The Property & Rooms: Dongshi Inn is a beautiful, rustic gem managed personally by the owner. It features a modern brick building attached to the owner’s traditional house, preserving a wonderful ”old world” charm with its wooden walls. We stayed on the 4th floor (there are only 8 rooms total), and the view was breathtaking—exactly like the photos on Trip.com. The amenities were as clean and complete as a boutique hotel. The Hospitality & Food: Although breakfast wasn’t listed during booking, the owner prepared a fantastic meal for us. We had local mung bean and wheat noodles with preserved vegetables and minced meat. It was honestly tastier than the local street food. She also provided steamed brown bread, eggs, and tea in her own home. Going Above and Beyond: The owner is incredibly helpful. She assisted us with river cruise tickets, booked our transport out of town, and even walked us to the driver on our last day. Most impressively, when we accidentally overpaid at a nearby restaurant, she personally helped us get our money back immediately. One morning, we wanted to buy postcards, but it was early and the bookshop was still closed. The owner personally went to the shop, which belongs to her friend, and opened the doors for us herself so we could browse, then called the shop owner to wake up and come down! This level of care is rare. She also helped us with cruise tickets, transport, and even resolved an overpayment issue at a local restaurant for us instantly. 客栈与客房 东篱客栈（Dongshi Inn）是一家非常美丽、充满古朴韵味的精品民宿，由老板娘亲力亲为管理。建筑巧妙地将现代砖楼与老板原有的木质老宅结合在一起，保留了那种迷人的“旧世界”木质美感。全店只有8间房，每层仅2间。我们住在4楼，窗外的景色美得令人窒息—上预订时看到的照片一模一样。房间里的设施像精品酒店一样齐全且干净。 餐饮与款待 虽然预订时没有包含早餐，但老板娘还是为我们准备了丰盛的餐点。我们品尝了当地的绿豆面和麦面，配上酸菜肉沫，说实话，比外面街上卖的还要好吃。老板娘还在自己家里招待我们，准备了馒头、鸡蛋和热茶。 无微不至的服务 老板娘的热情简直无敌。有一天一早我们想买明信片，但书店还没开门。因为书店老板是她的朋友，老板娘直接过去帮我们开了店门，让我们先进去挑选，然后才打电话叫醒还在楼上睡觉的老板下来！这种关怀真的非常罕见。此外，她还帮我们买游船票、联系出城的车，甚至在最后一天亲自带我们去见司机。最让我们敬佩的是，我们在附近餐厅不小心付多了钱，在她的帮助下，钱立刻就退回给了我们。这里的办事效率极高。 旅行小贴士 龚滩古镇全是高低不平的青石板路。强烈建议不要带大件拉杆箱，背个背包是必须的，因为路面非常不适合轮子滚动。至于洗衣服，这里有洗衣机，我们发现利用空调的制热模式在房间里晾衣服，干得非常快。 总结： 如果再来这里旅行，我们绝对会再次入住。我们会向所有亲朋好友强烈推荐这家完美的宝藏客栈！

Parents and us siblings had a comfortable stay in our tent hotel. We were given rooms close to each other. They even allowed us to check in early for 1 room to accommodate for my mum who isn't well. They are kind to send us to the Visitor Centre and pick us up after we are done seeing the sites. Location was great. Walking distance to food. And we had a good breakfast in the morning.

Traveling to Chongqing with two other families and our kids, booking this three-bedroom apartment was definitely the right choice! The rooms were spotlessly clean, and it came fully equipped with a washing machine, a full-length mirror, and a projector. Each family had their own private space without feeling cramped. We could walk to Jiefangbei and Hongya Cave, and there were tons of local snack shops and restaurants downstairs to choose from. The host was incredibly warm and patient. We all felt so comfortable and at ease during our stay. Highly recommend this for families traveling together!

I must give a massive thumbs-up to this Jiefangbei homestay! 📍 The location is simply unbeatable—just a few steps outside and you're right at Jiefangbei and Bayi Food Street. Getting to Hongyadong and the Yangtze River Cableway is super convenient, making it an absolute game-changer for anyone visiting Chongqing. The room decor is very stylish and great for taking stunning photos 📸. What surprised me the most was the attention to hygiene: the bedding was clean and crisp, the toiletries were of good quality, and it felt very secure and comfortable to stay in. The host/concierge was super prompt in replying to messages and even provided a bunch of insider food and drink guides known only to locals. Looking out at the night view by the window in the evening and feeling the river breeze blew all the fatigue of the day away. I will definitely choose to stay here again next time I'm in Chongqing, and I highly recommend it to everyone! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Top-notch view! ✨ Just checked out and I have to rave about this amazing guesthouse! The location is incredible, only a five-minute walk to the beach. Evening strolls watching the sunset were so therapeutic. The room was clean and cozy, and the smart home features were super convenient to use. The floor-to-ceiling windows framed the entire sea view perfectly, and waking up to the sun in the morning was pure bliss~ The owner even thoughtfully prepared local snacks and a travel guide. The value for money is absolutely fantastic, I'll definitely stay here again next time! 👍

