Pet Friendly Hotels in Zurich

The hotel's location is excellent, right across the river from the train station, and there's a large supermarket next door. However, the hotel is incredibly noisy. Trams passing by at night shake the whole building, and it doesn't stop until after midnight. During my stay, there was also some construction going on nearby, with loud drilling and banging starting at 9 AM every morning. I was supposed to stay for six days, but I had to switch hotels halfway through.

The biggest highlight of this hotel is its excellent location. Zurich's city center is quite small, perfect for a city walk. It's only a 5-minute walk from Zurich Main Station and a 10-minute walk to Bahnhofstrasse, a street bustling with luxury brands (next to Hermès is the top-rated Zeughauskeller restaurant, I highly recommend their pork knuckle set meal; there's also a LADERACH chocolate shop, their hazelnut chocolate is amazing). Lake Zurich is a 20-minute walk away, and a boat trip is incredibly enjoyable, with the sky and water blending seamlessly, offering natural comfort – 9.2 Swiss Francs for 1.5 hours. Nearby, there are two major Swiss supermarkets, Migros and Coop, making shopping and stocking up very convenient. A bit further away, there's a Lianhua Supermarket offering a full range of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean foods, which is a great relief for those craving Asian cuisine. The hotel rooms are generally very clean, the bathroom is particularly spacious, and the heating is excellent, making for a comfortable stay. The front desk offers complimentary sour green apples every day. The service from the Asian-looking staff was mediocre, but it didn't detract from the overall experience. The overall quality of Swiss people is very high. For example: 1. While navigating to ETH Zurich on the street, my navigation was a bit slow, and as I hesitated, someone immediately came over to ask where I was going and if I needed help. They also told me that ETH is equivalent to MIT in the US. 2. We bought a 24-hour public transport pass (9.4 Swiss Francs, allowing unlimited tram and bus rides within zone 110). Once, when riding a tram, we saw a male passenger running towards it. A female passenger who had just disembarked held the tram door open for him until he got on board.

The people at Arlette Hotel were great! Very friendly and helpful. Zurich is a very expensive city and the Arlette is a very good value. The room (101) was smallish as was the bathroom. But we have come to expect that in the older European hotels. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed after a full day of sightseeing in Zurich and the magnificent Alps. The Arlette is just a short walk away to the bus and train station; and there is a great breakfast spot right next door and good kebab restaurant a few doors down. The gentleman at the desk even allowed us to check in very early after a long redeye flight. That was truly wonderful gesture. It says a lot about how caring the staff is. If we ever return to Zurich, we will be sure to stay here.

We had a pleasant stay at Hotel Marta. The location is excellent — right in the middle of Zurich and close to everything, making it very easy to explore the city. The service was great, especially the lady who assisted us during check-in; she was very nice and friendly, which made us feel welcome. The room itself was clean and simple, though it didn’t have air conditioning. We had to slightly open the window for ventilation, which was manageable. We requested a higher floor, but I think because we also requested two single beds, we were assigned a lower floor instead. Not a big issue, but something to note. Breakfast was very minimal in terms of options. If you have the choice, it might be better to skip the breakfast and try some of the many nearby cafes instead. Overall, Hotel Marta is a good, no-fuss option if you want to stay in a central and convenient location in Zurich with friendly service.

Hygiene • Guest room hygiene: The room is clean and tidy as a whole, bedding, towels, etc. are replaced in time, toiletries are neatly placed, and there is no odor. The toilet, shower room, sink, etc. in the bathroom are very clean, without water stains or stains. • Public area hygiene: The lobby, corridors, restaurants, gyms and other public areas also maintain high standards of hygiene, the floor is clean and bright, the tables and chairs are neatly arranged and dust-free, the trash cans are cleaned in time, and there is no garbage accumulation. Environment • Excellent location: Located in Zurich's City Hall-Hochschulen-Lindenhof City, 1.1 kilometers away from Zurich Steinhofen Railway Station, about 15 minutes' walk, with convenient transportation. • Beautiful surrounding environment: There are many restaurants, bars and attractions around, such as Palavrion Bar, Lindenhofkeller, etc., which are convenient for guests to dine out and play. • Comfortable internal environment: The hotel's interior design is exquisite, and the wooden decoration and stone floor complement each other, exuding a strong Swiss style. The rooms are spacious and bright, all with large windows to enjoy the beautiful scenery around. Service • Front desk service: The front desk staff is warm and friendly, always smiling, and the check-in and check-out procedures are efficient and fast. • Catering service: The restaurant offers a rich variety of Swiss specialties, with fresh ingredients and fine cooking. The waiters are professional and enthusiastic. They will patiently introduce the dishes to the guests and provide thoughtful suggestions based on their personal tastes. In addition, the hotel also provides room service. • Other services: The hotel's concierge service is of guaranteed quality and can provide guests with various assistance, such as taxi services, travel consultation, etc.

The location was very convenient, near a station with many lines. You can't enter from the front of the building, so you have to go around to the back. There are two key boxes lined up, and the key comes out from the one that matches the key code. The key code will be sent to you by email from the hotel immediately after booking, and you can get the key code by entering the necessary information. I read a lot of reviews, so I was pretty prepared, but it was less inconvenient than I thought it would be. The shower had a curtain, so the toilet didn't get flooded. The amenities were a gel that included body soap and shampoo (as is the case everywhere in Switzerland), so if you are concerned about that, I recommend bringing your own body soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The TV didn't turn on. The window didn't close completely, so I blocked it with a weight. The walls are thin enough that you can hear the neighbors walking and the phone ringing, and the building is old. Checking out is also done by putting the key in the box. It feels more like an Airbnb than a hotel. I stayed for one night and checked in late and checked out early, so it didn't bother me too much and I thought it was reasonable considering the price.
