GGuest UserLet me start with the conclusion: staying here was the best decision I made in Saihu Scenic Area! I chose this place to see the stars, watch the sunrise, eat delicious food, drink milk tea, encounter various small animals, and experience the local culture. Luckily, all of this happened! For stargazing, this place is a must-see. My main goal this time was to see the Milky Way and a sea of stars. First, I compared it with nearby campsites and hotels outside the east gate. The light pollution here is relatively low, 2.7 on the astronomical map, meaning the Milky Way is clearly visible, and as long as there are no clouds, the stars are visible. See Figures 2 and 3, which I took with my iPhone. As for the B&B itself, overall, it was clean and comfortable beyond my expectations. The concrete room is where we live, and the two yurts are where we eat and chat. The rooms have electric heaters, which provide continuous heating throughout the night, and they also have electricity. Regarding the restrooms, which many women worry about, they are dry toilets, but they are concrete and very clean! P.S. If you choose a yurt, you'll definitely need dry toilets, so be prepared for that. Saihu can get very cold outside in autumn and winter, so bring plenty of clothes. The view from the B&B, facing Saihu and surrounded by snow-capped mountains on three sides (in autumn and winter), is absolutely stunning. The absence of clouds allowed for stunning starry skies, sunrises, and sunsets. The lamb we ordered was incredibly delicious, with no mutton smell and a very fragrant aroma! Breakfast and milk tea were also delicious! The B&B owners were incredibly warm and welcoming, with high emotional intelligence, talented dancers, and attentive to their guests. They made us feel safe and secure, making it a great place for women to stay! The owners even picked us up and dropped us off at the nearby shuttle bus stop. As for the pets, we currently have a cute kitten with a great personality. We encountered flocks of sheep, horses, and eagles along the way. Great! I'll be back next time, hahahahahaha!

AAnonymous UserThe location of the hotel is convenient, and the room environment and hygiene are OK. The room facilities, especially the desk lamps, are scary. The desk lamp was unstable and the lampshade broke when it touched the wall, and I almost got injured. I called the service staff to handle it, and found out that this desk lamp had this problem many times. The cleaners and equipment maintenance staff said that it had been replaced many times. I told the front desk, and the front desk also sent me a message saying that someone had broken the desk lamp cover before and they had to pay 120 yuan in compensation. This is the first bad review. When the lamp has this problem, they don't even think it's an unsafe facility and don't replace it to eliminate the safety hazard. Money is a small matter, but isn’t safety important?

Electric vehicle owners will also appreciate the nearby charging stations. Dining options nearby were very convenient. AAnonymous UserThe hotel's exterior looks great, and the front desk even thoughtfully upgraded my room. They said they'd move me to their main building, which I was initially happy about. But it turned out to be worse than not upgrading at all. After showering, it was freezing. Why? Because the water was cold. Then I tried to turn on the air conditioning but couldn't find the remote. When I asked the front desk, they said it's centrally controlled and they adjust the temperature... Also, the hygiene wasn't good. When I went to take a shower, the entire bathroom wall was covered with scattered long hairs stuck to it... Luckily, I only stayed one night and left early the next morning. The breakfast, however, was good.

GGuest UserIt is just a 1-minute drive from the ticket office at the entrance of the scenic spot, which is very convenient. The hotel is newly renovated. Although there are other hotels around that are under renovation, it does not affect our rest. The room was very clean and the bedding was very comfortable. We were four girls and lived in a triple room which was very spacious and one bed was enough for two people. Very cost-effective. The boss was very welcoming. He helped us with our luggage and gave us many instructions. He even invited us to have dinner as we arrived too late. Unfortunately, we didn't have the chance to enjoy it because we went to take pictures of the sunset. If you are driving, please navigate to the People’s Hospital which is closer to his home! We put our luggage on the bed before taking the photo, so please take a look at the photos.

AAnonymous UserThe family who run the B&B are very kind, friendly, and down-to-earth. In the evening, the owner came down to pick us up, and along the way, we even encountered a flock of sheep returning home. Xinjiang has a wide temperature swing, and it can be quite cold at night. When we arrived, the yurt was already warm with a charcoal fire. Ask the aunt if you'd like some home-cooked meals or kebabs. The lamb skewers are tender and flavorful, not at all smelly, truly unlike what you'd find in the city!
The bedding is provided with disposable sheets, which felt hygienic and warm. There are also solar panels for charging our phones.
The vast starry sky at night and the tranquility and elegance of Sayram Lake are a stark contrast to the daytime scenery, offering a truly precious escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Though noise is a concern, bring earplugs. The children in the neighboring yurt were so excited they were up early to play, so we woke up early to watch the beautiful sunrise over Sayram Lake. Thank you to the host family for their warm hospitality. We were able to experience the life of herders, the joy of chasing sheep, and the opportunity to gallop on horseback. It was such a great experience on my first trip to Xinjiang. I hope to come back again if I have the chance.

GGuest UserIts biggest advantage is its close proximity to the East Gate of Sayram Lake. The complimentary breakfast was decent, parking was also very convenient, and the location was relatively quiet. However, the room seemed to have been recently renovated, but the facilities were not quite complete. For instance, the hot water for the shower required a 30-minute wait before another person could use it. Furthermore, the room only had one chair, the bathroom lacked hooks or shelves for clothing, the partition between the toilet and shower was loose and not securely installed, the showerhead couldn't be fixed in place and just dangled, and there wasn't even a comb provided. Overall, its convenience to the scenic area is undeniable, but considering the off-peak price, the value for money was only average.

SShirley922I still want to experience the yurt when I come to Xinjiang. I am prepared for the psychological expectation that I can't take a shower or use a dry toilet. After I arrived, I felt that the experience was quite good.
First of all, I want to praise the service. The boss and his mother grilled the charcoal fire in advance before we arrived, and it was very warm when we entered the room. The thoughtfulness is 100 points. Then there will be spare charcoal fires to replenish in the middle of the night.
The stove in the room can also cook. We bought some meat ourselves. The boss also helped to set up a small charcoal grill at the door. Looking at the stars in the sky and blowing the wind to grill meat, the experience dared to raise it to a higher level.
It is worth mentioning that their house is so close to the lake. At night, the boss told us the sunrise time in advance, and we also checked the phone to confirm. There is a small hill behind the yurt. The view for taking pictures is amazing. There are small ravines on both sides. If I have the opportunity next spring, I will come again. I hope to see the lambs hahaha!