Booked this hotel for the loft room type which has only 1 unit. Note that there are only 14 rooms across 2 floors located in a commercial building. Seems like it is very common in cq to have such hotels which are occupying floors in a building. The room has a great view of Jiefangbei and you can see the monument from the room. Pls note that the location of the room is just next to the entrance which i didn't like (personal preference) but it didn't affect me in terms of noise. Smart system, tv projector The room is using a smart system which you can control through voice. However this proved to be a problem for me instead as everytime I returned and put in the key card, the same settings operate e.g. music automatically plays and the announcement starts and I have to ask it to stop playing the music. The lighting is also preset with hindered the brightness of the projector. Note that there is no tv, only a projector with iqiyi inbuilt so there are no tv channels and most of the shows require a subscription to play. I wasn't able to adjust the lights according to what I want. So if I wanted a very clear resolution, I had to turn off all lights. Bathroom The toilet seat was automatic with bidet. As it is automated, you have to press a button to open the seat cover everytime you want to use. If you use the disposable seat cover, it cannot detect you and halfway using the toilet, the seat keeps coming down to close as it closes automatically. The position of the handheld shower is also very low. I'm 1.68m tall which was the perfect height but anyone taller will hit the shower. One very important point to note is also that the hotel only uses disposable towels to my dismay. They do not have regular towels. If I had known I wouldn't have booked this hotel. I'm not sure if this is a common thing in cq. There are also no hooks in the bathroom and the sink is outside the bathroom. During my stay it rained a bit so the area just beside the bed had a pool of water which likely came from a leak in the building. For this room, the electronic curtains were also unable to cover the room totally due to the stairs going up to the bed. Aircon Due to the size of the room, I felt that the ac wasn't strong enough to cool the room totally. In conclusion, the hotel has a great location and good service but if I had known the above, I would hv chosen another regular hotel with tv, regular towels etc. I wanted to check out after 1 night but didn't as it was just simply too troublesome and my booking was non refundable.

The price is very high. I originally booked a 3-person room with Trip.com. I went to check in at 1 pm. I upgraded to a 4-person room for free. The computer configuration is high. The chicken alliance is not stuck at all. The sanitation is good. The main thing is the floor-to-ceiling windows. A few friends open the black quack together. Happy 🎉, There are snacks, drinks and drinks in the room, and the deposit is deducted.

The restaurant photos were taken by a friend, so unfortunately I didn't get to try the breakfast. The check-in and other services were quite good, and the front desk staff were patient and welcoming. It was my first time staying in this area; the good thing is that hotels are clustered together. The nearby shopping district is a bit deserted and desolate, but there are still a few convenience stores and restaurants left, which is more than enough for anyone catching a flight. The airport shuttle service is practical, and I'm sure most people choose this hotel for that reason. The room amenities are quite complete and standard, and the quality matches the price. The minor flaws are: there was a smell of cigarette smoke in the elevator going up, and the hotel felt a bit stuffy—at least in my room, I had to turn on the air conditioning. The carpet around the bed area is completely useless; it looks dark and dirty, and seems like a trap for dust and grime. Soundproofing is average; it's really the luck of the draw depending on whether the guests in the hallway and next door are noisy—if not, I wish you a good night's sleep. It's very close to Terminal 3, about 15-20 minutes away, which is very convenient. Good value for money.

The property could benefit from some updates and maintenance. One of the queen bedrooms was converted from a balcony, making it extremely cold during winter. Additionally, the heater in one of the rooms next to the hall was not working, which made it very uncomfortable to sleep through the night. The bathroom in one of the rooms remained choked throughout our stay, and overall, the bathrooms were not thoroughly cleaned. The kitchen also lacked proper cleanliness, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the view from the hall was decent, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to make up for the shortcomings in comfort and cleanliness.

”I’ve seen comments saying that the cheaper single rooms in China tend to reek of cigarette smoke, but thankfully this hotel had no tobacco smell at all—that was a plus. That said, it didn’t feel as clean as the reviews suggested. Still, the owner was friendly, so I’d say it’s fine overall.”
