Embrace | Where the Landscape Breathes
Amidst the shimmering waves and mist-clad peaks of Qiandao Lake, Embrace rises like a natural outgrowth of the land—a sanctuary shaped by the poetry of its surroundings. Embracing the concept of “disappearing into the waters, with every ripple holding a universe,” this destination retreat embodies a profound dialogue between architecture, nature, and soul.
With a total investment of over RMB 50 million, Embrace is conceived around a core mission: redefining the intrinsic connection between people and all living things. It is more than a place to stay—it is an active exploration of how humans can coexist in harmony with nature.
Intimacy in Scale, Presence in Service
Designed with only 21 guest rooms, Embrace ensures a deeply personal and private experience, offering attentive service within an unhurried, natural setting.
Architecture as a Gentle Gesture
The design reflects a philosophy of humble coexistence. Rather than imposing on the lake and mountains, Embrace lets the landscape lead. A winding path through tea terraces sets the tone—a quiet prelude that gradually opens to sweeping views of water and sky.
Boundaries dissolve throughout the space: a living moss wall in the lobby, floor-to-ceiling windows in each room, the semi-open Gǔ Restaurant, a lakeside gym, and a tranquil tea room inspired by Chinese aesthetics—all frame nature as the true protagonist.
Living Frames, Flowing Moments
Each space—from the meeting room and media lounge to the Song Shen private dining area and the Fish Belly Bar—offers a curated view of the surroundings, drawing the rhythm of daylight and seasons into the daily experience.
From the Lake to the Land
The private Sushu Dock invites exploration by water, while the organic farm and orchard supply fresh, zero-mile ingredients straight to the table. Behind the property, a cherry blossom lane and bamboo forest path offer serene trails for wandering and wonder.
A Journey Back to Balance
Tucked within the timeless landscape of Qiandao Lake, Embrace welcomes those in search of stillness and reconnection. Here, the brand promise becomes tangible: space is not a container, but a medium—guiding you to observe the light, feel the breeze, and listen to the water.
With every step, the view shifts; with every moment, the dialogue with nature deepens. Embrace embodies an Eastern vision of ideal dwelling: a landscape to behold, a journey to wander, a home in which to belong.
"This butler-style hotel opened in the first half of this year, with over 20 rooms. Phase 2 is under development, and the rooms and public areas are very new. There are no other businesses nearby. While you can't order milk tea, the mini bar has a wide selection of drinks. Fresh fruit is available in the public areas, and goodnight soup is served in the evening. The hotel is very quiet, perfect for a relaxing vacation or a family adventure. We chose a room with a large terrace with our children, just for the moment we opened the curtains each morning, and it proved to be a great choice. That evening, the butler took us to the back mountain to see the piglets (they've grown into adults). Along the way, he introduced us to wild bayberries, chili peppers, eggplants, and Litsea cubeba. The children loved it and suggested we visit again in March or April to try picking them.
The hotel also has two on-site restaurants. The Fish Maw breakfast restaurant offers a buffet, main courses, and freshly ground coffee. The main courses change daily, so you don't have to worry about getting tired of them during consecutive stays. We had lunch and dinner at Gutai Restaurant, and ordered meals through the WeChat group and the butler. If you want to try Qiandao Lake Couchfish, you must make a reservation one day in advance because it is limited in supply and I didn’t get to try it. I recommend the baked pumpkin with mayonnaise, the braised pork with quinoa, and the homemade sauerkraut and fried pork intestines."
