This may be my favorurite hotel of all my travels so far. It’s set in an authentic Qing Dynasty building in a beautiful, quiet village. In the evening, the hostess picked us up at the village gate with a lantern, and when we arrived there was tea and a fireplace waiting in the lobby.
The rooms are beautifully designed, and the hotel is full of cozy sitting areas, tea tables, and small corners to relax, you really feel immersed in old China. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, as were their house-distilled rice wines.
The next morning, the hostess gave us a guided walk through the village and then arranged a driver who turned out to be more of a guide. He took us to several villages and stunning viewpoints for the rest of the day and again the following morning.
January is a wonderful time to visit if you come well before Chinese New Year: the area is very quiet, and you get a real sense of everyday local life. It is cold, so dress warmly. The rooms have heaters and heated blankets, but the other areas of the hotel—and in the villages themselves—are unheated.
We will definitely come back.

i would give this stay 11/10 if i could! our hosts were beyond lovely, hospitable, and generous. they upgraded our room for free as we visited during off-peak season, and offered many local recommendations that we thoroughly enjoyed. they were always contactable and happy to assist us when we needed help with hiring a driver and amenities.
our room was gorgeous and had everything we needed, the shower’s water pressure was fantastic, and we adored our balcony and the carefully tended garden. we even saw a bird nest and cute birds on our second day!
their home-cooked breakfast is comforting and hearty, featuring many local delicacies. on the last day, our host even cooked us her signature mini wantons!!
thank you Huiyuge for our perfect stay in Wuyuan! we will certainly be back to visit during flower season in spring :)

I packed my bag and set off on a whim. Spring was in full bloom, and I arrived in Wuyuan, Jiangxi. I'd stumbled upon this guesthouse on the train and booked it. The owner was very honest and arranged a shared bus ride for me. Once in the village, a tricycle took me to the hotel. What greeted me was a charming wooden country villa, a clean lobby and rooms. In the courtyard, I chatted and swung with guests from Tianjin – it was incredibly pleasant. Traveling alone can be a little lonely, so the owner's wife cooked me a small meal: stir-fried bok choy and braised pork with dried bamboo shoots – both delicious! It felt like returning to a relative's hometown, so warm and welcoming. The owner helped me plan my next two days' itinerary, recommended by the driver. My trip ended happily. The hotel was a six-minute walk from the mountaintop, so I didn't need to buy a cable car ticket. I could leisurely explore and avoid the crowds at the foot of the mountain – perfect!

This guesthouse is simply a tranquil oasis, perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of city life! The room is tastefully decorated, combining elegance with a homey feel. The soft lighting cast over the plush bed, each ray perfectly creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, just like home! It truly evokes the charm of a riverside village scene.

This treasure homestay is hidden in the deep alleys of the village, and also between the mountains and rivers...
Because it was raining, I was lucky enough to experience the simple version of ”Huolala” to check in🏨 It was really fun
🏨There are only 8⃣️ rooms. I booked a courtyard suite. The room is very large and has a small split level. The room is equipped with Boss speakers, hand-cranked coffee machines☕️, floor heating, electric curtains, automatic bathrooms, and full of modernity... The 2-meter bed is facing a whole wall of floor-to-ceiling doors and windows, and you can see the beautiful scenery of the courtyard. Drinking coffee, reading books, listening to music, and having a dog by your side is really comfortable ❤️ The hotel is very soundproof and private👍
Booked lunch at the homestay, which was made by a Sichuan chef. There is no menu, and the fixed per capita💰168¥ Matsutake chicken soup is delicious. I drank half a bowl by myself😘Matsutake shrimp paste is also delicious! The craftsmanship is good, I like it 💕
The weather has been bad these two days, so I plan to rest here. The laundry room is well equipped with supplies, so I wash all the dirty clothes before leaving🚗 (very pleasantly surprised: there is also a clothes drying rack in the room)
The owner of the B&B has a Samoyed 🐶 very cute❤️

