Inns in Nantou

Stayed here to acclimatize a bit for a later hike. Bused from Taichung and was relatively convenient although I think most people came by car. I had an amazing view from my room and it was clean / tidy. The cat is quite friendly for a cat. Breakfast was simple and light — was quite jet lagged so I appreciated it.

This hotel is very new and the owner is very friendly. The room is very clean. The only drawback is that you can't see the Sun Moon Lake. But most of the hotels here can't see the Sun Moon Lake. It is close to the shopping street, very convenient. The breakfast is simple but very delicious, and it is the vegetarian food I like.

The hotel is ok but the room is big. The restaurant in the hotel is a must try. My daughter LOVEs every dishes she ordered. She said, this is the best food she had in Taiwan, so we had two dinners at the hotel. The location of the hotel is not great! We couldn’t get into the local buses to go to Xitou nor to Taichung because the buses were full from the original starting point. However, the hotel offers fare shuttle service to and from Xitou but not Shanlinxi. The front desk lady drove us to Xitou, she was GREAT and very accommodating, she took us to Xitou bus station outside of the normal schedule hours so we can catch the bus back to Taichung. We would come back again with our car to get to different areas in Xitou again.

The views from the window overlooking Puli town and the mountains are incredibly open and expansive. Getting around is easy as there's a bus station right downstairs with routes to Taichung and Sun Moon Lake. Buses from Taichung to Sun Moon Lake are always packed, but if you go from Taichung to Puli first, and then from Puli to Sun Moon Lake, you'll always get a seat. That's why I chose to stay in Puli for my trip to Sun Moon Lake this time, plus it's cheaper than staying right next to Sun Moon Lake. It's also not far to walk to Puli Night Market or other eateries in town. The room was clean and tidy, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall environment was excellent. The soundproofing was great too, I had a really good night's sleep.

Great location right by the pier, with easy access to restaurants and shops. If you get a lake view room, the sunrise is amazing and the value for money is pretty good. The only downside was that a neighbor on their balcony was smoking, and the smell was hard to avoid. Parking is available at the nearby Zhongxing connected lot, which isn't too far of a walk.

Extremely satisfied! When we checked in, a staff member escorted us to our room and made sure everything was okay before leaving. The service was excellent; the front desk staff were very friendly and recommended a great package tour itinerary. Finally, I have to mention the room – we were upgraded to a lake view room, and the view was absolutely stunning.

Excellent location! If you take bus to SML, this hotel is just about 200m from the bus stop. Just a few next doors at the left side, you can find cheap and delicious local breakfast. Just about 100m, there's Shuishe pier where you can take boat to Ita Thao. There's a restaurant below the hotel, so the check in procedure was done in the restaurant. The boss is really a super nice person. He upgraded our room and even let us choose one between two rooms he offered us. He gave us 2 room keys and asked us to look at the rooms ourselves and choose one. The experience that I never had before:) The room was big, clean and had everything that we needed.

We stayed one night at the Monster Village. There were shops and food stalls around the hotel rooms. The rooms were clean and we had a balcony on the second floor overseeing the village street. Our room booking included breakfast buffet 7 am - 9 am, typical ********* breakfast items like porridge and noodles. There were multiple live performances which was pretty entertaining, but most of the activities are geared towards younger kids my tweenagers. There is a specialty Nettles bread that everyone waited in line for a fresh batch. Overall it was a fun experience and good photo spot!

The hotel offers good value for money. Many of the guests stay here with big bus groups. There is an interesting view from the top floor. Rooms are spacious and bathrooms functional. It is important to note that it is quite dated and has some classical decor. It is very well located near many businesses and restaurants. Also nearby is a very practical launderette where you can wash and dry in one cycle. 7 eleven is also nearby. In the hotel you can enjoy breakfast which has plenty of choices for anyone. Protip: hotel has parking with sirect access to rooms. There are 4 elevators which get busy, look for a small hallway between elevators to find another much less used elevator for speed.

The hotel is considerably cheaper than others in the area with similar-looking rooms and it is brilliantly-located right at the lakefront and only 2 minutes away from the bus terminal. The staff is very friendly and you even get a discount voucher for the nearby bike rental. I booked a room without a window and got one with two windows which is absolutely appreciated. I even had a very large bathroom with a gorgeous and huge bathtub which was an unexpected luxury. Overall the room is clean and comfortable. The AC works perfectly, the bed is comfortable enough for a few days, and the the linen and towels were fresh. The interior is dated which didn't bother me me much because it was still as clean as dated interior can get and therefore definitely clean enough for me and for most travellers. I actually kinda liked the old charme. The walls are thin, though it doesn't matter so much because there aren't many rooms per floor. The breakfast was surprisingly nice and located in another hotel right at the lakefront so that you have stunning views!
