Edinburgh Hostels

We stayed twice at the Riccarton Inn. It's traditional with a pub up front and rooms at the back. Very clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. This is not a hotel chain but an individual inn. The rooms are not new, nor full of modern amenities as some would require. The mattress was creeky. Nevertheless, if you want a truly Scottish experience full of authentic ambiance, you cannot beat Riccarton. We ate breakfast and dinner in the inn and found them delicious. Had to hop on a couple of buses to get there from the airport, but that was part of the fun!

Another night staying at this hostel. We stayed in a six-person female dorm. Except that the drainage is quite bad at the shower room, and the bunk bed is noisy when i move, everything is good and clean. A good choice for budget traveller!

The room was very clean, but we had to share the bathrooms with some really messy people who left everything disgusting. Though, I have to admit, the staff cleaned it up super fast. The shower doors weren't very secure; they'd open with just a touch, and there wasn't much privacy, especially considering it was a mixed-gender bathroom. On the bright side, the water was very hot, and there was heating in the room, so we weren't cold. It's worth noting that we were in the pub area, so there was a fair bit of noise and music at night, but it didn't bother us too much. We did miss having a kitchen, like some other hostels provide.

This is a very interesting hotel in a converted church, the staff are very nice, friendly and attentive. Because it is a historical building, there is no way to remodel it. The rooms are still relatively large. There are collective kitchens, movie rooms, and few single rooms, so it is more convenient to wash in the public bathroom. It's still fun to feel the unique atmosphere.

This hostel truly feels like a home away from home. The environment is clean and comfortable, the common areas are cozy and well-designed, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic, always patiently offering travel advice, which made my trip much smoother. The location is convenient and the atmosphere is friendly, making it perfect for backpackers to meet new friends. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit.

剛好碰上愛丁堡舉行藝術節，酒店價格飆升，衹好退而求其次，訂了城郊的這個學生宿舍。中文翻譯是“愛丁堡大學宿舍”，但其實衹是愛丁堡學院Edinburgh college的學生宿舍，並不是著名的愛丁堡大學university of Edinburgh 缺點：就宿舍本身來説，真是一言難盡。房間連浴室估計不超過十平米，一張靠牆的1.2米床，房間裏噴灑了濃郁刺鼻香味的空氣“清新”劑，窗户衹能打開一點點，薰得人頭腦發昏。浴室衹有個頭頂噴淋頭，沒有能拿着的花灑頭，水又噴得很分散，洗澡是件艱難的事情。 宿舍裏安裝了很多扇防煙門，裏面各房間象迷宮一樣，剛開始容易迷路 優點：幾個房間劃成一個區域，例如18區，裏面有公共廚房，餐具、廚具、冰箱、桌椅、微波爐、電瓷爐甚至烤爐一應具全。宿舍後面有個大超市，可以買東西自己做來吃。 宿舍附近有個小海灘和綠道Granton Beach，步行過去十分鐘左右。愛丁堡夏天涼快清爽，天氣晴朗海邊景色美好，人也不多，散步很舒服。有些當地人沿着海邊綠道騎行或溜狗。 宿舍門口有不少巴士，進城比較方便，到市中心王子街花園大概半個來小時
