An unexpectedly amazing stay! I booked two nights, and on the first night, our driver suddenly couldn't drive us. The owner, upon hearing this, was incredibly thoughtful and personally drove me to pick up my friend, who was staying at the end of the village, so we could all play with the hotel's snow tubes. He even took us to a secret spot to sled down a snowy slope and stargaze. After playing, when we got back, he specially prepared warm roasted sweet potatoes for me and even for my friends who weren't staying at the hotel! He was worried that my friend wouldn't have an easy way back to their guesthouse at night, so he even drove them there. Every day, he'd bring us tons of special snacks (even for my friends!). The guesthouse itself is newly renovated and is the first one at the new village entrance. The appliances are well-equipped (including an automatic heated toilet and a washing machine). On check-in day, the owner thoughtfully explained how everything worked. You can see beautiful sunsets right from your room, and from the courtyard, you can spot the distant Guan Yu Tai (Fish Watching Platform). On check-out day, we left too early and missed the roasted sweet potatoes the owner had specially prepared, haha. I'll definitely stay here again if I get the chance! I hope to see the owner's cute dog next time!

Posted on Oct 11, 2025|Ansheng Villa - Standalone Family Room
Guest UserEnvironment:
You absolutely have to book a stay in the old village, as it's much more convenient. The new village is also a B&B right next to each other, but it's not as convenient. I originally wanted to book a stay in Yijing, but because I booked too late and there weren't enough rooms, I gave up. After comparing Yijing and Wushangyin, I ultimately chose Wushangyin. My stay confirmed my decision!
Location:
The location is quite convenient, within walking distance of the food court, though there isn't much good food there. You can take bus No. 2 or No. 3, which is two stops to Qiaotou Station, which is a ten-minute walk. Qiaotou Station is the central business district of Hemu Village, and KFC is right there.
Facilities:
Ansheng Villa and Wushangyin are located in separate courtyards, about 100 meters apart. The owner said Ansheng Villa only has four rooms. Surrounded by neatly arranged B&Bs, the view isn't very wide, but after a day of snow, the first clear day offered a beautiful view from the window. The interior is well-appointed, and the doors and windows are of excellent quality. There's also a slight foul smell from the sewers, which seems to be a common problem in Kanas and Hemu. We booked two rooms, a single-family room and a suite, located next door. The single-family room was larger and had a bathtub, but I doubt the electric water heater would have been able to handle the water usage. The suite was smaller, but had the advantage of a spacious shared living room. There was also a washing machine in the common area. During the snowy weather, which made it difficult to go out, I did a load of laundry. Although there wasn't a dryer, Xinjiang is even drier than Beijing, and even my fleece clothes dried in the underfloor heating.
Dining:
Breakfast was at Yinshi Fuguang Restaurant. It was quite crowded during the National Day holiday, so the food was average. The buffet was closed the next day, so we had tomato and egg noodles and beef noodles. They were better than the buffet and warm and comfortable. Yinshi Restaurant's main course was also good, with reasonably priced home-style dishes.

Just got back from Kanas and I absolutely *have* to recommend this guesthouse hidden in the old village to everyone!
❄️ **The location truly can't be beaten**
It's in the most convenient spot in the old village, a 5-minute walk to the Three Bays boardwalk and 10 minutes to the lakeside.
No need to wake up early to rush for the shuttle bus; while others are shivering cold waiting for a ride, I'm already in my room sipping hot coffee, watching the morning mist gradually envelop the snow-capped mountains 📸. After exploring the old village's wooden cabins in the evening, it's just a short stroll back to the guesthouse, no need to endure the cold wind at all.
❄️ **The room's floor-to-ceiling window faces the mountain view directly.** In the daytime, sunlight streams in, and I just curl up on the sofa watching the snow, feeling completely relaxed and unhurried.
❄️ **The floor heating is incredible!** After a full day of shooting photos outside and getting frozen, stepping inside instantly rejuvenates me. It's not cold even wearing just a single layer.
❄️ **Smart toilet + super clean bedding.** The advantage of being newly opened in 2024 is so obvious; there's none of that musty smell you often find in older guesthouses.
📍 **Name: Pengyou Jianshanhai Guesthouse (Kanas Old Village Store)**

Place is reasonably clean with friendly staff. Hotel is near the bus terminal and not too far from the various attractions around the city. Room heating is a bit weak as it uses a dual purpose heater/air conditioner. The water heater looks very high tech.

Xinita16The B&B is conveniently located right at Meili Peak station. It has a huge, beautifully decorated yard with two adorable corgis and a cute blue cat that run right up to you when called. The cleanliness and service are impeccable and they're always ready to help. Highly recommend! 🎊

I arrived a bit late and was worried I wouldn't be able to enter the scenic area. I called the front desk several times, and they all reassured me that everything would be fine, without any hint of impatience. The young ladies at the front desk had excellent service attitudes, and the room was exceptionally clean. I was really surprised to find such a clean hotel inside a scenic area, and it even has an elevator – a truly pleasant surprise! It's very suitable for families with children and elderly people. If I come to Hemu again in the future, I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends.

Guest UserOur stay in the deluxe king room at Hemu Qinghuan Guesthouse was absolutely fantastic! The wooden wabi-sabi style was cozy and elegant, and the room was spacious. The pressure-free mattress made for a very comfortable sleep. The smart room controls, separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom, smart toilet, and bathtub were all top-notch and impeccably clean. The location is superb, just a few minutes' walk to Hemu Bridge and the food street. We had stunning views of snow-capped mountains and green fields right from our window. The service was attentive, and the breakfast was delicious. It's truly the ideal choice for accommodation in Hemu.

Guest UserThe hygiene and environment are great, full marks. It's also very close to the visitor center, less than 4 kilometers away. The only downside is the lack of charging piles. Friends with charging needs should be cautious when booking (many hotels here have charging piles, which you can usually find online, but they are often reserved for guests of that specific hotel). Although there's a bus stop right next to the hotel where you can take a free shuttle to the visitor center, the services are infrequent, so self-driving is still recommended.

The room was clean and tidy with good natural light and ventilation, keeping the air fresh. The soundproofing was excellent, and the bedding was comfortable. All the facilities were quite new and worked perfectly. Its close proximity to the scenic area made our trip very convenient, enjoyable, and relaxing.