Absolutely recommend Mingxun Tang -- the hotel is nestled in the heart of Yan Cun, one of the smaller, delightful, history-rich and less touristy of the Wuyuan villages. The location is a very convenient point from which to do day trips around the scenic spots in Wuyuan. The hotel is in a beautifully reformed old house -- it has a lovely garden and keeps parts of the original structure, as well as some memorabilia from its previous iteration such as receipts from the late Qing Dynasty! The rooms are lovely and well-equipped with all amenities.
Finally, the service is wonderful -- it was the owners of the hotel that recommended our driver and guide for the trip! The hotel offers delicious home-cooked meals and although they don't have coffee they kindly helped us buy some from a nearby cafe and brought it to us.
Overall a wonderful stay!

This B&B is the closest to Wunvzhou. Right after we got off the high-speed train, the owner immediately arranged a car to pick us up. She also recommended a fantastic local restaurant nearby, serving incredibly delicious home-style food at very reasonable prices, and even helped us secure discounted tickets for local attractions! When we had some free time in the afternoon, she suggested Xiangao Ancient City, which turned out to be a perfect spot for taking stunning photos. On our second day, she arranged for a car to pick us up directly from the B&B for our trip to Huangling, and we also got discounted entrance tickets! Honestly, for anything you need, just ask the owner – she's incredibly helpful! Absolutely amazing! Highly recommended!

This guesthouse, nestled by mountains and water, boasts a beautifully unique Song-dynasty style Huizhou courtyard. It's incredibly quiet, comfortable, and relaxing to stay in. The owner is super nice; seeing we had a child, he even upgraded our room for free. The young lady at the front desk was very helpful, and the auntie's breakfast was rich and delicious. Both the front and back courtyards are very tasteful, with the back featuring a wooded relaxation area. The third-floor viewing tearoom is absolutely stunning; sitting by the glass, drinking tea or coffee, and taking photos was just gorgeous. I'm so pleased with this guesthouse; it offers excellent value for money. The backyard restaurant is still under renovation, but I'll definitely bring my parents back later this year once it's done!

The host is a 73-year-old grandma who grows vegetables and chickens, and digs bamboo shoots in the mountains. We had two pollution-free farm meals for dinner and breakfast. The house is clean and comfortable, and it feels like returning to grandma's house. What is particularly worth mentioning is that the owner's beautiful and enthusiastic granddaughter happens to be at home on vacation and acts as a tour guide for us. It is very comfortable to explain the beautiful scenery in the scenic spot.

This is our third week travelling through China. Our stay at Wuli Shanshui Wenquan Dujia Jiudian. Mentioning the full name of this hotel pretty much gives you a full description of what you will likely experience. A lot of good value for money!
The hotel is situated at the bank of a river and behind the river you will see beautiful forested hills. Early in the morning and late in the afternoon you will hear the birds singing.
Your stay in this hotel comes with free entrance tickets to the hotpools, each with its own theme. You have the Danggui, the Red Wine, the Green Oasis, the Milk and Red Vinegar pools. We spent about 10 minutes in each of them. Relax, take time to have the body adjust to the temperature. I sat on the side with only my legs and hands under water. Later I let my body slide into the water fully. That night I slept like a baby and this morning I had a smooth soft skin, like a baby 😁
The rooms are fully equipped with all necessities and the reception was very helpful. We got a fruit basket as a welcoming gift.
Unfortunately there was no restaurant service but the reception helped us to order in lunch and dinner from a nearby restaurant. All we had to do was to pick from the menu and send the order to the reception via Wechat. For a modest fee our lunch, dinner and cold beers were delivered to our room 👍
The breakfast buffet offered great variety with fresh Ginseng fruit and mini tomatoes.
We liked it here so much that we booked a second night.
There is so much to explore in the neighbourhood with the beautiful old villages of Likeng and Wangkou nearby.
Thank you! 🙏
