.e. sweet rolls, jam) and something ”salty” (traditionally for those from the north of Europe, i.e. cheese, cold cuts). As for the hotel service, it was fantastic! Both at the reception and during breakfast. And the staff cleaning the rooms, who can be seen every day and make sure that your stay is also a success! So from our experience, we recommend Hotel Vice-Rei!"

"You might have read this in other reviews and it's true. The hotel doesn't deserve 4 stars. The rooms were pretty small and the Spa (also Spa cap) is not included. I found the hotel breakfast quite good and it had great fresh fruits. The shower and toilet is clean, but small. The matress is hard and high-quality. The money for value ratio is okay, but not great. I liked that its possible to walk to Porto within 20min."

EEmilyI recently spent four nights at Aparthotel Oporto Sol, and while my stay was overall okay, it came with a few drawbacks. First, the location is a bit outside the main area of Porto, which required some extra effort to get into the heart of the city. While the surroundings were quiet and less crowded, I did find myself relying on public transport or taxis more than I would have liked. One of the main issues was the absence of air conditioning in the bedroom. During my stay, the temperatures were warm, and it made things uncomfortable at night. Opening the windows was not an option due to the presence of mosquitoes outside, which meant I struggled to find a comfortable sleeping temperature. On the positive side, the apartment itself was spacious and generally clean. The amenities were adequate for my needs, and the staff was friendly and helpful, albeit a few blocks over. I appreciated the kitchenette, which allowed me to prepare some of my own meals during my stay. In summary, while my stay at Aparthotel Oporto Sol had its merits, the lack of air conditioning and its location outside the main area impacted my overall experience. If you're sensitive to heat or prefer to be in the city center, you may want to consider other options. Otherwise, it serves as a decent accommodation for those seeking a quieter spot.
