GGuest User1) The first thing I would like to note is the location of the hotel. It is really advantageous. The view from the hotel is gorgeous, the sunset is amazing. The territory of the hotel itself is very small, but you can go beyond the territory, there is a very green and cozy area.
2) Beach. The beach is located in a small bay. Very comfortable and uncrowded. The sea here is always shallow, there are often low tides and in order to dive at least waist-deep you have to stomp and stomp. The beach is ideal for a holiday with children, but not for those who like to swim. But lying on the sun loungers here is cool in any case.
3) Service. The service is generally poor. The staff is mostly not very smiling.
4) Rooms. The rooms are simple and tired. Bedside tables from the 90s. I don’t understand why they can’t upgrade! At first we took a standard room, but then we changed it to a room with a sea view and a balcony. It’s 100% worth it. I strongly recommend paying extra, because the sea view is gorgeous, and the balcony is large and it's great to sit there in the evenings! The view of the city will significantly spoil your impressions of the hotel! If you take it without a balcony, then definitely with a sea view!
5) Restaurants. The restaurants are excellent, with a gorgeous view. But very expensive. We were first in a restaurant by the beach for lunch - it was very expensive and not very tasty. All the food was brought cold, and this was in the heat! Then we went to the Italian, very tasty! And in the local, it's nearby, we took a set for two. It turned out to be a bargain, and there was so much food that for 2 adults and one child it was just too much:)
SEPARATE REMARK ON THE RESTAURANT. As far as I found out later, IHG program participants (free registration) are given a discount in restaurants (25 percent). When registering at the hotel, I specifically indicated that I was a member, to which I was told that since the booking was made through a partner, the loyalty program was not involved in any way. As a result, my loyalty program number was not recorded, no one asked in the restaurants, and as a result, I did not receive any discount! This left very unpleasant emotions.
GGuest UserThis was a great hotel APART from the very strong air freshener used inside the rooms, which was so strong I could taste it in my mouth! The kind hotel actually used the ozone machine to suck the air out of a room for me but it hardly made any difference. I stayed over a week and it took about 4 days for the smell to wear off. I would suggest not using such an overpowering smell in the rooms as surely it must be uncomfortable for many guests.
But the food was great, staff were great, rooftop and pool -- I would certainly recommend if you don't mind very intense air freshener!
GGuest UserI would give 10 starts to this hotel if I could. So clean, so new, everything is amazing. Workers are so nice and helpful. Steakhouse at the first floor is a cherry on the top.
Swimming pool and jacuzzi ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
HHans PeterExcellent buffet breakfast. Staff overall very friendly and helpful. Despite the location near the airport, absolutely quiet and without any noise from airport or traffic. Swimming pool in excellent condition. 15 minutes drive to center of Muscat. I highly recommend this hotel.
GGuest UserThis hotel is strategically located close to the Avenues Mall. Attached to this mall (and closest entrance to the hotel) is Lulu Hypermarket -an amazing supermarket with local and international brands, and a fantastic bakery. This mall is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. However, you do have walk along the road as the sidewalk / footpath does not exist. But this is only for 300 metres. In fact you can get off the street, but it is gravel/ construction site, so you shoes will be messy. Uber and Grab do not exist in Oman. However, the hotel has two or three taxi drivers that will you take you anywhere. They use set rates, rather than a meter. For example Hotel to Airport run is 8 is Omani Rial (US $20). While this hotel is great for shopping, it is not the best for major attractions of Muscat. The main historical sites of Alam Palace, Ai Mirania Fort and National Museum is 21 kms from the hotel. About 10 Omani Rial is each way by taxi. However, there are very few hotels in this area, so most people stay in hotels near Malls in Oman. This is some form of Public Transport in Muscat, but it can be hard for tourists to use without changing to another bus or long walks. For example, the Royal Opera House is 10 kms from hotel. By using public transport this would require a 2.5 kms walk. The hotel rooms are quite spacious and feature comfortable lounge style chairs. The hotel is located near an expressway /motorway, but good soundproofing means this is not an issue. I was of level 3 and could just see the ocean in the distance (right) and the mall (to left). They do have ocean view room (more expensive higher up the building). The TV is very disappointing - small & old with fuzzy channels. Fortunately, the internet is great, so viewing most programs on the computer. The rooftop has great swimming pool and bar, but maybe a little too cold to swim with highs of about 22-23 C in winter. Staff at receptionist are very obliging. I can definitely recommend this hotel for shopping and good base to experience Muscat. However, as mentioned, it is long way from the major tourists attraction of the city and taxi is required.
AAnsgarMaseOverall a nice hotel with a nice and decent breakfast buffet, clean rooms, international charging plugs, friendly reception late check in no problems.
They had some renovations ongoing in the hotel that started to be noisy around 9:20am.
But overall good value for money
GGuest UserExcellent location - close to shops, eateries, minutes away from the airport bus. Great pool on the roof top with panoramic views. Breakfast is fine with hot food selections changing from day to day.
The staff, both at the reception and restaurant, was very accommodating and helpful. Thank you!
The room was spacious and the bathroom amenities were acceptable. One suggestion is to retire some of the old towels; some were frayed at the edges.
GGuest UserThe hotel is 7 or 8 minutes walk from Qurum Beach, convenient to see the sea view, but there is no large business super nearby, restaurant. I am a girl, traveling alone, and the stay experience at this hotel is very poor. First of all, the taxi at the entrance of the hotel is the hotel's internal car team. The slaughter of passengers is serious and unreasonable. I took it once. The original fare of 5 rias was charged 10 rias. Finally, I took a more detour. When getting off the bus, the Arab driver shouted at me for 2 more riya, quite rude. When I left, I had to take a taxi to the airport and stopped a taxi at the door, but the uncle of the hotel taxi team called the other taxis and forced my luggage to his own trunk, not saying that they had to take the same price. I was angry, but they were unreasonable, and they argued with each other. I called the manager of the hotel, and the manager looked at it and then stood by! Secondly, during my stay, I was knocked on the door by a local drunk man in the next room. I later learned that this hotel has a bar, and the local wind is not good. I did see some local young ladies in and out of the evening dressed in cool clothes. . . The above wrote his own experience, hope to provide reference for the countrymen.
