"It's a decent hotel. Simple and inexpensive, but it has all the basic necessities. It's very close to the border and next to a street with plenty of restaurants. The only problem I see is for people who aren't in good physical condition or elderly people, as it doesn't have an elevator and has six floors. This wasn't a problem for us, but it might be a good indicator for others."

The temperature was adjusted, but it suddenly turned cold while I was taking a shower. No matter how I adjusted it, it was either very cold or very hot."

"It is a commercial and residential building with local owners and other hotels. There are parking lots - 1, 4F, and 5F (cars go up by the elevator). Parking is free at the hotel, next to the entry and exit port. The room is in a water-style style. Since the water vapor cannot escape, there will be a musty smell when you first enter the door. It is okay to open the windows to let down the wind. Affected by water vapor, floors and wall panels were severely damaged. The electric water heater used has insufficient water pressure during peak water use periods. Overall, except for the outdated facilities, everything else is fine. I wanted to experience this style, so I stayed at this hotel. The picture is not of a twin room, but basically similar."

GGuest UserBetter late than never for this review! This hotel near the border crossing is a hidden gem! The French Indochinese style is incredibly photogenic!
The location is absolutely perfect. You can walk to Hekou Port, and it's super convenient to get to the China-Vietnam Bridge and Vietnam Street. Plus, there's free parking if you're driving. The bright yellow French-style building is so unique, and the vintage details in the lobby and rooms are perfectly executed. The black and white patterned tiles and louvered wooden cabinets create an amazing ambiance that's fantastic for photos. The room was clean and tidy, with soft lighting, making for a very comfortable stay. The manager's service was also very thoughtful. Overall, the experience far exceeded my expectations. This is my top recommendation for Hekou!

GGuest UserThe hygiene, service, decor, software and hardware facilities, and toiletries were all excellent 👍. Plus, the free pick-up service was a nice touch. I think they've really put a lot of effort into doing things well.
Now, about breakfast. There weren't many vegetable options to begin with, but this morning, I arrived at the restaurant at 9:15 AM and most of the stir-fries were already gone. A staff member walked by the congee section at least three times. I waited 30 minutes, and it was almost 10:00 AM, but no one refilled the dishes. At least when it comes to vegetables, they could offer more. I understand they might be trying to control costs and avoid waste if there aren't many guests, but it wouldn't hurt to add one or two more vegetable dishes, or at least proactively ask guests if they'd like more. I don't think that's unreasonable. I hope the hotel's business flourishes. Regarding breakfast, they could learn from some smaller, well-run B&Bs and chain hotels to improve in this area without causing waste. Since the hotel is ranked as a high-end establishment on various platforms, it should really live up to that name.

Convenient location not far from the border with Vietnam and very short drive away from the main bus station. There are many shops, restaurants, big supermarket, park and a lovely river promenade all around the hotel.
Excellent efficient staff. The young lady at the desk answered all my questions, helped with directions, transport and even explained to the taxi driver where to take me. For me as a foreigner just having arrived to a new country, that service alone deserves the highest rating. Thank you!

XXiaogegewslLocation and Transportation: The hotel is located in the heart of the estuary, and the surrounding traffic is very convenient. It is only a few minutes' walk from the bus stop, which is very convenient for both local popular attractions and shopping in the business district. For self-driving friends, the hotel provides ample free parking spaces, which solves the problem of parking difficulties.
Room facilities: The room layout is reasonable and the space is spacious and bright. The bedding is soft and comfortable, and the mattress is moderately elastic, so that I can get a full rest after a busy day. The bathroom is clean and tidy, and the quality of toiletries is also good. In addition, the room is equipped with smart TV, high-speed wireless network and other facilities, which meet my needs in terms of work and entertainment.
Service quality: The hotel's service is first class. From check-in to check-out, every link made me feel the enthusiasm and professionalism of the staff. The front desk staff patiently answered my various questions and provided detailed travel advice;
Dining: The girl who cooks rice noodles is too fierce
Cost-effective: Considering the location, facilities, services and prices of the hotel, I think the price-performance ratio of the Pastoral Select Hotel is very high. Compared with other hotels at the same price, it performs well in all aspects and is an ideal choice for business trips and travel.
