NOR HAZWANI BINTI AZMANStayed at Fairmont Makati for a recent business trip and had a very smooth and comfortable experience overall. The hotel is located in a prime area of Makati, right in the central business district and within walking distance of major malls, restaurants, and offices, which made it extremely convenient for work travel and client meetings.
Check-in was efficient and professional, and the staff throughout the stay were consistently polite and attentive. The room was spacious, well-maintained, and equipped with all the essentials for business travelers, including a comfortable work desk and reliable housekeeping. The bed was especially comfortable, which helped after long working days.
Wi-Fi is generally stable and suitable for work, though in some areas it can feel slightly inconsistent during peak hours. The hotel also offers strong business facilities, including meeting rooms and easy access to transport services like Grab, which made commuting around Makati and to the airport very convenient.
Breakfast offered a good variety, and the dining options within the hotel are solid for both quick meals and more formal business dinners. The lobby and common areas have a calm, professional atmosphere that suits corporate travel well.
Overall, Fairmont Makati is a strong choice for business stays in Manila due to its location, service quality, and comfort, even if pricing is on the higher side compared to other nearby options.
Would definitely consider staying again for future business trips.

Guest UserStayed for one night and genuinely understood why people love The Peninsula.
The room felt incredibly clean and dry — no humid feeling at all. The bed and sheets were extremely comfortable, and even something as simple as taking a bath felt relaxing here. After weeks of stress and moving around, this stay honestly gave me a rare sense of rest.
The atmosphere throughout the hotel was elegant and calm, and everything felt thoughtfully maintained. Definitely one of the most comfortable hotel experiences I’ve had in Manila.

iYooootFor a 5 star hotel, the service is very annoying. They would call me randomly to ask for feedback a few hours after I checked in. They would knock on my door early in the morning while I'm still sleeping to do a ”room check”... On the day of my check out, I had a knock on the door a bit past 9am, I ignored it as I was still in bed but they kept ringing the bell. I finally got up and the lady asked ”is there anything I can help with?”. Yes leave me alone. I went back to bed to rest and then got a phone call soon after as a reminder that check out is at 12pm. It's not even 10am yet and your staff already interrupted my sleep twice. Trying to get the room clean involves multiple phone calls. Once I left it to see how long it would take but at 6pm, I had to call since they never came during the day. Another time they cleaned, the cleaners said they ran out of towels so there would be someone who would deliver soon. I forgot about it until we went to have a shower and then it took almost an hour for the towels to arrive so we had to wait to use the bathroom as they took away the dirty towels so we didn't have anything to dry ourselves. Don't order room service. The food is very bad. I actually gagged on a drink they prepared. The TV is very old, they are still using cable technology. WiFi is patchy. Trying to get up and down the lift is a nightmare if you come at the wrong time as the line gets backed up all the way out into the street. My girlfriend was stopped by over eager security staff when she was trying to leave to buy some snacks as the room service meals were so bad even tho she had a room key and they would not let her up to the lobby on the 6th floor without me. Instead, I had to go down and pick her up from the ground floor where she was sitting in the corner like she was in trouble.

Anonymous UserThe hotel review:
My experience at this Shangri-La property was not as good as others in the region. The building and facilities feel noticeably older, which affects the overall stay.
In the room, the air conditioning was not adjustable. I do appreciate that the team promptly sent a technician to check it, but the unit remained very loud throughout the night, cycling on and off every few minutes, which made it difficult to sleep.
Traveling with another friend, her room also encountered an issue with the bathtub water appearing brown, which technician conclude that is due to sediment buildup.
Overall, I would recommend choosing the Shangri-La in BGC instead, as it offers a better experience.

I am an avid Dusit Thani guest however there is always a problem with housekeeping but they do respond when prompted. But that should actually not be the case that we should always ask.
Service at breakfast is delightful and excellent. We love that!

CLARISSCHASorry i forgot to take a picture inside my room.. but the room is pretty comfortable for 2 person, i booked the twin one. Also there's a refrigerator for store some food/drink, for the amenitites unfortunately there's no toothbrush & toothpaste. Drinks are provide by refill. Glad to stay here because there's so much food & restaurant in this area. I arrived in the morning and they said the room is still full so i can not check in early, but don't worry we still can store our luggage there. Overall i enjoy to stay at Lub D Makati ☺︎

Out of all the hotels we’ve stayed at, this one has the best customer service and the most welcoming staff. The location is good and accessible. This hotel also allow pets to stay. The staff also prepared complimentary cake and simple birthday design inside the room even though I did not request for it. Perfect go-to hotel for fur parents and fur babies who just want to enjoy quality time together. The breakfast inclusion is also delicious. We will rebook again!

The entrance of the hotel is old and the smell of the lobby is bad I believe bc is old .
The staff are always doing a major effort and they’re cleaning all the time .
You cannot feel that smell in your room but you can hear when people are loud from your room .

I have travelled a fair bit and feel that I have a good handle how things are. This hotel has Best Western as part of the name so I expected a certain level. I could see that the hotel was probably a higher end hotel, the lobby showed high end finishes and this was probably a 200+ room hotel when built. It has suffered a fair bit of age related issues and the room finishes are quite tired. I noticed on floor 9, 3 rooms together had obviously been flooded and not repaired. The smell of damaged materials was quite strong (lower parts of the doors were heavily water damaged and there were towels damming the thresholds).
My room on a different floor was fine but I did have multiple legged friends in my room and the sheets were grey from multiple washings and lastly, the area is the seamy side of Makati (Manila) and is not the best.
Okay, that is the list of cons, now for the pros, price was very reasonable, the staff was good in any interactions I had and if you want the seamy side, the location....is excellent. There are lots of bars nearby and multiple actually quite good restaurants including directly across the street, The Filling Station, a throwback to the 1950s us type Diner. Lots of fun and the food is quite good.
I will mention that the gym is quite good and I did use it. The gym Airton has apparently had the refrigerant leaked off so it doesn't work. I was told a lot of the rooms have been sold as condos so I found the hotel to be quiet, good amenities for a good price but it is tired.
Overall I'm going to rate this a high three star hotel because you kind of get something a little bit more for quite a reasonable price so it is a bargain and is not the slum that other cheap hotels often are. Yes, I would definitely stay again.
